Maybe when your translator's fixed, you could tell me what a "thin's" is.

Madame Elgarette

Perhaps thee hae some difficulty counting. I should venture ta say th' those thee named nae come verra close ta making up 'alf of the community. Indeed, I wouldst venture ta say they dinna come close ta makin' up bu' a verra miniscule portion 'o th' community. So like thee ta hae exaggerated flights 'o fancy, nae ta mention exhibitin' yuir usual penchant fer grandious, overblown an' spurious comments. Perchance, tis thine creepin' senility again

::Thinking out loud as she peruses the posts.:: Hmm... she didn't say anything about me... Well, I must be the one she really does hate. ::Shruging, she makes a quick post.::

And some will remember Eros DeBurgo's reign as Overlord for his intense duel to gain the crown... the longest in the history of Overlord defences.
And some will remember Eros DeBurgo's reign as Overlord for his consideration of his opponent during that duel... offering to pause more than once to allow Dalamar to receive treatment, as the Ward offered no aid to him.
And some will remember Eros DeBurgo's reign as Overlord for his series of successful defences, defeating three challengers in as many days.
And some will remember Eros DeBurgo's reign as Overlord for the rapid issuance of challenges made to him, for the challengers could not show enough respect for the title to give pause in their own greed for it.
And some will remember Eros DeBurgo's reign as Overlord for the efforts he made to welcome newcomers to the duels, and to promote a sense of community in a sport that was tearing itself apart.

Personally, I shall remember his reign for all these reasons and more.

Sid,
Don't take this the wrong way, but are you truly that daft? I've only been dueling here for two and a half years and I know that Jona speaks to her magical quill, which writes what she says, including her accent.

If you truly want to know what "thin's" is, it means "things."

I'll even translate her latest post for you:

"Perhaps thee hae some difficulty counting. Perchance, tis thine creepin' senility
again
manifestin'. "

It looks like you have trouble counting. I might be so bold to say that those you mentioned don't make up half of the community. Actually, I'd be pretty accurate to say they don't even come close to making up a small part of the community. It sounds so much like you to exaggerate, not to mention displaying your usual ability to make off base comments. Maybe your senility is catching up to you again.

It's not hard, really. I think she's wrong about Eros, personally. That's not the point though.
However, I think it's more of a waste of time to actually write the whole question out. You can find the answer by just staring at the word and thinking for one moment.
Oh well, maybe I'm expecting too much out of someone who has known Jona for, oh, six or seven years? Surely this dialect isn't a surprise to you.

Perhaps if people would take the time to think about what they were going to write, there would be less confusion and less hatred.
Then again, perhaps I am thinking too much like my mother's side of the family does... Considering long term goals, working for the betterment of future generations, seeking to understand the ideals the drive those around me...
Too bad more people can't see things the way the Velcourian Dragons do...

I was wondering when we were going to get to the "It takes a Village" line in our political discussions here in this Forum.

Jonalyn~

Once you are finished with your rantings, you'll stop to think that I would not want to waste my time listing *all* of the people whom you've treated badly in this Community. The list would take me hours to compile, and I have better things to do, so I gave you a short list. You might remember that I asked Rikki if he wanted more, which would make a logically thinking person believe that there *are* more names to be had.

Hon, it's a jest. I know what "thin's" means. I am well aware that Jonalyn is too lazy to pick up a quill and write for herself.

One would also remember the care Eros took in attempting to assure that Dalamar's memory be preserved in the hearts and minds of the Community, as well as the gentleness he displayed towards a grieving woman in such a dark time in her life.

No, heaven forbid we remember that. Heaven forbid we remember *nothing* but his mistakes and the fact that he wore a crown when no other Overlord did.

I do not agree with Eros' challenge to Jeffrey, in fact, I'm hoping that Jeffy will win, but lets not lynch him for a spelling error and the fact that he wore a crown.

Actually, I asked about the crown in a dueling lesson with Dalamar. He said he kept it beside Vengeance, when the blade wasn't being used, in a 'safe place'.

Anyway, I never saw him with it on, but he did show it to me once during that same lesson I believe.

BRK, man, get whatever his name is to bring Dalamar back, eh? Dal's gone, yes, but dead for all time? Who knows for sure? No body, no proof. Odder things have happened in this asinine city and I would love to see him come back with a bloodlust or something, slaying anything that got too annoying.

Madame Drakewyn

Eros Hunrai Marzanhe De Burgo shall be remembered for manna thin's nae th' least 'o which shall be 'is 'unger fer th' title, 'is fear th' 'is challenge wouldst be called inta question, 'is search fer a champion, 'is celebration after 'e didst gain th' title, 'is seekin' aid fer 'is reign among those wh' were grievin' fer th' fallen Dalamar, 'is nae havin' th' intestinal fortitude ta face down Billy fer insultin' 'is lady, fer declarin' 'is Baron,
Adona Uziel ta be renegade, fer th' drunken insults 'e didst fling 'pon th' warlords, Barons an' th' community, fer bein' challenged ast quickly ast wast possible ta remove 'im from th' title ast well ast fer infectin' th' duels wi' rabble wh' carry on 'is own disrespect fer th' sport.

Tis certes Eros dinna instill anna sense 'o community. Ast ta th' sport tearin' itself apart, Madame, considerin' Eros' contributions ta th' sport, tis nae a wonder 'e wast challenged ast oft ast wast possibile. Such ast Eros Hunrai Marzanhe De Burgo hae shown nae bu' 'is own selfish greed fer glory an' mos' certes Eros dinna do annathin' wh' didst 'onor th' sport, nor th' traditions save wh' 'e thought might make 'is own light ta shine brighter.

Ah, bu' th' Fates hae shown a kindness in th' 'e hast found a lady wh' ist well suited ta 'im an' 'e ta 'er. Two such personages do indeed deserve each other fer all time.

Jonalyn,

Many Overlord will be known for many things. And many duelers of this community shall choose to remember what they desire of whom in whatever light. For instance, while you may not have approved of Marzan as Overlord and how he acted, there are a number of people who did. Just as you may have favored the reign of Dalamar, there are many who did not. That is opinion and interpetation of many different peoples code of honor. However, that does
not lessen the fact they did achieve the title of Overlord, or defended it however many times, and for that shall always be known as one of former leaders of this community. I say this simply as a balancing counter to your statements of Eros and his reign. What you say could be said for most anyone who has ever held title here depending on who's point of view.

Madame Starfare,

I tend to stay above insulting others, and I just let insults to myself slide. However, you have implied negative aspersions to my wife's character. Mystik, as I write this, is all alone in the arena, serving the community as she has done countless times when she is not even required to. Her dedication and quality of personal character is unquestionable and people do know that. Madame, if you must hate me, so mote it be. However, I would
respectfully request that you leave my family out of it.

Eros,

Perhaps thee aire drunken agin. I do believe I didst pen that th' Fates didst a kindness by joinin' thee with Mystik an' she wi' thee. Tis such a rare joining an' one th' indeed ist suited ta th' both 'o thee. Thou seems ta see insult where none be yet verra casually ferget th' insults thee hae offered unta mineself, th' warlords, th' Barons an' th' community.

I am reminded of other insults thee didst cast 'pon those wh' were nae due such treatment. Perhaps thou hast forgotten th' insult ta Ian MacKenzie when thou didst dare ta call 'is 'onor inta question an' th' pathetic whinin' th' Ian hae nae introduced 'imself, when in fact 'e had. Perhaps th' wast another eve wherein thine drunkenness 'eld sway o'er thee?

Dinna cast thineself in a martyr's light, Eros, thou well knows jus' wh' a whinin', whimperin' debaucherous, lewd, vulgar mouthed, drunkard thou art. Thou mayest find those new come ta th' basement gullible, thou shalt nae find those wh' witnessed thine true self ast ready ta accept th' thee aire some kind 'o shinin' example ta follow.
