Let it be known that on this night, Wednesday, July 5, 2000 that I did officiate over the challenge for the 13th Baronial Ring as the eastern clocks struck the hour of 10:30.

Defending Baron Drey Starke, dueling beneath no colors and with his Lady of Honor Ekatarina by his side. He did face his challenger Warlord Verceterix Favre, dueling beneath his colors of crimson and black, his Lady of Honor Alanna Saint-Reynolds by his side.

It was a well fought match. Both men giving all that they had to the defense and challenge. But only one man could come out of it in possession of the Ring of the 13th. The two men facing off in Ring Avatar.

Ring Avatar Round One, saw both men earning opening points and drawing first blood upon their opponent. Baron Drey striking a High Cut while Warlord Rix Favre struck a low Cut. (1-1)

Ring Avatar Round Two, Baron Drey took the lead this round as his Low Cut caught Warlord Rix Favre in his attempt to Sidestep. (2-1 Drey)

Ring Avatar Round Three, this round was an exact replica of round one. Both the Baron and the Warlord earning points for the same moves. (3-2 Drey)

Ring Avatar Round Four, the Baron tries for a fancy Lateral Parry expecting a high blow from Warlord Rix Favre who simply Sidesteps with a flourish to tie up the match. (3-3)

Ring Avatar Round Five, the Baron tries to return the favor of the flourished Sidestep only to find Warlord Rix Favre dropping to one knee to watch the manuever. No points gained this round by either man. (3-3)

Ring Avatar Round Six, the Baron drops to one knee to quickly deter Warlord Rix Favre's incoming thrust for the point to take the lead this round. ( 4-3 Drey)

Ring Avatar Round Seven, Baron Drey and Warlord Favre clash blades in mirroring Low Cuts this round for naught. The Baron still retains the lead. (4-3 Drey)

Ring Avatar Round Eight, both the Baron and the Warlord drop down into flourished ducks to come up looking each other in the eye but neither man scores. (4-3 Drey)

Ring Avatar Round Nine, Baron Drey strikes out quickly with a High Cut against Warlord Favre, scoring the final point in this grueling battle over the flourished Sidestep.
**Final: Drey Starke def Verceterix Favre 5-3 in 9 rounds.**

It is with great honor that I announce to you that Baron Drey Starke has retained his right to bear the 13th ring of the Duel of Swords. Successfully defeating his challenger in a battle of honor and skill on the part of both men.

Sincerely,
Lisana M. Colestae

Let me guess, the cockroaches suggested Drey's winning strategy!

Bleys,

Why the fixation on cockroaches?
