Actually, there is. When Eros was Overlord he wore it to the arena many times and even dueled wearing it once or twice before someone commented on the etiquette of wearing it while dueling. After that, he went back to wearing his war helm........

Eros wast the only Overlord vain enow ta feel the need ta wander around wearing the crown. T'was totally inappropriate, but Eros wast ast well, totally inappropriate, a rude, drunken, foul mouthed lout. T'was a grand eve when Cristian de Oro didst wrest the title from such a one ast Eros.

Jona~~~
I wasn't making comment on Eros's character. The man is my friend, reagardless of any faults he may have. I was only answering the question as to whether or not there is an actual physical crown. Having seen the crown a few times in the arena, I wanted only to give my *supporting evidence*, that being that Eros wore it and I saw it.
As for Eros's flaws...... All I can say, Jona, is that no one is perfect.... No one But at least when he made mistakes as overlord he moved to correct them, in what I consider to be an honourable manner. He learned from those selfsame mistakes. That's more than most people here do.

Has any Overlord besides Eros ever worn it? He really doesn't count.

Jona,
I don't think Eros did it for the reason of "need." It was probly more of a case of celebration for his triumph or more over, just something he felt like wearing. I believe he knew there was no "need" to wear the crown as he's seen past Overlords, I am sure.

She sent quill to parchment, a slim raven brow lifted as she recalled the events. She tacked the missive to the cork.

Jona,
>Eros wasna e'en aware th' ast a warlord 'e couldna be championed by anna save
>th' a renegade Baron.
I don't think that has anything to do with wearing the crown, it may have been dumb, but that doesn't say much about it.
> His callous insults flung upon manna in his oft drunken stupor ast well
>willnae be forgotten, th' nor 'is seemin' nae ta e'en notice Dalamar at 'is
>crumpled at 'is verra feet in extremis th' eve 'e didst gain th' title.
I wasn't around then, I wouldn't know. When I think of it though, how else do you go on dueling someone as himself? Reading you stating 'crumpled at his very feet' seems that Dalamar was a bit weak at the time. It's quite hard to duel anyone like that and anyone who challenged would have to face the fact that he wasn't in the best of health.
I don't know if he noticed or not, I was not there, but how do you duel someone so weak? I doubt you should let up on your dueling because of the challenged opponent being incapable of dueling. I mean no disrespect towards Dalamar by that remark, I'm just presenting my feelings.
::tacking the note with a small smile, shaking his head with a light chuckle as he heads off for a small bucket of strawberries::

Jona~~~
I hope that someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that I had read during another discussion of Eros' challenge to Dalamar that Eros was in fact solicitious of Dalamar's increasing weakness during the duel. If I'm not mistaken, he even offered repeatedly to pause in the match so that Dalamar might recover enough to continue. Granted, I wasn't present for much of that duel as I had to leave early to begin work in the arena.... but I am
quite sure that I read that at one time on these boards in a note by the officiating RDI of that challenge.

To get the point across one more time.
There is no official overlord crown, if Unagi has one it's not something that was created to represent the overlord title like the barons rings were for barons. Some former overlords may have had their own personal medals, badges, belts ect. of office but there is no offical symbol for the rank of overlord.
So you can stop looking Drake. It doesn't exist.

Strange...I do remember Dalamar having one around, though he never actually wore it to my knowledge.

Don't worry Sid...
I remember Gnim-bo telling me about wearing the crown a time or two, and I believe Ath mentioned it once as well.
If it hasn't been around for as long as the title has, that hardly matters now. The item exists.
Lady Drake, aka the Gryphon.
