The Challenge For The Black Opal, ShadoWeaver

Let it be known that Colonel Matthew Algiers Simon successfully defended the Black Opal from challenger Roland Sal Roa of House Salsinger this night.

The Challenge match involved a series of three fights, victory claimed by the winner of two.

Match one, held in Ring Sand Square, saw Roland defeat Matt 5-4; by the last two rounds, the opponents were slugging it out to the floor - mirror jabs followed with mirror snapkicks.

Match two. Ring Dark Intrigue. Heated from the first fight, this brawl spanned twelve full rounds, ending with a score of 6-5 in favor of Matt. Matt's third attempted jumpkick landed him the win at the close, while chops and jabs brought him to the pinnacle.
Roland's successful tactics included the jab, spinkick and flip, which brings me to ask, why hook in the end?

For the last hurrah, Matt and Roland climbed down into The Pit and slammed one another around the muddied walls for another twelve rounds. Highlights included Matt's scored conversion with an armblock then leap combination, Roland's sudden turn-around in round ten with a jab nailed through Matt's snapkick, and round eleven, the brutal throw-down when Roland successfully flipped Matt from his jumpkick. The lead was still in place, however, in Matt's
favor. Round twelve brought us invigorating, dual jabs. Defending his title, Matt took the win and shall hold ShadoWeaver yet.
