Should we have the people that were given the total opposite of those warming introductions?

You know, I was once given a warm introduction to Jonalyn. She was nice to me. She even pointed me to Xeno and told me to learn his ways. We used to make fun of Cas together when I didn't like Cas! But one day, I challenged Lucian, and then targeted it to Lupton... All of a sudden, over night, I was a bad guy.

I'm still a friggin' bad guy. I like it now. Khrys, Leo, and Arane should try walking in the door and at the same instant, be greeted by laughter and a bombardment of insults. It's like her own private protest. Why doesn't she get a life, and stop harassing the people she doesn't like?

I've noticed she is real warm and friendly to her friends, etc... But try it on the otherside, and it's a whole different deal.

What I find amusing is that I make quite a neutral statement of fact (to whit, the man has read the board, which is where he has garnered his opinion) which neither condones nor condemns this Andrew person and now *twice* it has been assumed that I am defending him.

Khrysta, Arane, Leo...

Can any of you deny the very words that Starfare has placed upon this cork?

Because she has not turned on you, do you think she has not turned on others?

A young woman, introduced to me by my Father, was given the task of overseeing my duties in the Arena and the Duels while I was on leave to see to the health of my youngest daughter. Upon the first moment that Starfare clapped eyes upon this young woman, she treated her with nothing but hostility and contempt. She has since returned to her homeland, but I have no reason to disbelieve any of the things she told me, for they were verified by
others that I spoke to.

As for witnessing such situations, I have. However, my own dislike of Starfare is well known and I felt the presentation of other views to be important.

My Dear man, even if you aren't an *active* deuler you have her pegged and good.

The only person that bothered to help me when I first started was Sagewlf. Jonalyn has been an ill-tempered shrew since day one. It was her attitude towards my husband that spawned my dislike of her and the subsequent gesture....

Frankly I still wonder how someone's Spoken Accent can transfer to the Cork.

Drake...

I can't deny what is written on these boards before everyone. I can say that I don't know all of why Jona does and says the things she does. I'm not privy to all the reasons behind her thoughts and feeling, and my note didn't address that. My note told of how she has treated me, and what I personally have witnessed. As for the young woman who filled in for you... She felt that Karen was unqualified to simply step in a take over as Standing's
Keeper and Arena Official without even a small amount of training. She stated that many times, and there were others that agreed with her. I mean, Heavens above, Drake.. the girl didn't even know the very basics of dueling and was very nearly being taught by the duelists. If that isn't undertrained and unqualified I don't know what is. There were quite a few that had problems with the way you handled that... Jona was simply one of the more vocal
ones. As for her having a personal dislike of Karen, rather than a professional one. I honestly don't remember if she stated that or not, and even if she did... again... I'm not privy to the reasons behind her personal thoughts and feelings. Nor am I witness to everything that occurs in the arena so would be unable to say that her feelings were (or were not) fully justified.

"Jonalyn has been an ill-tempered shrew since day one."

Why Laylla, I was unaware ya knew Jonalyn on day one. Up until now, I believed myself ta have known Jonalyn far longer dan ya. Heck, guess I was wrong. Funny, I still don't believe ya have da slightest clue what yer talking about. I believe da anti-Jona bandwagon will be leavin' at noon tamorrow, I pray ya are on it and never return.

Drakewyn,

I'm sure ya catch a lot of ill sentiment from Jona, but keep in mind ye two are at each other non stop. I'm sure her opinion of ya is no less scathin'. Ta sum up my point, it would be like yer god callin' a demon an evil bastard. ::chuckling as he writes:: I'm sure da demon would have an interestin' take on yer god as well.

She meant the first day that Jona and herself met, Jeff. Not the first day Jonalyn entered the Arena.

Community,

As much as I probably don't want to..I'll admit, Lady Starfare was welcoming to myself, I recall..until fairly recently.

To all I suppose:

Jona be one ta hae an opinion, and she nae be a little ole violet, peeping shyly out from under an ole leaf, begging ya ta take notice of her wee self as she hides from ta sun. I says Jona be a sunflower, always thrusting her self up above ta rest looking ta take on ta heat. Sure her stalk getting all prickly like and brittle if ya try ta bend it; but her seeds do fill ya belly well, and she do look beautiful when she be in her glory.

Now it do strike me, that ta Drake do hae many a quality ta same as ta Jona.

Me thoughts,

Summer Oakenshield

Oh and so ya all know, me Jeff be absolutely right. Ya either Loyal or ya aint. I means hows it look if Sid done say, "Jeff, ole Summer be an ole stick in ta mud, and she nae down here with ya having a bit of fun, so mayhaps I just take her place around here for ya."

And lets say I come around an I do tear off ta ears off a ta Sid, and then I slam me palm up Jeff's nose and he be bleeding and yelling, "But Summer, Sid just holding ta spot for ya?"

Dae boy, I think ya get me meaning.

Tante Khrys,

>Lupton was involved with Morte? I didn't know that....
>

Oui it is true. Marme was involved with lots and lots of people. Marme always believed it was best to be involved rather than evolved which would make you round and fat.

I remember Monsiuer Luptyton. He used to meet Marme outside the House because he had a big head and it would get hurt if he came inside. That is what Marme said, but she said we must be very nice to him and not mention his head because it might make it hard for him to sit down.

Grosses Bisses,

Aislain

Personally, I see Jonalyn as a weed: provides no help to the "garden" and and in fact *harms* it by squeezing the life out of the other "flowers".

But then again, what do I know? I'm supposedly dimwitted, deranged and evil, according to Her Holiness Jonalyn.

Yours maniacly,

Actually, my comeback, if I had ta make one wouldn't be names Sid, it would be a question.

What is it, exactly, you provide DoS? Regular dueling...no. Records keeping and tales of times past...no. Unique perspective of days many have forgotten...no. Charming personality...no. Gee, way I figure it, Jonalyn qualifies as having at least some of da aforementioned, so she's got a few up on ya Sid.

So, what exactly do ya provide our lovely garden, eh?

Baron Oakenshield...

Having never in all my days and nights in the Arena and it's environs heard Starfare tell tales of times past, or give her perspective of events long ago... save to state that these days pale in comparison...
Having never seen the records; nor spoken to anyone who has, in recent years, seen the records that Starfare supposedly has...
I do believe that the qualities you listed are in error.

As for charming personalities... I find Sidartha to be a much more charming and open-minded person. Even when we have disagreed, we maintained respect and dignity toward each other. Starfare, on the other hand, shows nothing but spite and vitrol to those she disagrees with.

A weed is a most apt description, Sid.

Exactly correct Jeff, I've got to say I think you've made a fine point. And Drakewyn.. that's probably just because Jona isn't as enchanted by your company as she is ours. Not to speak on her behalf, of course..
