Daelin already asked the council to test him, and we recently has a vote as to which baron would test him. Gim was chosen to do so.

Meth brings up a very sound argument as to why I believe Lord Evermeadow should make decisions regarding a duelists fate.
It is my belief the Baron's Council should levy fines and punishments of labor within the community, such as the former great Overlord Dalamar's fine when he was unable to meet his challenge, but as to the removal of a duelist from a rank or title, or the taking of peer wins, that task should be the sole responsibility of an unbiased authority, not a political body.
It is my belief Lord Evermeadow and his superior(s) is that authority.
I know my opinion is not popular with many of you, I ask only your endulgence as I write my thoughts.

Not only is your opinion unpopular with many of us, but it is also unpopular with Lord Goldendust Evermeadow himself. *He* brought da matter before our council, we did not ask fer it. Interesting Gnimish isn't on da barons council; I doubt you'd post against it if he was.
Plain and simple, a committee is often a far better means of ruling dan a single man, who is easier swayed by personal feelings and beliefs dan a group of 12. I am not saying Goldendust would have, or ever has, ruled unfairly and in a biased manner; I'm simply stating a logical observation. Also, do not forget barons have worked hard ta earn deir station, heaven forbid DoS should award a perk of being one of an elite 13 by entrusting part of da
sports history ta 'em.
Finally, Elijah made an illegal challenge, da council's ruling wasn't unfair or unfounded. We had proof, we had good cause, and we ruled against Elijah based on fact, not opinion.

We, the barons, are a council who make decisions when our input is called upon. We are more than a "If he's our friend, he's okay. If he's not, he's gone" mentality. If you put your mind to it, it's very easy to protect those if we want to.
For example...
Daelin is a friend of mine whom I hold in very high regards. If the council wanted to be corrupt on this matter, we could nominate someone who is willing to throw the duel*.
*I beg the council not crucify me for "revealing the plan."
That's what corruption is, oh ye of little faith (kind of funny I'm saying this to an angel, a messenger of God, and someone else who calls himself a God). It's us getting what we want in the least stressful way.
But Gim expressed interest in standing up against Daelin. He has not defended the title in a while. He voted initially that Daelin should be tested. Moreover, it seems a bit ironic. The eleventh ring had a situation where a member from the council had to duel two people to see whether or not it would have a holder in the end. Now the roles are reversed. The now holder of the eleventh ring (as a result of that event), is now dueling to see if
another baron may hold a place in the council.
Those are my thoughts. If you see corruption, then there's nothing else I can do aside from writing again and again.
