In a duel, one will win, another will lose. Some don't like that fact that someone won or someone lost when others do. Who someone wishes to win is a matter of personal taste, past histories, and the current on-goings with the person in question. There is no dividing line between who should have won because everyone is different in thought. Thus everyone is entitled to their own opinions. The problem comes when people attack others when the
argument is lost on their side, someone gets under the others skin, or any other method of defeat is detected. In this case a sexist view was presented out of some type of anger attempting to damage the reputation of another. This will been seen as an immature attempt at a false fame upon these boards and will receive a negative response.

As I stand here, reading this ludricus line of messages, I can't help but wonder how many were actually part of these so-called histories. To me, they are still the present. So what if some things change. There is nothing that stays the same. Many who know me, know my standing with the 2nd.
To those that don't know me, live and learn. I've been against the best, and I've beat the best, but they have beaten me. This is a game of chance, a game of skill, a game of luck.
There are MANY whom I've had the honour of being present with, G being one of them. I've known G since he started. The fact be known, I was prolly his first win which started him on the road to where he now stands.
Now, I ask you that have not lived in this histroy...who do you know that never reached a rank, yet held just as much power, if not influence? I would give my left arm to say that none of you know. I do recall a certain commoner (and I do not mean me) that was commoner for the good part of his time in the Duels. Binzo was one I was honoured to know, for the mear fact that he was respected. Binzo was one who knew the meaning of the Swords...it was
the relationships that were forged.
I bet few of you remember the reign's of the houses. CoV and House Llewys-Lathadoscia, House Phoenix....during this time, it was the name of belonging to one of the major houses that made something. But with time, they faded. Times change.
Now, that I'm done ranting about the past (it happens when you get old and senial), consider this. How would those that have held this ring in the past, Siera, Kalamere, Wicked, Tarl, Daegarth, AJ, and even Lucian (I know I've forgoten some, but again, I'm old and can't remember them), how would they feel seein this?
A'right...tha's enough of my soapbox. The point is, well..there is no point. I ain't posted in..well...forever, and thought this would be the right time to;)

My Dear Sidartha,
My felicitations on the excellent phrasing of your position. It does my soul so much good when I perceive that someone is trying. Your choice of wording is quite good and I thank you for the eloquence of expression and overall coherence.
However, I judge people on what they say and do. If you review the posts the two gentlemen posted on this board dealing with the winning of the Second you would be hard-pressed to justify your argument.
Nevertheless, I thank you for the missive you posted. Language is so much better when we try don't you think?
Your humble servant

My Dear G,
It is a classic manuver to insult someone and then say you did not mean it in an insulting tone. However, it is not your choice as to whether someone has been insulted or not, it is the recepients perception that matters. In any case I am not offended, mildly amused perhaps.
Your opinion as to the qualifications of someone to hold a title is a bit odd when in this society to hold a title all you have to do is win enough and be a little lucky now and then. Their moral character or whether you or your associates like them is irrelevent. Your studied insult to them in relevent.
I believe you have fought well over 1200 duels in your career and have seen all the good and bad this fair land has to offer. One would have expected by now a certain maturity of viewpoint.
I am aware of your various rises and falls, your transformations of character and your current status. I am also aware that you gave away your ring and so on. When one, of their own free will drops out of contention then one should refrain from insulting someone who is in contention wouldn't you think?
Truthfully, I believe you are bored and restless. The hoped for freedom when you gave up the ring has not materialized now your watching those who you perceive as your inferiors taking your place and that must gall your soul a bit.
As for your not congratulating her on winning no one expected you to. However, good taste should have compelled you to not denigrate her win. Perhaps silence would have been the better move. As to the injury of the opponent I am sure that accomodations would have been made if asked for. None were asked for therefore your point is mute.
You assume that I know little about the titleholders and the day-to-day life in this realm. Your assumption is incorrect. I do firmly believe that you acted out of jealousy and showed a distinct lack of strength of character. That sir is my opinion and as such your stuck with it.
hmmmm
All that is gold does not glitter
not all those who wander are lost
the old that is strong does not wither
deep roots are not touched by the frost
You may finish it if you wish. I believe your quoting out of The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien.
I have never made claim to being a great speller, but I do try and in the instance of my spelling Irrepressible incorrectly I most sincerely apologize. Please feel free to point out future reoccurrences if it pleases you to do so. I will severely chastize my correspondence demon for it's transgression.
Well, here we are at the end of my post. You are aware that I disaprove of your unsportsmanlike behaviour and your conduct unbecoming a past and future lord of the realm. I have learned that you act in haste and refuse to repent at leisure. Incidentally, I have taken a passing fondness for the ink you use and have purchased a small supply to use now and again. It is probably not exactly the right hue, but it is very close.
Your humble servant

My Dear John Tasslehofl Momus.
What can one say other then the eloquence of your phrasing is only matched by the complexity of your thought processes. You have brought a real smile to my face as I attempted to sort your missive out.
I agree with a lot of the things you have stated, disagree with some of them and reserve judgement on others. I shall continue to follow your career with some interest and can only hope that you are as agile in the ring as you are in the common tongue.

Mister Pyre.
I certainly approve of the statements made by my friends, Daelin and G.
Whether I agree with them or not, is another matter entirely.
My opinion of the current and the most recent holders of the 2nd Ring remain my own. Whether I agree or disagree with my friends, I will still defend their right to say what they wish... and defend them when others accuse them falsely.
Lady Drake, aka the Gryphon.

I've just challenged Ariadne Angeles for the ring.

Mr. Pyre~
Quit with the brown-nosing and start apologizing to Daelin and Gnort for your false accusations.
And, from now on, learn to do some research before you plague the boards any further than they already are.

One night, I drank more than I should of, and I had this strange dream of a man in a purple suit and top hat walking with a pet alligator and he would always laugh and though a trio of six sided dice. I didn't drink for a long time afterwards because of that dream.
Well, Andrew, you smell like beer.
