~Challenge to Baron OakenShield~

~~

I, Eros Hunrai Marzanhe DeBurgo, do Challenge the Baron Geoffrey OakenShield for possession of The Eighth Ring of The House of Swords.

I have great respect for the Dwarf. There is no malice in this challenge. I would imagine it might draw a crowd and provide some fun and entertainment for all. I Challenge for the love of challenge, and the Good Baron presents a formidable, though short, Mountain.
~~Blessed be~~
Eros

My Particulars:

I shall duel with the twin blood daggers created by Mysty. My Second shall be, of course, the Elven Ranger Shadowsiv. (If he can make it.)
My Lady of Honor shall be my wife, Mystik DeBurgo. I shall duel for the Honor of Asgard and in salute to the Kingdoms of Lothlorien, Eldicor and Atrebla. My colors shall be Yellow, Red and Black. I shall wear a crimson arm band in Honor of the 28th Overlord,
Lord Dalamar Ar' Daumon. May his soul rest in peace.

Wins

1 The Lady Simini (Simini) 4/30/99 5 to 3 Stormi
2 Lord Var Medici-Giovanni (QuickVarMG) 6/10/99 5 to 2 Stormi
3 Lord Elijah (EagleEcore) 6/10/99 5 to 4 Fish
4 Sir Magnus Eques (Maxim128) 6/11/99 5 to 2.5 Reiver

I was under da impression my name was recorded enough in our baronial histories so future challengers would be able ta spell it right.

I suppose Eros cares little of da challenge and simply fer da ring.

Granted, I am new here, but was it not said that no Barons' can be challenged now?

Just because the Baron is not taking advantage of that tourney thing should not put him at risk of challenge.

If naught else, what if he wants to challenge test thing with the Overlord? He has rights too, no?

Especially if the challenger could not get his name right.

Guess that is just me.

Frankly, I think if a Baron is not gonna be in the Baron's Tourney then they should be free game for challenges as normal. However, I did believe Drake did state no new challenges could be made to the Barons until the Tourney is over.

Perhaps we can neglect the use of common sense due to some compulsory technicality, and eradicate this challenge as well. This time, before the actual fight occurs.

Drake has said in a later post that the "protection" for the Barons had been lifted.

I qoute.." However, given the general outcry on this, I will tentatively rescind the protection upon the Barons. The final decision resting in the hands of the Supervisor, whom I shall contact swiftly. For those Warlords who still wish to challenge, read the rules carefully, and think before you act."

Therefore, challenges can be made. Make sure you read everything before commenting.

My thanks,

Personally, whether or not they're in the tourney, they should be legible for challenge. But the decision's already been made.

But here comes another grudge match, this time it's because of a spelling error. Eros, you are a thoughtless bastard. It's so obvious you just want a ring and you care nothing about the community. The next time someone calls me "Quick" I'm going to bite their head off for not getting my name right, and just tell them how little they care for the community.

Yeah, that last paragraph was sarcasm. Win, Eros.

::having had someone read some posts for her in exchange for some money she asks the serving boy to post a short question for her since her english is less than perfect::

There are many, many posts on these boards, was it necessary to state mistake this way for someone that said they were new?

Just something to think on.

Being new is no cause for ignorance. You must work long and hard in the arena for that right. So, yes, it was necessary. Because you probably got off lightly having me correct you than someone else who might focus on you, watch your every move from here on out, and bring up your mistakes many many years from now to use against you.

But I digress.

Just be more careful about things, I guess.

Maybe G'nort was directing his post at Elijah...
Or perhaps he was directing his post at the community at large, since I see an unsigned post here as well.
Don't take his comments personally, he's a good man... just a bit rough around the edges lately.

::biting her lip after the serving boy tells her the responses::

"I think I did no say things right. Perhaps I should stick with face to face, maybe least if I do no," a pause, "not say things right I can explain further, da?".

::the serving boy nods with a patient grin, after all the woman was paying him with gold::

::with a sigh she walks off, trying to figure out the right words to explain what she meant::

Two honorable duelists...

May your blades strike true.
Yet, may Eros walk a bright path to victory.
