Uneasy boredom

"I'm sick of this office!" Aja yelled and sent the papers cluttering her desk to floor. Rico, her foreman, just watched them all scatter in various directions with an amused grin. She sighed dramaticly. "I'm sick to death of the paperwork. I'm going outside." one determined movement brought her out of her chair. He just watched quietly having learned a long
time ago just to stay the heck out of the way. She looked at him and shook her head. "Not one word."
"Wouldn't think of it." he grinned and watched her breeze out of the office before he started picking up the papers.
Aja stood in the middle of the ship yards, looking around for something else to do. Something that wouldn't bore her. No such luck. The work that could be done by one person was done. Aja muttered to herself, then laughed.
"I'm startin to sound like Huma. Muttering to myself like a lunatic."
She grrred and walked out of the yards. Standing in the middle of the street, she walked down to the tavern. With a peek around the back, she knew Huma and Trevor were gone. All her ideas for distractions at the moment were gone. 'Damn.' she wandered into a nearby shop, but found nothing that caught her attention. She made her way from shop to shop, the boredom eating at her all the while.
An hour later, the restless feeling still eating away at her, she paced in her front room. Moving several items around, dusting, throwing old newspapers into the fireplace. She cleaned off her desk, cleaned the kitchen even though it really didn't need it. Wandered upstairs and cleaned Trevor's room. Then moving into her and Huma's bedroom, she sighed and flopped to the bed. This edgy feeling was getting worse by the moment. She couldn't recall
a time she felt so antsy. She'd been many places, been in a dozen unnerving situations, and never felt so out of place.
Perhaps the old cork would provide some sort of distraction. After reading five or six missives, she walked away disgusted. Bickering didn't even take the edge. Aja wandered into the arena, perhaps other people would soothe whatever was eating at her.

Watches quietly as Aja walks into his shop, smells some of his flowers and then wanders out. He says to himself " Huh...". He then goes back to transplanting the purple flowers he found in the forest.
