Community of DoS,

I shall be facing Methous tomorrow night at 8:00 pm by da eastern reckoning. I have fought many great battles in my time here. Sometimes I fought fer myself or a friend, other times fer an Overlord or fellow warlord, but never before have I fought fer all of DoS. I have been chosen by a council ta perform a duty. I must prevent Methous from being able ta attain a rank he so terribly dishonored. Long have I waited fer an opportunity ta avenge
what was done ta da 8th ring, now I have my chance. I will make good on my one opportunity, and I invite all of ye ta come watch. So without further adieu...

What: Test of Methous fer da right ta be able ta challenge fer a Baronial ring in future times
Who: Jeffrey Oakenshield, longest holder of da 8th Barons' Ring vs. Methous, dishonorable twit who attempted ta destroy da 8th Barons' Ring
When: Thursday, 8:00 pm
Why: Methous, back from da dead, dares ta one again be eligible fer a ring
How: My big arse axe cleavin' big dents in his tiny skull which houses an even tinier brain

Come bring food, drink, tar, and feathers so we can all get drunk and make sure Methous stays dead after da match.

I am ready Methous, fer yer sake I pray you are.

Reading the formal announcement, she smiles, then pens a short note to tack to the boards.

Best of luck Jeff. My prayers will be with you, may the gods guide you mind, arm and weapon. The Council made a very wise decision in their choice of you. We all know you will do your utmost with honor.

Mystik Silverhand

The note posted to the cork, she moves away, hoping she will be there to witness this piece of history.

::Tacks it up::

You couldn't defeat Eros, I did, so I still have a chance. The time for words is over, Angel will do my talking for me.

I am sure this impresses Jeff as much as it does me. Maybe you have a chance. He could have a coronary while rolling on the floor laughing.

Methous said, "You couldn't defeat Eros, I did, so I still have a chance. The time for words is over, Angel will do my talking for me," to which Percival replied, "I am sure this impresses Jeff as much as it does me. Maybe you have a chance. He could have a coronary while rolling on the floor laughing."

Or too many people could clap Jeff on the shoulder before the duel and injure him. Or Jeff could rightly assume this isn't even a sweat-breaker and get drunk beforehand...

Or Summer could... wear him out before he arrives.

Regards,
Ian Rex.

Ian says, "Or Summer could... wear him out before he arrives."

This, by far, would be the most entertaining injury for any man, to have his lady wear him out.

Fondly,

This is true, and I should have considered it before tacking up my answer to Methous. I must admit that he is one of the people who really burns me the wrong way. He is on a short list of people who can goad me into behaving in ways I prefer not to.
My remark was not intended so much to pat Jeff on the back as to belittle Methous, which was really completely out of line. I apologize to everyone. Even Methous.

Why?

Methous is an idiot. I'm sure Ian meant that there were other ways Jeff could be injured beforehand to give that slacker moron Methous some minisule chance.

If all the idiots were killed, and stayed dead, unlike Methous, the world would be a happier place.

Unfortunately, we must have those of lesser intellegence to prove those of us, like me, are higher forms of Intellegence.

Just because someone didn't beat someone means that they absolutely can't. The many times I dueled Jeff, he beat me. However, I did eventually get a win or two against him.
Anyone can beat anyone else on any given day. To say, "I beat someone whom you lost to" is a lousy justification for your chance of winning.
Fact is, you can win, albeit with a slim chance. In either case, your method of logic to determine your chances of beating Jeff has lowered my opinion of you even more... I honestly didn't think that was possible at this point.
