Second Baron's Ring

On the evening of January 18, the match to decide the holder of the Second Baron's Ring was held.

Warlord Cassius Maximius was the challenger. He dueled with his gladius, the weapon Imperator. His colors were those of HDT and his banner was marked with the Imperial standard of Rome. His second was Gaius Marius Colestae, and his Lady of Honor was his wife, the Lady Laylla HellStorm Maximius.

Renegade Baron Cletus Ganderfald entered the match as holder of the Second Baron's Ring. He dueled with his father's sword, Hralfgar. His banner was the flag of Polaris, black with a red star on the center. His second was Bryena Tyree, and his Lady of Honor was his wife, the Lady Arane. He also dueled in the honor of his son, Zenith.

Thus, Cletus defended the Second Baron's ring from his challenger after some grand dueling. My personal thanks to both duelists for allowing me to call this, my first challenge match.

No excuses. Cletus Ganderfald was the better duelist tonight. Cletus, congratulations on your victory, and despite our political and personal differences, I wish you the best of luck on your reign as baron of the 2nd from here on out. Val, thank you for calling. I believe this was your first challenge match. You did admirably well. I've had matches called plenty of time by both your mother and father with skill and professionalism, and if tonight
was any indication, the family tradition is in safe hands. To all who supported me, thank you, and if you feel let down, my apologies, tonight just wasn't my night. I feel my career, while hardly fresh and wet-behind-the-ears anymore, still has a long road ahead of it. Simply put, I will return to the Council again one day. Avery, as I told you earlier, no matter what my rank, you always have my loyalty friend.

Now, I'm going to help celebrate the opening of that keg.
