::it had been a while since she had been able to sneak out of the house and return to the place where she had seen so many strange people. when she read this stack of notes it took her some time to find all of the other postings on the subject. once she was armed with all this knowledge however she posted a quick note.:
If this man Methous does not show up for his duel with the champion then he looses automatically right?
I think the punishment should be amended to say that if he does not show up to face the first champion that he should have to face two champions after the second cycle.

Actually, that's not a bad idea. Too bad this goes far deeper. I don't quite understand it all myself, but everyone seems to just hate Meth for some reason. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? What exactly did Meth do to aquire so many grudges?

Methous has shown patent and repeated disrespect for opponents, callers, bystanders, and the sport itself. He was given the benefit of the doubt by some people when he appeared to wish to be a better person. He failed to reform, as he claimed he would. Then he proceeded to behave in an even worse fashion. Again, he was given another chance and again he behaved in the same manner or worse.
He ended this pattern of behavior with irresponsible behavior in the manner of his challenge and his defense. He destroyed the property of the sport, in an insult to everyone here. He has personally insulted numerous others on a regular basis, with no respect for any in or outside of the rings and no respect for the sport. He has tried to run across town to fight two duels in two different places at the same time. When instructed to stick to his
primary duel, he threw a temper tantrum and forfeited.
It isn't that anyone has a grudge against the man. It is that he has willingly, willfully, and knowingly forfeited all respect ever shown him in order to do what he wants, when he wants. By his behavior he has not only insulted the people who 'just hate' him, but he has even more seriously insulted those who have defended him in the past.

I'll only name a couple of his many misdeeds. Overtly rude and dishonorable actions both in and out of the ring, destroying a ring that was a symbol of the hard work of *many* people of this Community, and the worst in my opinion...death threats against people who have done nothing but point out his wrongdoings.

It does not take sight to see a truly ugly specimen of life; or do ye not remember the incident with the young lad you so sickly and unjustly harassed, and abused, the boy? Lad, give it a rest. Well, Drey, this wasn't what cost his team the forfeit. He was given the oppurtunity, by the caller, to stay in the arena in which the TDL duel was being fought and to complete the match without penalty. He was, if I remember correctly, never threatened with forfeit by the caller. Nor did I, as his opponent, demand one. I requested him and the caller instructed him to remain and duel, and to deal with his other plans later.
The reason he stuck his team with a forfeit is because, upon discovering that he was subject to the same rules as everyone else, he threw a violent temper tantrum. He loudly decried our attempt to 'take away his right' to fight a duel in the Arena. He complained that if he could fight two duels at once, it was none of our business if he did so. Then, in a huff, he chose (without being threatened with the penalty) to stomp off in a huff and give up
the duel.
His team couldn't sub anyone in, and he had loudly announced his forfeiture, so they were stuck. All because of his bad temper at being requested to follow the rules that everyone else has to follow.
That is what happened.

Frankly, after his conversation with me, that duel would have been forfeit even had he remained to complete it.
