The night Luck of a Faery was forged was a dark one indeed. Somehow, that makes sense, nighttime being dark. A grumbling old dwarf worked over his forge, his face almost orange from the glowing shard of steel before him. Clangs rang out into the air as the dwarf used all his might into the shaping of the blade. "I hope that tree hugger appreciates this," he mumbled to
himself, not very happy at having to work all night. "Why he wants a shifted balance, I'll never understand." The dwarf shakes his head and continues the gruelling task ahead.
The stranger had come to his shop, looking around for a decent sword. Not seeing any to his liking--nor to his wallet's liking either--he spoke with the owner of the shop and pointed to a blade on the wall, a beautiful medium sword with runes of gold inlayed in the blade. "Aye, I can make a blade like that." The dwarf grinned, cash signs practically in his eyes.
"Ah, m'lord, but tis not exactly what I want." Forest gave the dwarf a list of specifications, a slightly thinner and longer blade, runes of obsidian instead of gold, and a leather wrapped handle. "And I would like this to be the pommel," the elvish man said, holding out a small piece of silver crafted in the shape of a cressent moon with a star resting in the curve.
Seeing the figurine, the dwarf's eyes lit up and he took it tenderly. "Tis beautiful. Elven work?" Forest nods a bit.
Together the man who resembles an elf in form and grace and the dwarf who resembles a rock in temper and stature walk into the back room to discuss payment.
The morn after next, Forest returned to the dwarf's forge and his eyes widened as his blade lay on the counter. He dropped a small bag filled with coins on the floor and picked up his blade, feeling the balance. "Just the way I wanted," he muttered, smiling seeing the balance was shifted a bit towards the pommel, uncomfortable for most, perfect for him. Forest picked up the bag of coins and handed it to the dwarf before sliding his new sword into
its sheathe. "Thank you, m'lord." The two exchange pleasantries until another customer comes in, which time Forest takes his que and leaves the shop, a content smile upon his face. The dwarf tends to his new customer, and both he and Forest feel they had gotten the better part of the deal.
