Results of the Challenge for the Sixth Baronial Ring

This night, 10 July, I, Jaycynda Ashleana, was called to witness and officiate the challenge brought forth by the Warlady Simini to the Baron of the Sixth, Drey D'erest Sanchez Starke.

The Warlady dueled for herself, being active in no House or other dueling organization. She had no Lord of Honor, and her Second was the Lady of Avalon, Morgan le Fay du Cornwall.

The Baron did duel with the colors of black on a delicate shade of purple, it being his homeland's flag. Also he had a small logo for the House of the Lion. His Second was the Baron of the Fourth, Zen Rising, and his Lady of Honor was the Lady Vaenssa Raven.

The match was as follows.

Round One:
They say the first round is always a crapshoot. However, sometimes I wonder if one is predictable the opening round, and it can be planned for. This night, I wonder yet again, as Drey's fancy sidestep takes him away from the path of the Warlady's thrust.
(( FSS/TH ))
One to Zero, Drey

Round Two:
I wonder now, if this night, defense will shine. So now it is Simini's time to defend, and she takes a risk. However, her risk taking is well-rewarded as her fancy circular parry is perfect to stop Drey's low cut.
(( LC/FCP ))
One to One

Round Three:
The first two rounds have been taken by timely defensive measures. But will the third? No, it is not to be... this time. As they both move on the attack, they attempt to move faster, and score the first strike. And so Drey does, thrusting over Simini's low cut.
(( TH/LC ))
Two to One, Drey

Round Four:
These two are indeed very skilled, as evinced by the previous rounds. And now, they continue to show their skill and stamina... This time meeting for naught in dual high cuts.
(( HC/HC ))
Two to One, Drey

Round Five:
Now is the time for the Baron to get ahead in this match and seal his defense. As he attempts to get out of the way, he seems to do just that. But it seems Simini has feinted and drawn the fancy sidestep, and as he move away... He moves into her low cut.
(( FSS/LC ))
Two to Two

Round Six:
Perhaps the duelers cannot hear the crowd.. as would be expected in a match this important. Now, they go for the lead point, both of them.. Simini strikes with her high cut, to take a lead, but Drey strikes low, to bring us back to a tie.
(( LC/HC ))
Three to Three

Round Seven:
To slash now would be a great risk. However, this round, neither dueler wishes to take *that* risk... In this case, Drey is safe. Yet... Simini scores the point and takes the lead, fancy Sim-stepping around the Baron's fancy circular parry.
(( FCP/FSS ))
Four to Three, Simini

Round Eight:
Now.... now is the key round.
Now... now is the time to strike.
Now.. now we move on to the next round, as Drey stop hits, and Simini slides a fancy lateral parry across her body.
(( SH/FLP ))
Four to Three, Simini

Round Nine:
A duel is never over until the official calls the final score. At any given moment, the tide can turn. And now, the tide moves... In Simini's favor, as she takes the win, fancy bookending away Drey's thrust.
(( TH/FCP ))
Five to Three, Simini

Thus, the Warlady Simini was successful in her challenge for the right to bear the Sixth Baronial Ring, defeating the Baron five to three in nine rounds. The new Baroness has declared her alignment Renegade to the Overlord.

(( Simini def. DreyStarke, 5-3 in 9 rounds. ))

Signed and sealed,

Baroness Simini,

That does have a nice ring to it. Congratulations and may you bring as much credit to the ring you wear as you have to the sport, we all love, for the last few years. There are many who would claim to represent the sport when they hold this office, I doubt few will actually do it as well as you m'lady.

Sincerely,

Valmion

Baroness Simini,

I would like to congratulate you on a fine duel. Greatly was I impressed with such skills as yourself. The Sim-step was truly fabulous.

And I'm not afraid to say I'd like to return that challenge next cycle to that same excellent duelist.

Again, well done.

My sincere thanks to those that were kind enough to attend the match, or have posted words upon this board. Regardless of which duelist you favored, it bodes well for any sport to have supportive fans.

Drey... I welcome a return challenge whenever you would care to issue it. I only hope that our next meeting proves as entertaining as was the last, whichever shoulder Providence lays a hand on.

I hope to bear this title honorably, and will endeavor to do my best.

Respectfully,
~ Simini

Heartiest congratulations to thee, m'lady. I hadst predicted thy rise to rank long ago. Even though the timing be a might delayed . . .

Well congratulations! May thy reign last one thousand annae, yet never tax thy endurance.
