Another long day nears it's end as she delivers the missives to the appropriate parties. Hoping for a little amusement she pauses by the cork and shuffles through the stack of notes to Andrew. Not finding anything of interest she turns to leave.
As she steps back a newly tacked note catches her eye, the signature one very familiar to her. Her hands tremble as she removes the note settling on a bench outside the arena to read. Lowering her head her fingers lace through auburn strands, her hand bracing at the nape of neck.
Rising from the bench she walks around the arena coming upon two beautiful Arabians reined to the wall of the arena. Leaning against the gray stroking his neck the scent of the roses reminds her of the times when Xy would bring her dozens upon dozens of yellow roses. It's been so long since she's tucked her feeling for Xy away; the love and hurt kept deep within.... That lingering question softly escapes her lips. "Why, Xy......"
Releasing the reins the horses trail behind her as she stops at the cork. Finding a blank piece of paper left by Andrew for questions and comments she takes a stub of charcoal and begins to write.

My dearest Xy,
I take comfort in knowing you keep watch over Kammi and me. She has grown so much you'd hardly recognize her. She still goes to bed at night with that bear curled tightly against her.
The horses are beautiful.... as are the roses, but they cannae replace you in our lives. The past is behind us Xy and that is where it will remain. You did what you thought was best, you were protecting us. I cannae fault you for that.
I would really like if you could make it to the challenge I now face. I'm nae asking for a promise, Xy.... but it sure would make my night one better.
With love,
~Tay~
::Tacking the note to the cork she prays that Xy will see it.::
