Picking up where I left off.

DoS community, This is an official statement of my challenge to Adeena Maeax for the fifth ring. I apologize for putting Lady Maeax through the stress of an impending challenge the last time I issued one, yet I, regretfully, was unable to follow through with it due to legal problems, the very nature of which I will describe to any who ask me personally. Since that very brief "retirement" stripped me of my old peer wins, I was more or less slow about acquiring ten new ones. While they may not be impressive, I feel that I have more than proved myself within the rings as being worthy of issuing a challenge. Upon confirmation of the peer wins below, I will secure a caller to officiate the duel; the "honor" of selecting a date, time, and place are up to you, Baroness. One last comment before I state my reasons: any and all negative and argumentative comments or questions regarding this challenge shall be directed towards me personally. I do not appreciate public "flaming". My reasons for challenge are somewhat simple. While this may sway towards the selfish side, I have never held a ring, and it has been a goal for me to achieve. Also, I feel that I am active enough within the sport to be considered worthy of the rank. Of course, opinions differ, but that is mine. On top of all my "selfish" reasons, I present this one for thought: I find it safe to say that I am in the Arena often enough to judge whether or not a person shows up regularly; Adeena has been present no more than twice within the past few months. While I hold respect for her and her accomplishments in defending her ring, I find an absent baron quite offensive, for lack of a better term. One would flay me for being "selfish" in my reasons, yet is not merely sitting upon a ring selfish as well? I present that question to all of you who read this. Consider it.Signed,Kayne RuneWarlord of the Sport. Listed below is a quite winded explanation of my peer wins, presented merely to sate your curiousity.I defeated Ulath, five to four in eleven rounds on October Fourth. Kayne,

Respectfully, I wish you good luck.

Also, you should take a look at the Barons rings ans see who the holder of the 5th ring is, you may be slightly surprised. But I'll give you a hint. The Holder of teh Fifth Barons Ring isn't Adeena.

::after the laughing subsides, he pens his own non-flamable good natured ribbing::

So...are you challenging Adeena for the fifth ring? Can that be done? If you win, will Gnort have to give up his ring?

::blushes and pens a quick addition below his current missive::

Let it be known that I challenge for the sixth ring..

I apologize to all. I suppose if this mistake makes my challenge null and void by the rules, so be it.

I will not clutter this with excuses, save that I had just finished three duels and it was nearly eleven at night.

::pauses to heave a sigh, then continues writing::

Anyways, I await to hear of my punishment.

Well, I'm glad I'm not on the peer win list, because I'd take serious offense on being on a list that was called unimpressive by the man using it. Then I'd have to hurt him.
Of course, if I were Adeena, I'd hurt him for challenging me for the wrong ring, too.

Have fun,

What is more disgraceful?

A. Being in a sport for three years, defending a ring 5 times, being challenged 8 or nine times only to have ta' wait it out and get dumped on, defendin' the overlord a few times....
Then holdin' the ring longer than anyone has held any title in the history of the sport. Figure 24 months at 9 challenges equals out ta' what? an average of one challenge every 2.7 or 8 months. Then havin' a period of time after ya' win the ring where ya' can't make it durin' regular callin' hours, but I think showin' up every week ta' show support fer team duelin'.

or.

B. Challengin' fer a ring once...then dumpin' on the lady. Then come back and make one or two comments while ya' see her duelin' about her not "Bein' very much of a dueler", then get yer peer wins and not have the respect enough fer the woman of the ring ta' even challenge fer the right one.

Well Kayne, least ya' didn't call her a guy like a few others did.

Good luck kid, I hope yer better at duelin' than ya' are at diplomacy.

How about..

C. Not giving the challenger enough respect to heed his wishes and consult him in private.
or..
D. Accusing the challenger of "dumping" on the challenged.
or..
E. Stating that Adeena has more of a right to berate Kayne about his dueling abilities than Kayne has to berate Adeena about hers.
or..
F. In effect, sitting on the ring, the only justification of which being that the "sitter" has owned the ring longer than anyone else, making her more "worthy" than anyone to hold it. Indirectly, of course, saying that she is more "worthy" than anyone else.
or..
G. Insulting the integrity of one whom you have never met.

Take your pick.

I hope your logic skill far exceeds that of your grammar.

Challenger and all,

All I have done is accept the warlords challenge and request the right to secure a caller of my choice. I wish no part in these discussions outside of concrete facts pertaining to the match. I am slightly insulted that my integrity has come into question and some would think I am merely sitting on my ring.
If my feelings of superiority are involved here (and I feel I never try to act superior) they are based soley on my confidence in my ability to duel. I was ready to duel the first time Warlord Kayne challenged me and I am ready this time also. It is only a matter of my challenger following through with the deed.
In the future William and Kayne, speak not of me in such a manner unless I have asked or deserved it. I need none to defile my character no raise it apon a pedestal, I can do this myself.

Respectfully,

Adeena Maeax.
