Challenges to the Seventh

Lords and Ladies of the Duel of Swords,

Last eve, the fifteenth day of the tenth month, upon the evening hour of eight o'clock, Baron of the Seventh Elijah Eagle Ecore stood in the Annex to face challenge to his title by two Warlords, Jeff Oakenshield and Zamhulem. The Baron fought without Second or Lady of Honor, under a forest green banner with a black sword upon it, entwined with a white rose and a red snake and bearing the mantra "Rest in Reason Move in Passion," and with the blade
Draco, Shard of the Lifestone of Mount Bane. His first challenger, Oakenshield, did duel under the colors of Crimson and Metallic gold, with the double-handed mithril battle axe Chaos, and for the Honor of his wife, Summer Oakenshield, and by his side as Second stood the Overlord, Avery Shiv Blade. Upon learning the Overlord stood for his opponent, the Baron did declare that, should he win out the night, his allignment would change from Neutral to
Renegade.

The first challenge went so:

So the Baron did triumph against his challenger, 6.5 - 5.5 in 12 rounds.

After a brief respite, Warlord Zamhulem did step foreward to press his challenge. Beside the Warlord as Second stood Fyn Mctege, and no Lady of Honor graced the challenger's corner. His blade was the Akwarian broadsword Soulbinder, and his banner a white field with a gold snake and a red snake upon it.

The second challenge went so:

Warlord th lc fdu fcp lc hc lc th sl fss du lc sl dis

The Warlord thus defeated the Baron, 6 - 5 in 14 rounds.

Overlord Avery Shiv Blade did present the new Baron with his ring himself, and the Baron declared the Seventh Loyal to the crown.

Well fought everyone. Two such grueling and closely matched duels in the same night must surely have been an excellent spectacle. Since my retirement from the rings I have been too busy with looking after my responsibilities to attend any challenges, but I have to congratulate everyone. Jeff, it was very well tried. Ecore, it was a superb victory over a very dangerous opponent. Zam, congratulations on your fine
victory! Again, Ecore, very well fought. Both duels do everyone credit.
