Challenge of the 5th results..

For all to hear....


Upon this day, the 25th of August, the Warlord Valmion did proceed with his challenge to the Baron Verceterix Favre for the right to wear the 5th Baronial Ring of the Duel of Swords.
The night was cool as the guest arrived to bear witness to another Baronial Challenge. As honored guest, friends and members of the duel settled in the gala and pageantry commenced....
Warlord Valmion dueled under the colors of the black and silver of Questrion. Standing as his Second was the honorable Warlord, Unagi Miyamoto. Lord Valmion dueled for the honor of the Grand Mistress, the Lady Banda.
Baron Favre dueled under the colors of crimson and black. The Baron stood without Second and dueled for the Honor of the duel itself.
As they entered the ring, the din of the crowd quieted. The Challenge Match was at hand...

Round 1: Rix reaches out with Icebreaker to cut down Val in mid~step.
1-0 Rix
Round 2: Rix steps aside to take a gander at the ducking Valmion, both breaking away from contact!
1-0 Rix
Round 3: A show of fancy parries, as the crowd yells for blood!
1-0 Rix
Round 4: Val lowers to one knee, braced in a stop hit that doesn't stop the low hitting Rix.
2-0 Rix
Round 5: We have another fancy showing of parries, the duelist back on the defensive.
2-0 Rix
Round 6: Val rounds a low parry in time to deflect the incoming thrust of Rix.
2-.5 Rix
Round 7: Rix's reflexes are just as fast as he rounds a low parry in time to halt the thrust of Val.
2.5-.5 Rix
Round 8: After many rounds of urging by the crowd, both Val and Rix reach out in a trade of cuts and blood as the crowd cheered.
3.5-1.5 Rix
Round 9: Val steps around the attempted parry of Rix for better positioning and the advantage.
3.5-2 Rix
Round 10: Rix lunges in an attempt to impale Val. Quick thinking and a circular parry saved the Warlord from a devastating thrust.
3.5-2.5 Rix
Round 11: Rix sweeps in high and fast through the slashing blade of Val.
4.5-2.5 Rix
Round 12: The confidence of the Warlord shows through when he ducks after a high cut and steals the advantage from the parrying Baron.
4.5-3 Rix
Round 13: A fine display of a defensive maneuver, as both Duelist parry to no avail.
4.5-3 Rix
Round 14: As the duel carried on to the late rounds, the duelist grew defensive as Val lower to a stop hit only to view a low parry by Rix.
4.5-3 Rix
Round 15: The duel was a contest of two well matches duelist, but in all things one does prevail. Tonight would go to the Baron Favre as he thrust over the low cutting blade of Val to reatain his title as the 5th Baron of the Duel of Swords.

Baron Verceterix Favre is victorious in his defense of the Fifth Baronial Ring.
