Challenge Reminder

To whom it may concern:

At the hour of 7pm (EST) in the Arena, the Baroness Jaycynda Ashleana will be defending her right to bear the Third against the Warlord Unagi Miyamoto.

Rumor has it betting odds are 2:1 in favor of the Warlord.

This has been a public service announcement.

Well,

What with the fact that the Baron has had three defenses against formidable opponents, including the challenger who defeated the Warlord when he was Overlord, I think the odds are off. It would seem to me more correct to put the odds even. If one wishes to put the Warlord's spotty challenge record into the mix, then the odds might be in favor of the Baroness. I will take a risk and make the odds 1.5:1 in favor of the Baroness.

Percy....

I've never faced Agrenish in a challenge situation... just Topaz, Lucian, and K'yorl.

Just fyi.

3:2 in favor of the Baroness is interesting odds, but one must also consider the impressive streak of peer wins made by Unagi. All told, the safe route would be to call it even-up odds.

That's right. K'yorl. He is just so much like Agrenish in personality I have trouble remembering which is which when they aren't talking.

As long as the Baroness doesn't duel against her challenger the way she always does against me, she should do well.
As for the Challenger, while he did have an impressive run recently, it seems to have tapered off. Though his skill is still quite evident.
I predict that the winner will be whom-so-ever gains their second point first.

Percival:

At the risk of ridiculing you... when you think the odds are wrong, you're supposed to approach the oddsmaker, hiding your grin, and bet an outrageous sum on the person whom you feel is slighted... not tell everyone the odds are wrong.

And, of course, "odds" have nothing to do with talent. They have to do with who the majority of betting folk think will win, and are a means to cause betting action to even out between the two parties.

Ian Rex.

I based this on what seemed to be general public opinion at the time.

To quote myself:"I predict that the winner will be whom-so-ever gains their second point first."

It would appear that I was correct after all... though the Baroness gave a very good accounting of herself. Grand dueling, the both of you.
