(... a rather closed SL)

~:One week ago:~

"A fiance! No!", Vincent looked down at the scroll in his hand. This could not be true...Jade...His Jade...It had taken him so long to find her and now that he had this is what he got?! With the crash of iron he threw his drinking goblet at the door of his study with a scream of rage.
He had not been well. . . not since he had lost her. Her being gone had pleaged his mind for many a night. Only this year had he really gotten close to finding her, with the help of theives and spys and other low lives he had caught up with her... He had sent one of his "servent" to look for her and tell him of how she was...and he had wrote him stateing she was to be married..
"She can not, she needs me. Why is she doing this?" Standing up he pased talking to himself, trying to figure it out. "What is it she feels I am not giving her?" Suddenly it hit him. "She want me to prove I love her.." with a determend face he smiled "I will prove it to you sweet Jade".

~:The Present:~

He had arived a day ago, tired inside and worn but had not went to rest, instead he had headed straight for her dewelling. No he did no let himself be seen... not yet/ He's "servent" had told him well of where to go and now he sat perched in a tree out side of a path she was known for walking upon. He sighed softly waiting. Yes truelly he was mad, not quite sane. But whom would think such? He blended in perfectly, a boyish face with rich chocolate
eyes and smooth shiny dark brown hair. Well fit clothes upon his broad body of 6'0" if not more...ah and his manners, a perfect gentalman. No one would think him ever sitting here in a tree, waiting and watching.
"Ah.." softly he sighed... there she was. Walking down the path, he could see her though not to clearly he knew what lay there. Her silky brown hair, her soft skin... those emeraled eyes. "Sweet Jade..." he whispered as he watched her moves, so graceful, so perfect. She deserves the best, she deserves me... Smiling as he hid in the shadows he watched her move past his tree. His breath had quickled and he though his heart would leap right out of his
chest. He wanted to touch her so badly, to make he see how much he reallyed loved her... and how much she really needed him. His presence was heavy on the air and he only hoped she would not see him... not yet. An animal scampered across her path and she stopped a moment, stanidng right there... right next to his tree. "Sweet Jade" he said silently....

Jade yawned slightly on her way home. She'd stopped by the Arena, just to see what was going on and now it was rather late. She loved the forest, but despised walking through it at night. She wrapped her cloak up around her, being terribly cold. But it wasn't just the wind... it was something else cold that she felt... something else that had been
bothering her lately...
She couldn't stand being watched. It felt like eyes drilling through her. But who's eyes? She brushed the thought out of her mind as she walked on. But it just kept eating at her. She couldn't come to terms with the fact that just maybe Vincent had found her. "No," she said to herself. "There's no way. I ran in the completely opposite direction from him. I have stayed out of sight. There's no way he's found me."
Vincent had always intimidated her... frightened her at times. But she always remained subordinate to him. Her paranoia and complete lack of self-esteem had seen to that. It was that one night when he really lost it that pushed her over the edge. She just had to leave. She thought he'd never her in Rhydin. But now... who knows?
She quickened her pace as she walked on - she hated those woods at night. A rabbit jumped out in front of her, and she nearly screamed. She stopped to let the little one go by, but Jade could just feel a pair of eyes on her neck. After the rabbit moved on, she practically ran home. But what good would that do?

Silently and gracfully he had slipped from the tree, following her quick steps. A pleasent smile came to his face as he was lead straight to her home... His body curcled the house finally taking place just out side of her parlor/livingroom window... watching her step in... A vison of pure bueaty... It took his breath away and his heart ached
painfully.
Yes, Vincent could have other woman, and he had tried to once she left but... none were the same. None had just what she did... that sweetness he craved, craved to control. Leaning his head upon the window he watched her move about, dropping her cloak and puttering around as it seemed. Fear? Nervouseness? Yes, he could smell it eminating from her like a rich aluring purfume....He groaned softly. He wanted her now! To take her, to prove his love and
feel her sweet flesh ripping under his grip..
Shaking his head he did lick his lips with a lonelying. He would wait... wait till the time was right. For now he could be content just her. The way the light hit those silky strand of hair, and the intmase(sp?) of how she muttered to herself, like soft lover's whispers...
He followered her to the next room as she kept puttering around... Where was this supossid love of hers? If he truelly loved her he would not have made he walk home alone... he would be a pure fool not escort her. Who knows what kind of horid things could have happend to her.
She moved on to her bed chambers... He would not watch her anylong... if he did he would be over come and be forced to take her... Instead he moved from her house, watching the candles be lit in her room and the rest put out. He hugged his arms over his chest and closed his eyes, imagining her bueatiful face again. "My love..."
As he passed the front of her house, her dropped what had had with him all eve, hidden in the folds of his cloak. Dropping the long stemmed white rose infront of her door, her fled off to rest, so he could be fresh for her in the morn...

Jade quickly ran inside the house and shut and locked the door. Dropping her cloak, she sat in front of the fire, trying to warm her chilled spirit. But the fear just kept knawing at her. It finally got to her so much, she got up and began pacing back and forth. Jade was now sure of it. Vincent had found her. She was also sure,
however, that she had lost him in the forest.

Now that she was alone, her thoughts plagued her. What would he do? What was on his mind? She could barely even speculate on that. Vincent was an enigma to say the least. The memories of how his mood and countenance could change instantly made her shudder, even with the fire going full blast. One moment he would be smiling and laughing - the next, he would be in a terrible rage. She could almost feel the pain from the bruises she received when he
was in those rages. Jade just knew it was something she must have done to make him so angry. Talking to people he didn't like, not being home when he got home, not wearing the clothes and perfume he wanted - it was always something she'd done. Jade had always taking the beatings and not complained, and it made her sister and brother sick with worry. But now, the thought of Vincent getting his hands on her, made *her* sick with worry.

But... Xeric wouldn't allow it, of course. Where *was* Xeric?? Jade knew that he was going to be gone for a little while, but he was a bit overdue now. That wouldn't normally worry her so much, but in light of what was going on she needed him. She needed him home, she needed him with her. His presence always made things better for her. Perhaps he would be back in the morning. The thought of morning made her realize her need for sleep.
She let the fire go out on its own, and went to bed, though she didn't get much sleep. Maybe... maybe things would get better in the morning.

The merry sound of birds chirpped contently as the sun rose over the land, casting the sky with purple and on to blue. Vincent had woke hours ago from a dream and now sat contently at the windowsil watching the dawn of the new day. He would need to leave his room at the inn soon, he wanted to be there to see Jade wake and find his gift.
As he brushed a hand through his dark hair he looked from the window to his room. He had brought little with him really, a trunk of clothes and another smaller trunk with varies items. But special items. A velvet dress, a small silver framed portret of his love... a small band of silver, that looked more like a collar then a necklace. He had kept everyone of them since she had fled. The porturet had scratch marks on it and a cornor was ripped.
He began to finish dressing while he looked at the small painting... he had tried to hide it to himself but the fact of the matter is he knew she was not as bueatiful as she once had been. Her face was the same as where her wonderful eyes but her manner was diffrent. Sadder in him mind. Sadder because he had not been with her in so long. He had not proved to her how he felt in such a long time.
"Her own fault" he said quietly shaking his head and grabbing his cloak. "She never should have left..."Vincent knew all would be regained once they met... she would get her shyer manner back... the one that in all truth was scared. But to him it was her trying to tease him, to play with him and let him know she loved him.
Brushing himself off, he leaned over and kissed the lips of the painting, like he had done a thousand times before. With a smile on his face he left is room and traveled down to the stalls behind the in where is hourse would be waiting...
The fresh morning hair was brisk on his face as he arived just out of site from Jades house. Tieing the hourse up, he creapt to her bedroom window... she would wake soon and he was dieing to see her again....

Jade was usually one to get up early, but in her present state of mind, more sleep was required to hold on to her sanity. Everything seemed to be going wrong lately, and not just for her. For others that she cared about as well. But harping on badness was doing her no good. She had to get up and she had to run some errands.

Jade got up and did her usual routine. Bath, clothes, hair, breakfast. However, today she forfeited breakfast as she usually does when she's upset. And Jade was certainly upset. The feeling the Vincent was everywhere, watching her, put a fear into her that had not been felt in a while. To put these bad feelings out of her head, she sat and studied her spell books for a while. She'd been so occupied lately that she'd barely touched them.

After a bit, she realized that she had to venture into the outside world if she wanted to get anything done - Vincent or no Vincent. Putting on one of her many cloaks, she opened the front door to see a white rose sitting on the doorstep. She picked it up with a smile, thinking at first that the gesture was from Xeric. Then realizing that Xeric was away at the time, she instantly knew who it was from. With a look of mortal terror on her face, she
dropped it. Immediately scanning the vicinity, Jade searched for Vincent, knnowing he had to be near. Seeing no sign of him, yet having that sinking feeling, Jade beat a hasty retreat back inside. Any errands she had to run were going to have to wait until later. Much later.

Jade had never had it easy, but for once in her life she could say that she was truly miserable. Everything that had happened recently brought her down more and more. Illusia was terribly upset. So was Mystik and Eros was leaving. She had completely embarrassed herself in the Outback when she ran out the door crying. She was being
stalked by her worst nightmare - the nightmare she thought she had left behind.

But to top it all off, the only one who could bring her through this despair was nowhere to be found. Jade loved Xeric with all her heart. She could stand anything from him. Anything, that is, except this. He had done this once before. She had gotten sick with worry and had almost died because of her neglecting food, sleep and other such necessities. They had argued once before about his leaving for unnatural periods of time without giving her word.
The night ended up with him crying saying he was eternally sorry and her crying in his arms saying she forgave him.

But now she was mad. There had been other times when she got a bit annoyed at him, but she had never gotten truly upset. But now her blood boiled. And Jade would make sure that he knew it when he eventually did come back home. If he was even coming back... those questions always made her worry. Nevertheless, she tried hard to go about her daily business, duelling whenever she could and so forth. However, it should have been apparent to everyone
that she was completely miserable. She never was good at hiding her feelings. Especially the feelings of fear she had of Vincent.

"Poor thing...all alone, only me to take care of her now it seems", he spoke to himself watching her as she walked about, near the grounds of what seemed to be a tavern.
He didn't like her out alone, it was far to dangerous, thankfully he was there, to protect her and comfort her. With a smile on his face he dropped from his tree, handy branches had become for him. Never in his youth had he ever thought them this much fun. With almost boyish smile he set on ward...
The time had come... He would let himself be known. Maybe he would not prove his love here and now, but only to let her know he was here. Ease the tension, confusion, stress, and fear that seemed to be in her body, it was a sickeingly sweet thing and he would relish in it. He would show her even if this man that had said he loved her was away, someone was here to take care of her.
The one person that trully loved her, that sall what she needed. A good stricked hand, tight on a leash, someone to "help" her control her life so she wouldn't screw it up. Him.
It was just before night fall and the air was brisk, perfect in his grand opinion. His hair was combed back, a few waves along the sides by his ears, unflawed skin warmed with the thought of her touch. His eyes were gleaming as he neared her, she was leaning over...seemed to be fiddeling with her cloak. Ah and she was alone...as it always seemed. Alone even in a crowed room because he was not there.
His hand touched her shoulder with a tingle, firmly pulling at it though not too rough, his heart beat fast and steady, the darknees of his eyes opened into diolation...That rich velvety voice flowed from soft but crule lips......"Jade..."

At Vincent's touch, Jade completely froze. Her eyes widened in fear and her blood ran cold. She turned around and backed away, positively recoiling at the thought of him touching her again. She prayed that her fear didn't show through, but she knew it did. She could barely get any words out, and her eyes almost prayed for mercy. She
quickly looked around. No one was there. This time she'd have to fend for herself. Sometimes her sister or brother would help her, but Xeric was no where to be found, so Jade was on her own. She tried to look at him, but ended up keeping her eyes low to the ground. "I don't… uh… really think you should be here. Things… are different… now." She managed to make slight eye contact and smiled nervously. "I… I'm to be… married, you know."

Jade continued to back up slowly. She figured she might just get out of this yet. She tried to explain that they should go their separate ways, but as usual, he wouldn't take no for an answer. Her fear grew as he began to grow angry. She could hear it in his voice, she could see it in his face, but he still kept insisting that he loved her and that she needed him - needed his guidance and control. As she backed away her finally grabbed her arm, and
continued to say she was nothing without him. Jade's fright increased as his grip on her arm increased. "Let… please let… me go. You… you're hurting me…"

He simply cept shaking his head... she loved him, he had seen it in her wide eyes when she had turned. What a vison that was... but now, such strange words she was speaking. She was so very self distructive with out him. Wanting to be left alone, sepreate when he had just gotten here. Surely she was just thinking unclearly.
Holding her arm still, firmly in his hand, his all to familar fingers pressed into her though the fabric of her clothing, pulling her closer and tighter.
"I would never hurt you, don't be foolish," his words where comman enough but the undertone in which he spoke would send a chill down anyone's spine. "I have come to protect you Jade.... You should not be out here alone...and you know that, you should not be out here at all."
Almost careing it could be if taken out of context((sp)) but this was Vincent and his words where clipped and sharp. Why must she try to upset him like this?
"Jade... love, you are not thinking clearly... You should get home..." his voice had come more breathy and he reached a hand up, srokeing a soft wave of her hair almost tenderly... though inside he wanted to pull her hair, to pull her out and way with him...Where he could prove himself, where she would finally understand.
It was almost painful to him to hear her words of deniel in love but he could not let it get to him... she would learn in time...slowlly letting go of her arm he gazzed at her a few more bueatiful moments.."I love you Jade..."

When Vincent let her go, she figured she take the opportunity. Jade saw he was beginning to get violent. He always seemed to be upset with her, and she knew that since she left him, he would become more angry than usual. Jade took a few steps back, not wanting to be in his grasp again. She turned and walked fast enough to be out of
his line of sight in a minute or so.

Things were really going terrible for her. Earlier that day, she had embarrassed herself in front of Mystik in the Inn. She tried to keep her emotions in check long enough to see how Mystik was doing, but Mystik ended up being concerned about her. Xeric was no where to be found, and billions of ideas about what might have happened swirled through her head. Vincent was not going to give up any time soon. Nightmares plagued her mercilessly. At this
rate... Jade was going to have little to live for...
