Wow, quite a discertation. I guess it was good, that thing being so brief and all. Saved us a lot of time.
Of course, now we're going to argue over it now, so I don't think we've saved much time after all.

Well, I can't see why I suck, but I guess you would know, considering you've never met me. I guess I'll say I want Drey to win, if only to go against you, Agrenish.

I find it quite interesting how Drey was bashed for his challenge to Lucian, yet is encouraged in this challenge against Lupton. The challenge to Lucian was issued honorably in my mind and the reasons to me seemed very valid although I hadn't been in the arena to judge. With this challenge to Lupton, there are no justifications to the community whatsoever, yet it is praised. This just shows the popularity contest
which is so prevalent in this realm. The only reason Drey isn't being crucified again is because Lupton isn't a very popular figure around here and supporting him wouldn't help anyone achieve higher political status. Many bashed Drey for offering what they believed to be invalid reasons for challenge against Lucian. That's just fine and dandy, but isn't giving no reasons at all just as bad if not worse?
Anyway, I have nothing against anyone involved in this whole situation, but I found it interesting and decided to say something.

Clutch,
Yer logic is faulty fer a few reasons. First off, Drey's reason dat Lucian was an inactive baron was blatantly false. Not a "valid" reason as ya put it. Everyone jumped on Drey's case because of his invalid claim, after which Drey went on ta call da community at large morons who weren't listening or making any sense. He heard testimony from *many* duelers claiming Lucian was active and refused ta believe it, until he spoke with Lucian
personally.
Bashing or supporting someone is ALWAYS a popularity contest. Ya support yer friends and bash yer enemies. However, in most challenges no one has a reason ta bash da "enemy", only support deir friends. As ya can see, people are supporting Drey, NOT bashing Lupton. Drey was bashed by Lucian's friends fer spouting untruthes about Lucian. Had Drey challenged Lucian in da same manner he challenged Lupton, I doubt Lucian's friends would have said
anythin' more dan "Go Lucian, win".
You can't compare da challenges ta Lucian and Lupton, its apples and oranges, and da responses obviously support what I'm saying.

I try to be nice to others when I can. It makes me feel better and I'm doing stuff for others. A win-win situation.

Well,
I figured I would discuss reasons in private with Lupton and avoid it in the public. I just wanted everyone to know I challenged. And it is true, there were false reasons that I believed were -true-. So it was just a honest mistake on my part. Saying reasons out loud upon these boards just start arguments in which I am not aiming for. Cletus did it to Zafiroo and Lupton did it to Cas totally in the dark. So there shouldn't be anything wrong with
this one.
