Despair... ((Jade))
From: jade4634@aol.com (Jade 4634)
Date: 06 Nov 1999 21:16:25 EST
Jade walked into the Inn, a tad unsteady on her feet. After suffering a defeat by Serilious, which was more a psychological defeat than anything else, Jade had enough. Not even the comedic lines by Gnort could cheer her up any further. Her day had been horrendous. Running constantly from Vincent would make anyone a nervous wreck.
Her sister had arrived, offering her much needed support, but Sera had problems of her own. She'd received not a word from Xeric. He had made a fool out of her, she figured. But then again, who hadn't lately? So by the time Jade walked into the Inn that night, she was really done for emotionally.
Jade didn't drink. It wasn't good for her. Her sister, Sera, knew that and never pressured her. Xeric knew better than to even discuss the issue. But when Jade wandered over to the bar, that bottle of gin, or was it whiskey, was looking very good. At first, she couldn't stand the taste. How could anyone in their right mind drink it? But after discovering the temporary solace that bottle seemed to provide, she drank that one, and another two. What
the other two bottles were full of, Jade wasn't particularly sure. But it mattered not at that point. Jade stumbled out the door, recognizing the need to stop even in her state. Now if she could just remember which door she'd stumbled out of...

~:Moments earlier:~
After Jade had left so quickly that night he had stayed away... locked in his room in one of the Inns..only leaving to watch her a few hours a day at most. Her words had gotten to him, his paicents((sp)) wearing more and more. She was so out of control... she didn't see.
"She doesn't see!" he yelled throwing his cloak dwon. It was even and he was pasing the length of his room. Her picture lay throw down on the floor, the fram broken and the image tore to the point it was un fixable... everything he had brough lay thrown around the room. broken, jummbled and left. His fits were more intense then before, he would start thinking about her... and then he would loose it.
Only an hour ago he had been eating dinner and smiling but now...
"Jade... why don't you see? I love you.. " He wanted to wait but... he could not... the state he was in had gone too far. Stopping in the middle of the room he leaned over to her broken picture, taking the cloth like painting up. The small pice in his hand her face stared up, smiling softly as it always did for him. He held the cloth losely and leaned over, kissing where her pained lips... he heaved a sigh and brough himself to his feet. Gathering
his cloak on and slipping the cloth in his pocket... umoung((SP)) other things. He would go now... just to see her...
~:Now:~
The search did not take long before he caught up with her... but somethign was wrong. He could hardly belive his very eyes as he watched his beloved stummble from a tavern.... drunk! like a comman day whore!
Rage build up inside him and he dismounted from his hores, leaving it as he walked through the small length of space till he stood no less then 6 feet from her. Her. This... drunken whore! This was all her fault! all her fault! She can't control herself! She doesn't want me she needs me. If only she could see! Why can't you see??!!
With fists clenched at his sides he looked down at her wobbely form, his back straight and his eyes cold upon her face. He steped closer and looked down upon her... His mind running too fast... Must I prove it now? Are you going to force me to make you understand... This is not the right time... you are fourcing me... His breath was quicker and anger flowed on the air near his body. Must I prove my love now?... must I keep proving it again and
again?! You need me!! He took in a breath and finall whispering under his breath...."Why don't you see..."

Jade didn't really recognize the danger she was in, considering her state at the time. Nonetheless, Jade wanted nothing to do with him, and therefore started to walk away... or stagger away. When he grabbed her, Jade started to understand that Vincent was losing it. "Look," she said slowly, hiccuping in between, "I'm not... feeling
very... well. I've had... a miserable ::hic::... month. Just... just go, huh?"
She prayed that she would be able to get rid of him, just this once.

Vincent stood there a long time... stareing...his breath growing fast as anger built more and more...
"You fool!" he finally yelled, gripping her arms tight enough bruises would stain her the next morning. "Look at you! Your drunk!" he was shaking her now, as if trying to knock some sense into her. Harder and harder he gripped her arms as he easily shook her, like some kind of rag doll. "Why don't you see Jade? Why?!"
Finally his anger was to much and he litteraly threw her down, shoving her to the ground... where she belonged. "You..."he had no more words, his anger was to much. She was looking up at him with that familar tired, saddness in her once sober and bueatiful eyes. "You are worthless...I hardly see why I bother with you..."with those words his hand grazzed harshly and quickly across her face.
His figure grew blury in her eyes as he walked off into the night... later he would take this as another of her tests...one which, he had passed well.

Several days had passed since the incident. Jade always said that nothing was wrong and that things would get better whenever someone commented on her bruises. She never did get around to healing her wounds, however, and probably wouldn't until...
He returned. On a cool afternoon on her way home a voice called out to her. She stopped immediately, as she would've recognized her love's voice anywhere. She turned to see Xeric, battered and bruised and generally cut up, standing there watching her. Any anger that Jade might had about his leaving turned into sympathy and sorrow as she cried and fussed over his lacerations. Apparently he had gotten into a fight with an orc. How he managed to make
trouble so easily she never knew. Nonetheless, after a bit of explaining she used her magic to heal him - ironic as she didn't heal herself.
They embraced for a while, until Xeric saw her bruises and got indignant. He wouldn't let her keep quiet so Jade explained the whole situation to him. She frowned as she could see the anger building up inside him, and he finally led her home, not wanting her to be out in the open in such a state.
After healing her, they sat down to talking for a while and catching up on and understanding recent matters. Finally, losing both focus and control, they spent the night in each other's arms.
Jade awoke in the morning to find him gone as usual. It was routine for him to leave early, and she didn't mind. Humming, she got herself together for the day ahead - happier than she'd been in weeks. She set off to run her usual errands about noon humming, and nearly glowing. Perhaps things were starting to look up after all.

Silence. There couldn't be anything more deadly then silence. That is what had filled Vincent's mind and body since he had left her. Pure un-condistional(sp) silence....
Teasing, she was doing more then teasing him now, she was trying to hurt him. Useing that toy of her's, Xeric, that was his name wasn't it? He had watched her cry, fuss and talk with her toy... all to spite his anger! Beyond a tease, that is what she was.... Well he would take no more of this, no more...
She walked along that same path he had seen her the first day, her happy face forcing a soild block of ice into his belly. The senseatice, gental and kind look he so often desplaid for people...it was gone, far far beyond gone. As everything else this too was her fault.
She had almost acted as if she did not need him...but that was foolish.Darkness had taken on his chocolate colored eyes and want, need, desire and control rose strong and fierce into his body.
In the broad day, sun beating down even in the chilled weather he followed her...through the woods, down the path...on her way to finish out her day. She wouldn't make it though, not if he had anything to say about it.
He would prove his love/anger to her and she would understand, she would see at last! The pure animal hunger of antisapation was reaking from every pore of his being. Yes, wonderful it would be...
He was out in the open matching her pace but staying back a bit, she turned and looked at him... Could she see it? Sense it? The silence inside him. Maybe for she quicked her pace... Yes she could see the silence, the love he had for her.
Swift as she may have been he was all the quicker, lean and fast he ran after her so eased in the chase. His love would remain no matter when he caught her.
"Jade, do not be a fool. I love you", he had her now, simply reaching out, he grabbed her arm and pulled her to a hault....pulling her close and tightly to him. "I love you and will prove it to you" his eyes were diolated, oppend so very wide and stareing down at her glittery ones. The smirk upon his face was cold and all, all too familar....

((It seems my post of the below was too "graphic" by the rules of TOS and such, so here's the re-written version if you didn't get a chance to see the other...))
She did try to push away from him, she screamed, she scratched and she even tryed to kick him... but he was all too powerful.
"You don't want to do this...you don't" she was saying, whimpering and all out pledding. Reality to the extream had set into her. He was beyond dangerous, and beyond sane and she saw this more clearly then ever.
"I have to make you see Jade," he continued to repeat over and over."You must see sweet Jade"
She yelled and screamed and tried to get away all through the ordeal, but to Vincent it was music. Her sweet crys...all thanking him as she was bruied emotionaly and other. If she had only held still his hand would not have come to her neck, holding her down as he hurt her in the way no man ever should. Ah but it was love he was proving, his undieing love for her with this act of pure giveing......how ever savage it was.
"I hate you!' she had screamed and so her air was cut and his mind went into a daze. Hate...hate...hate...
He was stepping back... she had went silent...limp, hurt ...all that could be told of her screams and pain, for those glitterly eyes were closed and she was silent...but alive.
Passed out, a blessing for her a sourse of anger for him. He stared...slowly shaking his head.."Hate." He looked only a moment more and passed on into the woods... fleeing... ..leaving her unconsuis form, in painful Silence...

::The clouds above thundered out of rage, the dampness of the night, only fueled that rage. His eyes glinted with many lifetimes of experience. He remembered the first time he drew blood in anger. Jade had told him that she couldn't stop Vincent, that he was to strong. The clouds again raged out in thunder.
She lay before him in his bed, where she would stay until he could get his hands on Vincent. He thought to himself, "He can hurt her, let him try it on me." The thunder continued to rage throughout the night, as he waited for her to awake or for Vincent to move again. He did only what he could, waited.
