Members of the Community:

On this very night, I did bear witness to the Best of Three match between Warlord Tournament prize winner and former Baroness Taylara Tyree and Baronial Tournament winner Overlord Daelin Dragonsblade.

The Overlord, Daelin Dragonsblade dueled under a royal blue banner emblazoned with a gold Dragon at full wingspan... his Coat of Arms and the flag of his homeland, Dragonia.
He was seconded this evening by Captain Ellisa Morgan, Former Baroness and famed duelist.
His Lady of Honor remained, as ever, his wife Marit Dragonsblade.

The Warlady Taylara Tyree stood as the challenger this evening, wearing the black and jade colours of Atrebla in honor and memory of Dexter Montoya.
She was seconded this evening by Warlord Grandel du Lieth Zephyrus, First holder of the Third Ring.
Standing as her Lord of Honor was her long time friend, Guillermus Iulius Fortis.

The duels transpired thusly:

The first duel was begun in earnest, neither duelist holding back at the start. Blades flashed out and struck, the Overlord's striking high and the Warlady's striking low.
( LC-HC )
The duel continued apace, with rapid movement from both duelists... The Overlord pulled his blade in close and moved, but he couldnot outdistance Taylara's attack.
( HC-FSS )
Now that the pair had taken each other's measure, they began to show caution... The Warlady moved to defend herself while the Overlord looked to catch an attack. Yet neither closed and neither scored
( FLP-SH )
After the hesitation of the previous round, the Overlord seemed fraught with indecision... yet he ceased to worry about the thrust and moved forward... Where he trades firm strikes with the Warlady.
( TH-TH )
Now the duel became ever more serious, the Overlord moving to his right whilst the Warlady worked to keep the distance close. The maneuvering cost the Overlord precious time, and his parry was too far out of position to stop the Warlady's blade.
( HC-FCP )
In a swift and sudden recovery, the Overlord brought his blade to bear once again... the Warlady moved to avoid the assault, yet she couldnot move quite fast enough.
( FSS-LC )
The Overlord seemed emboldened by the success of his attack, and continued to press forward... The Warlady, for her own part, continued in her attempts to avoid his assault. In the end, she was successful, and the first duel was over.
( FDk-HC )

Thus, the Final Score of the First of Three, Warlady Taylara won, five to three after seven rounds.

The second duel began a bit different from the first, with the Warlady moving a little more tenetively... and allowing the Overlord his opening to strike.
( SS-LC )
Then the duel's pace increased, with the Warlady hardly slowed by a slight limp... Her blade collided with the Overlord's, providing neither a point.
( HC-HC )
The Overlord continued to press, not wishing a repeat of the last duel... the Warlady moved to defend herself, but she couldnot stop his attack from striking.
( SH-LC )
Undaunted, the Warlady moved to push the Overlord back from his assault... but the Overlord had moved swiftly to dodge her attack.
( TH-FSS )
In an effortless continuation of his movement, the Overlord moved down and away... slipping past the Warlady's defence for another point.
( FLP-FDk )
In a firm and decisive action, the Overlord moved from defence to offence... but the Warlady's quick movement got her on the board for the duel at last.
( FCP-TH )
Yet with a continuation of his attack, the Overlord finished the second duel as quickly as the Warlady had finished the first.
( FDk-LC )

Thus, the Final Score of the Second of Three, Overlord Daelin won, five to one after seven rounds.

The final duel began for the Overlord much like the first two... swinging his blade too the attack. Only this time the Warlady was ready for an attack... Just not that attack.
( CP-HC )
The duel continued with the Overlord continuing his assault... but this time the Warlady was more focused and dodged aside easily.
( FSS-TH )
The duel remained close as the duelists remained close, their blades slicing into each other for matching points.
( LC-HC )
Neither of the duelists were eager to suffer more damage, and they both moved to defend... but the Warlady's quick motion gave her a commanding position in this round.
( FSS-FLP )
The duel proceeded rapidly, with the Overlord moving quickly now... yet not quickly enough to get out of range of the Warlady's cut.
( LC-FSS )
The Overlord stepped forward, attempting to close the gap in the score... And he did so... But only for a split second before the Warlady struck in as well for the win.
( HC-LC )

Thus, the Final Score of the Third of Three, Warlady Taylara won, five to three after six rounds... and in so doing, won the match.

So, on this night, did Taylara Tyree become the Fourtieth Overlord of the Duel of Swords.

Of those Barons present, Barons Drey Starke, Jeffery Oakenshield, Sartan and Var Medici-Giovanni all declared themselves Renegade to the new Overlord.
The remaining Barons have one week to declare their alignments.

I am pleased to finally see a woman on the council, especially at the helm. I shall be interested to see whether the lady Tyree can bestow a sense of prestige to an otherwise wavering title. I feel she has the potential and shall offer her my support.

The First has petitioned for loyal alignment. I regret missing the challenge.

Sincerely,
Deluthan Ev'rt

<<Heheh. Drey got spanked by a gi-irl!>>

There was a scribble of the name Drey and DAE was instead put in.

Under that was another small blurb.

"It doesn't matter, both of them suck equally, hence the mistake"

Except, I'm undefeated against both of them... And Tay lost 5-0. Maybe you're just too stupid to notice these things, Billy. Thanks again for putting your once in a lifetime input for me to look fondly at.

So what yer telling us is that yer the best of the worst? Or the worst of the best? Either way, yer still a schmoe. I won't bring up the ass kicking I gave you, even though I was drunk and half asleep during the match. You seem to base your career on one or two duels.

You da man! You da MAN!

You bottom feeding oxygen thief.

Love Mr. Ray

Well, I'm saying Tay is obviously better than you, since I've never seen you ever succeed as far as she has in a Warlord's Tournament. And we've dueled plenty more than two. But it don't matter, you both suck.

Oh, this one will be entertaining.

Of course, by the logic present here, the three best duelers here are Billy, Morgan, and myself. That ought to be tough to swallow, hmm?

Regards,
Ian Rex.

Starke, to the best of my knowledge, Billy Ray has won two Warlord's Tournaments.

I believe that is correct that Billy is a two timer. As am I. Want to dust off the golves and race to three, Billy Ray? ... Then again, the crying from the other Warlords might get old after the first few rounds..

Ah well, it was worth a shot. Maybe I should start caring about Billy's history...
