Challenge Results of the Eighth
From: rdistormi@aol.com (RDI Stormi)
Date: 29 Dec 1999 20:28:33 EST
Let it be known...
Upon the 28th day in the month of December, Warlord Galin Taelca did press his challenge to Loyal Baroness Ariadne Angeles for the right to wear the 8th Baronial Ring of the Duel of Swords. As friends, family, and guest arrived the Baroness did agree to duel without intercession by the Overlord.
Baroness Angeles dueled as Retainer to the House of Miyamoto. Her colors worn were that of sky blue with the white cherry blossoms of House Miyamoto. Baron Unagi Miyamoto stood as her friend and Second that evening and she dueled for the honor of her Lord and future husband, Ryan Emiritus Havoick the III.
The Warlord, Galin Taelca did duel under the colors of House of Oor~Tael, turquoise and silver bearing two crossing fireballs centered upon his chest. Standing as his Second was the Loyal Baron and his good friend, Var Medici~Giovanni. Galin's weapon of choice was a new longsword, Judgment, forged from the materials of Vanquished and Disruptor. Galin dueled for the Honor of the House
Oor~Tael.
The match proceeded as follows in Ring Honor.....
RD 1: Angel and Galin both cut in high, blades clashing center ring!
RD 2: Angel sweeps in low, tripping Galin as he tries to fancily edge to the side. 1-0 Angel
RD 3: Angel now steps back, bounce evident in her step (Fancy), and walks dab nab into the swinging high cut of Galin! 1 All
RD 4: Galin lunges at the same time Angel reaches in, both burying their swords hilt deep in mutual thrust! 2 All
RD 5: Angel sweeps in low, only to find Galin's blade coming in just as low as they meet in matching low cuts!
RD 6: Angel turns a Fancy lateral parry that Galin tears to shreds with a slashing Judgment! 3-2 Galin
RD 7: Dual thrust again, each losing a bit of air as the blades pierce deep! 4-3 Galin
RD 8: Angel turns a parry, but alas, it is the wrong way as Galin's low cut sweeps in under the lateral parry to take the win! 5-3 Galin
Galin Taelca defeats Ariadne Angeles, 5-3 in 8 rounds.
Galin Taelca has earned the right to wear the Eighth Baronial Ring, which was presented to him by Overlord Avery Shiv Blade. Galin declares his alignment as Loyal to the Overlord.

Nice little, Siddie. Criticizing people for their grammar. Great job.

Actually, Sid,
I think Drey was criticizing you for trying to insult someone and his illiteracy, after you said to Jona in another post that "small minds discuss people."
Of course, I could be wrong, and I hope Drey will clarify it if my words misrepresented his thoughts. Just something I noticed, and was beaten to the punch of mentioning it.

Var and Drey~
I can see your point there. I guess it's a sticky subject, since Jonalyn's words were lies and, well...am I lying that this man cannot write coherantly? Ah, well...something to ponder.

Lies, whatever. You should regard a persons point, even if it is totally unreadable. And even if it is unreadable, he/she deserves no insults directed at him for grammar. Insulting ones grammar is cowardly, and I find it distasteful.
It doesn't matter if you were lying or not, and whether Jonalyn lied, for she is irrelevant upon this subject. I'm assuming what Var meant by "Small minds discuss people" which came from your own pen, is that no matter the writing, it is 'crappy' of you to criticize someone's grammar.

Drey~
All I'm saying is, is it too much to ask to at least be *somewhat* coherant? They don't have to be eloquent, but for the gods' sakes, I would have discussed the point he/she was trying to make if I could *find* the point. I couldn't make out a single thought from it.
Of course, I'll keep that cowardly comment in mind once something like this happens again (and it usually does) and someone else, say Gnort, makes the comment and gets completely ignored.

If it is too much of a problem for yourself reading whoever's remarks, go out of your way and teach him instead of ridiculing him.
And about, G, I would do the same, no doubt. He shouldn't be treated no different than any other individual, and if it does happen, please, point it out.
He would argue that point of course, with the "I'm the greatest man alive." Or something of the sort.
He's an idiot, much like myself.
In jest,
Or is it?

Would I say to G the same thing I said to you, Sid? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on my mood, and whether or not I'd rather invest my time doing such. Then again, I don't think G would try to shut someone up with words of wisdom and then contradict his own words soon after to try to impress something upon other people.
If you truly believed in that creed you wrote, I would imagine you would write something saying to the extent of "Your words aren't very clear. Could you please rewrite them so they're easier to understand?" Then again, maybe you just wrote those words to try to get Jona to be quiet. In either way, it's up to you, because you can post whatever you want, just as anyone else can; if it happens to fit my fancy, I might even speak up and say
something about it, just as I did to you.

Var...
Shut up.
I just want you to tell me what you think.
Was that contradictive enough?
And yes, Drey. I am the greatest, you are indeed an idiot, and all is right in the word because of that.
Have a psuedo-day. :)
