Elijah's Top Ten Dueler's of All Time

Before I departed this realm I was reflecting on many of the dueler's I have faced here in my time. After seeing another's post on dueler's he felt were some of the best based on the histories, I figured I would post my own having been here since before histories were kept. I have based this list simply on title holders, WoLs records, and those known to be a good tough opponent when something was on the line,
and always were fun to counter with on regular dueling nights as well as carried themselves in a way I found honorable to the community at large.

10. Xenograg - Three times an Overlord, former Baron, mentor to many old timers that started a wonderful trend.

9. AJayBird - The longevity and commitment to the rings as a title holding Baron.

8. SHIV BLADE - The recent 100 WoL multiple times a Baron who is a rising star of the future.

7. Falon - The first real "Bad Boy of DoS" who could back up his mouth, former Overlord.

6. Shadowrun - My teacher, and the first to hit 100 WoLs, a feared opponent for most.

5. EllisaMorgan - My favorite student who was the closet's to being like Siera Red without even trying, multiple Baroness.

4. Karnafexx - The best "Bad Boy of DoS" and a clutch preformer when his Overlords' needed him, multiple Baron.

3. Siera Red - The finest "Lady" to ever weild the blade in the ring, former Overlord and Baroness.

2. Athlstan - Twice an Overlord, former Baron, established WoL record with long reigns.

1. J Oaknshld - Except for Overlord, as all the best stats of any kind of record in DoS, and longevity of title holding.

All of these duelers were strictly put there by opinion. My top ten list would be much different...and no, I'm not in my top ten...fifteen yeah.

You forgot Skyler Jackson Chamberland. The dashing, heroic warlord with the most beautiful haircut and the sexiest smile in the DoS.

I never knew Falon... or Seira... both were gone before I began my own career.
I spoke with the Bishop once, a short conversation as he was just on his way out and I had just started my calling shift for that night. I know he was a friend to my best friend, G'nort, and I often wish I'd had a chance to talk with him more before he left the realm again.
I've never really spoken much with Xeno or Ellisa... I've seen them many times, but I cannot recall ever dueling either of them or really having a chance to talk to them.
I like watching Billy Ray strut his stuff... one of the terribly few people who can brag about being the best, without having to insult the person he's dueling... at least not too often. It took a long time, but I think I finally managed to get some respect in his eyes as a person, as well as a duelist.
I've spoken with the Cleric a time or two, even went on a quest to rescue a mutual friend with him and some other friends of mine. Remembering his soft spoken manner and kind words gives me hope whenever things seem bleak.
I've worked along side AJay... twice, I believe when he was a caller here. He always struck me as someone who held a great deal of love for life and for those close to him. I'm proud to call him a friend, even if we've never been close friends.
One time, I was going to challenge Avery... the histories make no mention of it, because I never issued a formal challenge, and another took the ring he held shortly thereafter. We still joke about it, sometimes. He's a tough fellow to really get to know, but a good man nonetheless.
Jeff... well, what can be said about him that hasn't already? One of the many people who so readily welcomed me to the Duel of Swords when I first began, and remain my friend ever since. I remember his wedding to Summer, and saying that she and he were the only two people in existence I would wear what I wore to that event... those who were there can remember what I mean.

I think what I'm trying to say with this post is... it's not always dueling that makes someone the best. It's the person holding the weapon, or talking with their friends, or welcoming the newcomers. The person who shares in your triumphs, and comforts you when you don't succeed.
It's the person behind the blade, behind the record, that's the best.
There are many others I could talk about, but this is what I can share about the ten people Elijah spoke of.

Lady Drake, aka the Gryphon.

I personally feel Banda belongs on this list.

::snickers, signing his name and awaiting some serious laughs... not to mention a little beating as well by Banda, of course::

Ummm.... for the strangest of reasons I think I felt the spirit of Banda on Elijah's list.

Have a good one,

::reads the post with a nod::

I know I may not make the top ten best duelers list, but I'm sure I'm on that top ten best looking list.
