Maybe I missed something, but what is wrong with the 1st baron, he is everyone's favorite to challenge, I just wanna know.

I could be wrong, I don't know. However, I am guessing that a very likely reason might be that until he won the ring, I don't think anyone really knew who he was. I know I had never heard of him nor met him til he had become a Baron. As he was not exactly prominent, my first impulse was to wonder why I had never heard of him. My second was the thought that, if I had never heard of him, he probably wasn't much.
Since he has won the crown, I have been watching him. He seems able in the rings and reasonably well spoken, if a litle incautious, outside them. I don't know him well enough to have an opinion of him as a person, but there have been worse Barons.
My guess is that others, having not known or heard of him, had the same impulses that I did and chose to challenge him for that reason.

Well now...
Perhaps my job as Standing's Keeper gives me a rather unique perspective on things... but I've followed the careers of many in the Arena.
After the second round, I saw Baron Turidan as one of the most likely to win a Ring in that Tourney.
I suspect he is perhaps the most underrated member of the Council, especially given his strong performance in the Baron's Tourney not too long ago.
As for Steven Glowacki's challenge to him, I believe that Master Glowacki was also able to see the evident skill and honestly did wish to test himself against a strong opponent that he had never dueled against previously... just as he indicated in his challenge letter.
