I believe that Adonai always held himself as someone important in the Swords Community. He is hardly an "old timer" And the "old days" he's thinking about is no doubt the times around when I first started.
As usual, he's just blathering on so he can think he's someone special.
I know I never asked him about what he's going to do about anything. One reason, because he couldn't do anything, and I wouldn't want him to. If he were in any such position, it'd surely make the Arena a worse place for his insane jabberings.
Personally, I hope he stays away. The Arena is a better place for it.

Adonai,
One should walk in the light of one's glory in words and deeds and not look to other's brightness but to know your own light shine true to oneself and is honorable and Good in all..as it is written in the holy book let your light so shine before man that they may see your good works and glory your God in heaven.

For the record, I never asked Adonai anything. Why would I? I suppose it's every Warlord except me.

PS: I was a Warlord long before you arrived, Adonai, and I'm not of the glory days. Try not to forget reality.

Madame Silvertree,
Rest assured, neither thee nor Uzie Poo were present to witness the past glories 'o th' Duel 'o Swords.
I, for one, am nae surprised thee wouldst opine that thee may take pride in th' achievements thee hae witnessed. One who hast nae knowing 'o wh' true 'onor an' glory be may continue blithely on in ignorance.
Uzie Poo,
Thine comment ist vastly amusing to whit, "....those that imbued honor and deciet (sic) and warfare so deeply in this hall that its valor and infamy will ALWAYS be what those that wish to -say- they were part of it, will try to imitate."
Thou art and shall ALWAYS be merely a pale imitation, a Johnny come lately wanna be th' ne'er e'er was. I wouldst opine th' ta only speculation wh' may be rampant might be either th' odds lain 'pon wagers ast ta whether th' be yuir fifth 'er sixth return or ta number 'o yawns ta news shall elicit from ta patrons.

Tell me Cass, what exactly, have you done, to get the flow of challenge moving? Your sitting on 20+ peer wins, and gripe about no challenges all the time. Why not challenge? If you did get a ring, it would spawn another challenge, from me. That would be help to the flow, but bitching, does little to nothing.

Lady Starfare.
I have kept this vow to myself for too long... no longer can I swear that I will not insult you. You are not deserving of such an oath.
Your opinion means less to me than the opinions of people I have not yet met.
The average town drunk has more insight and clarity of speech than you.
Of all the people still alive from the "Glory Days", your opinion means the least. Your contributions can be listed in less time than it takes to name all the Warlords who have achieved more than five hundred wins over losses.
Your sole occupation these days has been to pick apart every person and action that does not meet your fancy... and should any of those who do meet your fancy ever dare have a differing opinion from yours, you add them to your ever expanding list of "blights upon the Duel of Swords"
Rather than making any attempt to teach people how you think things should be, you sit upon your barstool and denounce everything around you.
In short, you make me ill. Your very presence dims the air.
If you truly feel the glory days are gone, then take yourself and go with them. Things can only improve in your absence.
Lady Drake, aka the Gryphon.

"Your contributions can be listed in less time than it takes to name all the Warlords who have achieved more than five hundred wins over losses."
Jonalyn has made contributions, Drake, at least in my opinion. There are many times when she introduces very old duelists from times long before you and I, to the "younger" duelists. While Rix isn't exactly new, I recall hearing him being introduced to MadMadMax by Jona a short time ago. One instance I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm not around the arena all the time to know everything she has done.
"and should any of those who do meet your fancy ever dare have a differing opinion from yours, you add them to your ever expanding list of "blights upon the Duel of Swords""
I, personally, have disagreed with Jona or admitted ignorance to things in the arena. I also have friends and possibly a teammate or two whom Jona did not like. While it can be argued differing opinions isn't exactly the same as "guilty by association," it can be looked into the perspective that in my opinion, Person X is okay, while Jona thinks that person's a jerk.
"If you truly feel the glory days are gone, then take yourself and go with them. Things can only improve in your absence."
Jona's one of the last people on my list of people whom I think the arena would benefit from leaving; of course, that's just my opinion. I have no claims of knowing what's good or bad for the arena. I will, occassionally, make those judgments on my own, and I'll sometimes say what I think if I feel like it. When I do feel like saying or doing something, it means that I think it's the right thing to do.
The fact is, Drake, you're as clueless as I am when it comes to "what will truly make the arena better." As much as I'd like to think my say will have a drastic effect, it is only my opinion, after all.

Reading this, I would think you have a point, if I did not have the knowledge that you yourself have all the requirements to challenge, and refuse to, mainly for two reasons: One, because you're still kicking yourself for your hilarious screwup, and Two, You know good and well that should you win by some terrible freak of nature, I *will* challenge you...you having even admitted to me yourself this
was a reason-though I will take this time to admit I would have given you a two to three week "breathing space" as Baron-a respect I highly doubt you would have paid me.You know what to do if you wantme to challenge. Oh, and I'm also in t he Arena every weekend.

Drakey Poo,
Madame, ye claim to hae made a vow unto thineself that thee wouldst nae insult me.
How amusing, Madame, for thee hae nae ceased to offer insult. Of course, perhaps that be merely that by thine verra drawing of breath thee be insult personified. Certes ast to yuir managing to keep a vow, anna vow, tis nae surprise thee wouldst consider e'en yuir own word nae worth keeping.
Madame, perhaps it hast nae filtered though that addled brain 'o yuirs, that I care nae a whit whether mine opinions matters to thee. I am nae in need of sycophants, though it wouldst appear from thine usual pleadings and whining thee feel some need to find acceptance.
Perhaps tis thee seek yuir insight from the average town drunk, Madame. That wouldst mayhap excuse or explain why thee come up with yuir wild notions.
In that thee know nothing of mine accomplishments, Madame, thee shall pardon me if I pause here to laugh. Unlike thee, Madame, I hae nae abiding need to boast nor to be lauded. Perhaps tis yuir own insecurity what causes thee to need such acceptance, Madame.
Shall I list yuir accomplishments, Madame Silvertree? T'would be a pity to hae ta decimate a small grove 'o trees to do all yuir accomplishments justice.
Mine fancy, Madame? Surely you jest. What be the matter, Drakey Poo? Canna thee accept that thou art nae omnipotent? Canna thee accept that yuir constant pleadings and attempts for recognition be but the piteous bleating of yuir starving soul? Be thee nae aware that thou art little more than a pitiable wench what hast done little but make a mockery 'o what these ancient halls and this ancient sport truly be? Canna thee acept that thou art and
shall always be a mere cog in ta wheel, albeit a poorly made one, what causes bumps in ta road that leads toward the light that once radiated from these ancient halls?
Madame, what hae thee taught, pray tell? By thine example, Madame, thou hast taught that one need nae do her job with competence but may demand respect and thanks for it. Thou hast taught utter disdain and disregard for tradition. Thou hast taught that one need nae accept responsibility for ones deeds but may cast blame elsewhere by thine continual pleadings that because someone else did it and wast nae caught out that thee shouldst ast well nae
be called to task.
Improve Madame? What dost thine presence improve save the deepening of the blight.
Pity I do, Madame, anna what be fool enow to succumb to thine teachings.
Tis nae surprise thee wouldst wish those what hae the gumption to take thee to task for thine follies to depart. Perhaps were I and other to do so, thee might actually manage to gull those new come to the basement into believing thee be someone of import.
Yuir sole occupation for years, Madame, hast been to deny yuir responsibility to this community, whimper and back pedal when thee be caught, and decry and declaim against those what hae brought yuir perfidy to the light of day.
If thou art going to be ill, Madame, kindly spew in yuir own 'ome an' nae excrete yuir drivel in these ancient halls. Thee hae already cast a taint 'pon yuir calling what may take years ta wipe away. Yuir little more than a laughable caricature of what true honor be, Madame.

It worries me how easily our Standings Keeper discards, vows, oaths sworn unto herself. It's further proof that her words mean nothing and any promises she may make are vacant. I understand, now, why she thought me "childish" to stand by my oath during a Warlord Tourney. She has no comprehension of vows, oaths, or any such thing.

Patrons,
I've overly let this run without response because I have no will or need to play games with people that respond to truth aggressively.
I will not, and refuse to backlash my opinion on anyone for having placed theirs here.
Needless to say. I will return full force one day. And mayhaps then....we will see justice to those that have very little left but hearing themselves speak.
I do not, and have never needed approval from others. Needless to say my reputation as a duelist is not built on the fact that everyone likes me. This is something I can live with. Those of you that can't....will just have to deal with it. This includes you Jesse. Someone who's never been more than a bad attitude and wild attempt to be someone hes not.
My thanks for any kind words. And I hope that one day I will be able to compete...in true competition within our halls.

::sadly reads the words bandied back and forth from those who do and don't know Adonai. He ponders the words concerning the "glorious days" and the statement whereas none but the ancient know of these "Honorable" days. With a sigh, he recalls the days of Prudence, Luthien and Althlstan.
