Zafiroo Turidan 4-0
Deluthan Ev'rt 0-1

The Baron has been on a tear when it comes to challenge matches. Add to that he took second place to get this ring, and you have a pretty impressive streak. One factor he has going for him is that he never shows up, and so people find it hard to judge his fighting style. One disadvantage is that his name makes him sound like he is handicapped.

The warlord got screwed in his last challenge, and was forced to face one of the toughest duelers of all time. He has some good skills, as is obvious from his posted wins. He is the smaller of the two, and will have to use all his speed to counter.

This duel will go long, and that doesn't bode well for the warlord. He smokes, and this could become a factor in the later rounds, as he starts sucking air.

The odds are 5-2 in favor of the Baron.

I will pay out 10-1 for the exact score, or 5-1 if you can guess the exact spread either way. If you guess the number of rounds that is 10-1 also. The odds for the exact score and rounds are 25-1. Odds of 5-1 will be given if you can pick the total combined score at the end of the match. If you have another bet you wish to make, just contact me, and I will give you the odds.

As always should more information come up the odds could change, but for now they are set. The bet is not legal until the first round has been called.

Bets can be sent to me, or left upon the board. Collection, and payment will happen after the match.

The Baron will win the duel.

As separate bets, I expect the score to be 5-3.5 in favor of the Baron and the duel to last 10 rounds.

I have 200 gold pieces on the Warlord topping the Baron.

50 gold pieces that the score will be 5-4, Deluthan.

Go Deluthan. Now I've money on you, pal.

This is a sporting arena, not a den of gambling.

All right. With further thought, I retract my previous statement. I have no problem with gambling-we Romans were the first to perfect it, after all- and have done it in the Arena before. I just didn't want it to become the primary reason for challenges.

Only difference is, the Romans used to toss unarmed Christians into the pit with lions and bet on who would die first or last.

Actually Billy, that is incorrect. We did invent the lottery, though.

No, you didn't. While you were still picking berries in the Etruscan Hills, the Greeks used a lottery for the annual rite of ostrakismos (from whence we derive the term ostracism).

Pedantically,
Ian Rex.

I meant lottery as a form of gambling for money.

" 'Picking berries in the Etruscan hills?' Oh the visual!"

I can see what's starting to happen already.

Morgan-laugh at the visual all you want, just remember your brother wouldn't have been king of anything if not for Roman reprioritization and misguided Christian kindness.

Ian, next time you use the sophisticated title of "Rex", remember the mere foliage gatherers in the Italian hills who brought that title into the world's vocabulary. My apologies, but I tend to get a little uptight on this subject.

You do not like to think that your ancestors were once hunter-gatherers like (most) everyone else's ancestors? You really are quite full of yourself, eh?

Leave me to my humor, boy, you really have no idea why I found the phrase to be amusing. This really was not something to get in such a self-righteous snit--I can think of many other insults that get cast in your direction to get lathered up over, but not this one.

Yeah, well my boys back in England will kill everyone. So what do you say about that? Now then... tea time.
