Overlord Challenge Results.

On this eve, in the Annex, a goodly crowd witnessed the duel between the Baron of the Twelfth, Avery Shiv Blade and the Thirtyseventh Overlord, Long Wang Lo.

The Overlord dueled wearing the Colors of White and Black, dueling under his Banner of White Stars set over a Black Mountain Range. He fought alone with no second, and no Lady of Honor.

The Baron dueled wearing the Colors of Crimson Red and Bright Gold, dueling under the Banner of House Oakenshield. He fought with no Second, and fought for the honor of his Lady Casey, and their newborn child.

The duel began with much honor and respect, as well as evident skill on the part of both men.

Challenge Match, Round One. Both duelists began the round with caution and precision, yet all the maneuvering proved for naught. ( FSS-FSS )
Challenge Match, Round Two. The Overlord's halberd would normally give him a sizable reach advantage in the strike, but the Baron's skill with the staff allows him to strike as well. ( HC-LC ) Point for each.
Challenge Match, Round Three. The Overlord wheels his halberd with fine precision given the length of such a weapon, yet the quick and sure motion of the Baron's staff prevents further harm from befalling him. ( LC-FCP ) Point for the Baron.
Challenge Match, Round Four. The Baron, confident now, seeks to press the advantage... but he underestimates the speed at which the Overlord can bring his own weapon to bear. ( TH-LC ) Point for the Overlord to tie the match.
Challenge Match, Round Five. The Overlord goes on the defensive this round... but the effort of bringing his halberd into parrying position allows the Baron time to move in and past for the prime position. ( FLP-FDk ) Point for the Baron.
Challenge Match, Round Six. Rising up, the Baron watches almost eagerly for anopening... as the Overlord drops his defence, the Baron strikes with the samemotion as his opponent... the weapons meeting hard, for naught. ( HC-HC )
Challenge Match, Round Seven. Perhaps it is the whispered prayer that the Overlord speaks, or perhaps it is the advantage of his years of experience... whichever it is, it allows his attack to keep the challenger at bay this round. ( TH-LC ) Point for the Overlord, tying the match once more.
Challenge Match, Round Eight. Seeing what he believes to be another attack coming from the Baron, the Overlord swiftly positions his halberd... but this again allows the Baron to move past just as he did in round five. ( FLP-FDk ) Point for the Baron.
Challenge Match, Round Nine. Seeing the Baron still within range, the Overlord looks to tie the duel once more... but a swift and sudden strike from the Baron takes the match. ( LC-TH ) Point and win to Avery Shiv Blade.

Avery Shiv Blade becomes the Thirtyeighth Overlord of the Duel of Swords, while Long Wang Lo declines to accept the Twelfth Ring.

Great job Avery, wish I coulda been there. You deserved it and ya finally got it; I'm happy for ya. Sure did take ya long enough though....::Chuckles:: Anyway, keep it long and, if I'm correct, I think I owe ya a duel. See ya around, overlord.
