The sun awoke her to another day, one that would change her life once again. Kammi slumbered, curled cozily in her bed when the messenger rapped lightly upon the door of the warm mountain cottage.
"Ms Demeri?", the name striking a chord deep within her. "Aye?", her lip trembling as she gazed curiously at the boy. Handing her a letter, she placed a copper in his hand as he smiled and walked off. A simple *Tay* was written on the outside of the envelope, the handwriting seeming familiar.
Settling in her recliner, she slipped a finger under the plain wax seal, taking the letter from it's protection. Her hands shook as she opened the parchment, her eyes growing wide as she read. Paling, she paused at the words in her hands.....
My dearest Tay,
I write this to you with a heavy heart. These past months I have appeared as though dead to all I've known, including you, my love and wife. At last I can relate to you the truth of my abrupt disappearance that most wonderful and, at the same time, saddest of days.
As you have always known I have been hunted by the Sabbat, for the secrets I have gathered over the years. They finally tracked me down to the Duel of Swords. Due to this unforeseen circumstance, I was forced to disappear from your eyes, such wonderfully kind, caring eyes.
::shakes himself free from the beautiful memories of the past for a moment::
My dearest Taylara, I ask only that you forgive my omission and allow to once more be at your side as a friend. I have heard that you have moved on, for that I am truly happy, because, with me, your life would have been filled with danger. Please relate to the RDI's that I have returned, in body as well as spirit.

Her heart pounded within her chest as she read and reread the letter. "By the gods, Kammi!" , her voice shaky. The parchment fell from her hand as she rose and scurried to Kammi's room, standing in a state of complete confusion.
Kammi had always thought her father would return to her, and he has....

So many days and nights have gone by, since I have entered my beloved Arena. To be among those that choose to test their mettle, not with words or deceit, but by the strength of their convictions.
Some time ago I decided to fake my death in order to escape the wrath of those who would seek my true death. I did so, by finally bringing to an end the existence of my twin brother, Melkar. It is his charred remains that lie within what was supposed to be my gravesite.
As Is the code among my kind, once a Blood hunt has been called upon someone, it will continue for all eternity or until their demise. What is often left out is that their is a chance to be deemed innocent of the charges brought against one. My case is no exception. My brother's lies and accusations brought the matter before the council. My innocence could only be made sure if I submitted to the councils ruling. That, either myself or my brother was
telling the truth.
To make a long story short, my brother no longer exists, and, by virtue of my trial, I shall continue my unlife without fear of reprsials from the committee. I shall await any challenge to my competence within or without the Arena.

Welcome back. I'm sorry that you had to endure such pains at the hands of your own kind. But it should do you well to be back in the Arena with your true friends. I hardly knew you before you left, maybe now through meeting in and out of the rings, that will change. I bid you luck, and again welcome back.

The little girl blinked as her adoptive mother ran in to her room excitedly. Rubbing her eyes she inquired of Tay "Wha?.... Is, OK?" Slow as a rock to wake up, as usual. "Bellan pee on the carpet again?" The haze of unconsciousness lifting as Tay scooped her up and swung her around joyfully.
"Kammi Xy is alive, he is coming home!" She explained as he snuggled the young one almost in to oblivion.
Hurriedly Kammi Jumped out of her arms and ran for her little shovel. "Quick momma we better let him outa the box!!!!" And she ran out, to the grave sight, as fast as her little legs could carry her.
