First Baronial Ring
Challenge Results
Deluthan Ev'rt -vs- Zafiroo Turidan

Nineteenth Day of the Fourth Month, Ninth Hour

Let it be known that tonight I bore witness to the challenge of Baron Zafiroo Turidan by Warlord Deluthan Ev'rt.

Challenge was pressed to the Baron. Overlord Avery Shiv Blade interceded on behalf of Turidan, whereby renegade Baron of the Second Ring, Cletus Ganderfald, stepped in for the Warlord. Cletus emerged victorious, in a decisive nine round, five to one score over Avery - giving Deluthan the opportunity to enter the official ring.

Warlord Deluthan, his Second Xerzes Helmut Maureen, Lady Gracyen his Lady of Honor, raised a bastard sword in salute to the Baron. I reckon Zafiroo's Second Spike u'Shell, his banner royal blue etched with silver, the weapon being his Corundum blade. The Warlord fought Turidan to yet the same nine rounds as Cletus did Avery, this final match ending with a score of five to two in Deluthan Ev'rt's favor!

As a sanctioned official of the Arena, I hereby declare Warlord Deluthan Ev'rt now Baron Deluthan Ev'rt of the Duel of Sword's First Ring by fair and just combat. The ring has been passed. The new Baron aligns himself as renegade to the Overlord, Avery Shiv Blade.

Congratulations to the new Baron.

Why'd you use intercession, Avery?

Politely,

Thanks to everybody who attended. It was an experience which will remain with me for as long as this mind functions. Janella, thank you for your delightful calling and presence. Gracy, Xerzes, thank you for your kind support. Baron Ganderfald, thank you as well.

Overlord Shiv Blade,
I stated an assumption in my declaration of stance last night that could have very well have been false, and I apologize for that. I was a bit overzealous with my victory, and my qualms were with the former baron, not you. I try to discipline myself not to act on assumptions, and I understand your need to help your loyals when they ask. I had decided on my alignment prior to the event, and do not wish to mislead anyone that what I said last night
was the reason, because it wasn't.

Thanks to everyone for your congradutions. I hope I made a few of you a handful of pretty pennies.

Drey,

The reason I used the intercession was simple. My loyal Baron asked it of me. His reasons are his own. Yet, I could not expect a loyal baron to defend me, if I would not defend them. I do not need to ask reasons, just be there for them. I hold at least that much respect for my loyals. That should they need me for whatever reason, I would step in to help.

Recently I had some money issues as most know. It was only with the help of my loyal barons that I was able to get the money that I needed. They did not ask why I needed the money, but rather trusted my judgment. Thus, I do the same when asked to step in. I will step in for any loyal that asks it of me, and hope that the challenger knows, that I mean no ill will to them. It is a service I would provide them if they were loyal too.

There will be times when I feel the challenger shouldn't be a Baron, and I might ask to step in. This was not one of those times. I was asked to, and so I did.

Were you a Loyal baron, and asked for my help, I would give it.

Avery,

I just wanted a simple, "he asked." I understand. I was just curious.

So, Deluthan has really changed a lot since a few cycles ago, has he? I do not mean to cast aspersions on Deluthan personally, but is he not the same man as when he made his first challenge? And is he not the same man whom almost everyone felt was unworthy to hold a ring? And now everyone has changed their mind about him?
Without trying to question Deluthan's honor or integrity, what has changed? Has the community's judgement of his behavior changed? Or has his behavior changed? I never knew him well enough to form an opinion, but others seemed to have rather strong ones.
It seems that the community seems to be rather whimsical of late.

"It seems that the community seems to be rather whimsical of late."

I'm impressed, Percy. You can judge the community based on the writings of one person. So now, does the entire community hate you because I find your comment without a base or means of justification?
There are people who don't like Del, just as there are people who don't like me. Because one person chooses to appraise someone in one way doesn't mean that the entire community feels this.
Maybe people don't like Zaf, and they're happier that Del won instead of him.
I can name a few more reasons on why the person probably wrote it. That person being a representation of the entire community would be among the last, right before "Maybe Del bribed the person into writing that."
It seems your "non-insult" to Del has no justification and no basis. Just some feeble attempt to leave a lasting thought upon your words.
