All the things you said to me today...
Change my perspective in every way..

It hadn't started out as a bad night, she was in a good mood when she went to the arena, wasn't she? She had been horsing around with Avery, a new favorite pastime for her. Yet she had left the Arena with a cloud of emotion smothering her, she couldn't breathe and she had barely made it out the doors of the Inn before she started hyperventilating.

Bent over with her hands on her knees she couldn't help but think she must be a sight for the passersby that ignored her personal plight. Elijah just had to bring up Rix and her failed marriage to him.

Deep breath, a gasp in truth.

She was over that. She had spent over a year away from the Arena, wandering far afield to assure she was over that period in her life and the mistake she had made placing her trust in another. She had been fooled once but she had that behind her now.

Elijah's words had cut deep, worse yet because Avery had been there and she had seen the look in his eyes.

Gasp, exhale. Gasp, inhale. An odd stinging in her eyes.

Part of her knew it was her own emotions she was imprinting on Avery. After all, they were friends, if that, why should he care if she had failed at her only attempt at a real relationship?

She tried to straighten up, her body resisting her will by adding in a sharp, stabbing pain in her chest. She refused to acknowledge the burning sensation that seemed centered on her heart and rose to her eyes.

She would go to the Gallery and paint. The owner had given her the use of the attic in exchange for some portraits she created for him. It was her sanctuary and she sought it out now to hide from the thoughts that plagued her.

She stumbled the first few steps, then centered herself. She would walk to the Gallery without outward signs of the pain that twisted her insides. And so it was that she entered the Gallery not far from the Inn, the trail of the single tear that had traversed her cheek making it's journey unseen.

((Author's note== This isn't a closed storyline per se, but please don't take liberties with Red. If you want to post something that your character saw, heard, thought, have at it. Just [please don't misquote or misrepresent (i.e. take out of context) my character when doing so. :-) ))

As usual his mouth got him in trouble. Well, not really in trouble, but he could see how his words effected another. As per his usual demeanor his comments were mostly obnoxious and for the sake of fun, not meant to be personal. He had watched Red's mood change from gay to a bit morbid within moments of a single comment he made. All he did was offer informational knowledge about Red's past unaware how much
she was still pained by her previous marriage to Rix. He remembered Red as a strong formidable woman who usually would eat most men for breakfast for any off colored comment. Yet, this reaction from her made him wonder. He noticed her making eyes at Avery most of the evening. He sat and wondered if it was passing fancy or if she was truely interested in the baron. If she was, the poor girl would find out eventually Avery and Casey were a little
item expecting a child even. After a few moments he stopped feeling bad about how Red changed her moods. It wasn't his fault if people were too thin skinned to handle simple words. Especially, when it was women looking at other guys. Since his return to RhyDin he himself had yet to find a woman worth his attention, who wasn't already involved with another that is it seemed. Little sympathy he had for women who didn't pay attention to him, or
for anyone anymore it seemed for any reason.

((Author's note: Obviously a SL post, not one to the "corkboard". ))

Avery had just finished a duel. A horrible duel in his mind. One that he had lost, which was the reason he hung his head. He knew that losing was going to happen, but it wasn't something he liked. Truth be known, he didn't do it often, and that's why each loss got to him. Yet, moving from the ring he heard her call out. He knew without looking it was Red. Only she called him shorty. The next few moments were played out
to perfection as the two got into an argument over his cookies. Half joking, but half serious, they played off one another, having fun all the time.

Had he just called her a Cookie slut? I believed he did. Yet, both knew it was in fun and games, as they tried not to laugh. Avery had grown to love these times. Red was one of the greatest girls he had met in a long time. Of course it was only recently that he started to meet girls. He was an innocent kid. A virgin until only a few months ago when he met Casey. He was teased almost everyday about it, about the fact he didn't know what many things
were. He had no clue about relationships. He had no clue about monogamy. He was at the age where most men were out experiencing life. A life that usually involved multiple girls. He felt this drive within him. He still looked at other girls, but knew he did love Casey. He loved her within his heart.

He asked to many questions. Mostly because he didn't know to many answers. He only knew fighting. His life had always been centered on that. It was only now that he got mixed up with all this. He didn't know how a girl got pregnant. Which was a big shock to him when he found out. He didn't know if it was okay to have feelings for others. In truth, he didn't know if he did. Yet, he did know he loved to play with Red, and see her smile.

It was right after she told him something about putting his hands on her shirt to read, that he heard Ecore. The news hit him hard, that was for sure, as he just stood there. He could see a change fall over her too, as he watched. The night wasn't the same after that moment. They were both called off to rings, and he never had the chance to talk to her. He was confused. Confused beyond belief. His life was going out of control, and he didn't know the
cause.
