::a note attached to MacKenzie's response::
The first person that escorts my humble servant to the sanitarium will have to answer to his not-so-humble master. By the way, servant lad ... the grass needs to be mowed and the toilets need to be scrubbed. Chop chop.

>My Dear Bleys
Mr. Pyre,
I am not your 'dear' anything. Nor, thank you kindly, do I wish to be. Your personality seems singularly unattractive, in fact.
>One finds it amusing that already you of all people seem to be fostering
>violence because you do not agree with someone.
How is this particularly amusing? I, 'of all people', have always thought that violence is one of the more permanent and effective ways of settling disputes. I would even go so far as to say that violence can have its enjoyable moments. Especially when someone really seems to be asking others to use violence upon him or her.
As for the pen being mightier than the sword, this is a weak argument thought up by a man who did not properly understand historical forces. The sword's influence was felt long before the pen's invention and it will continue to be felt long after the pen's obsolescence.

My Dear Ian Rex,
Would you have it that life would be so simple that your wishes would be the commands of others? You make unwarranted assumptions as to so many, many things and are wrong so very many times.
Still, your general state of truculence and distrust are useful.
Your humble servant,
Andrew Pyre

My Dear Unsigned Post,
What to say to one who is so inteligent, yet can not see what is before them? It is a puzzle that I will help you unravel.
It is so easy to set events in motion and then step back and allow them to proceed to their logical conclusion without any more direct action. Perhaps a word here or there to keep the event on its path.
You claim to be a historian. If so, perhaps you may, if so inclined work your way back to the very begninings of the ending of Avery. Then work your way forward and watch, and read, and follow the twisting path. I would not dream of telling you what to think or do, but it may be worth your while. In any event, it is your choice.
As to the claim of ownership of this cork or others claiming ownership of other corks it is a mute point. You may consider me properly chastized and repentant if you wish.
Your humble servant,
Andrew Pyre

My Dear Bleys,
It would appear you are a classic example of one who will not learn and is then doomed to repeat the same errors again and again. It is this frame of mind that provoked the statement that only historians care about history. You prove that particular point so very handily.
The pen has bested the sword time and time again. Indeed it is the pen that records the deeds of the high and low. Your argument is not worthy of you and discolors the fabric of reason. Perhaps you have a better one you would like to advance? I would hope that to be so.
Your humble servant,
Andrew Pyre

My Dear Sidartha Elgarette,
Did I perchance touch a nerve? I would hope that you are not offended, it would be troublesome for one of your brittle temperment to become unhinged. Indeed, I would count it a personal loss if you lose coherence.
I have often noted that when a person is driven to a state of hysteria they are prone to irrational attacks and abusive behavior. Of course, that could never happen to you I am sure.

My Dear Nova,
Again, you almost bring a smile to my face. I appreciate your feeling you must protect me, but I am more then capable of defending myself. But it is kind of you and perhaps I will award you something of value.
The rest of your post is not comprehensible, but I assume it is a way to save face by pretense.

That pretty much tells me nothing at all. Thanks for being consistent, at least.

Humble servant,
Incomprehensible? What's so difficult to understand about telling you to mow the lawn and clean the toilets? You are my servant. Move it or no porridge this week.
Sheesh. Servants these days, huh? Am I right? Tough crowd.

My Dear Sartan,
I do pride consistency as one of my many virtues. Brevity is another. The answer I gave should provide food for thought and from the thought one could gather certain conclusions that would be helpful.
Is that clear enough?

Andrew Pyre

My Dear Nova,
You are indeed a refreshing personality. At the rate you are going I am sure that I may smile at your wit in perhaps a month or so.
I would wish you did longer posts to this cork. Your preoccupation with the single topic provides little to comment on and I am sure you are full of comments.

"You make unwarranted assumptions as to so many, many things and are wrong so very many times."
Further proof of this poor, diseased soul's state of mind, as I *never* make unwarranted assumptions, as pretty much anyone will attest that I always gather much information before opening my mouth, and ... well, I'm never wrong, of course.
Regards,
Ian Rex.

Andrew,
To be honest, I do not and still do not care enough to put any effort or serious thought into this matter. When you do something worth note, please come find me, and I will be certain to have a cookie waiting.
