Yes because, as everyone knows, suffering through a vicious match and being unhealed by the Ward of Gondor is completely and utterly self-serving.

Why yes...how self serving it was of Dalamar to die.

By the way, before anyone gets uptight, there was a ring of sarcasm to that.

Daegarth... I must say congratulations to a duel well fought.

As for Taylara's actions, I keep my mouth shut because, with all due respect, she isn't around to defend the onslaught of disconcerning comments.

Sartan...

You appear to have conveniently forgotten that the Caller, Marzan, and many of the spectators asked Dalamar if he wished to pause and receive some medical attention. In fact, I recall some patrons nearly pleading with him to stop.
In his pride and arrogance, and no one can say Dalamar was not arrogant, he refused to stop... even up to the point of his collapse.

As for Taylara's decision... who are any of you to judge what she felt was right? And those who attempted to stop the event... who are you to determine where and when someone should take their own life?
I found her decision to be nothing but a waste of a talented life. No more, no less.

I am me. And by my ways and decisions, I have every right to pass judgement on someone. And everyone does it every day anyway, and will continue to do so.

Therefore, I judge Taylara as I have.

I think it is a good thing, personally. No one can hide behind any of the loopholes of a Loyal Baron. Besides, it means that if anyone really and truly wants to be Loyal to Daegarth, they will have to work for it. That makes sense to me. Why make things too easy? And if Daegarth really doesn't want any supporters, well, that is his right. Perhaps he would prefer to stand alone. There is certainly something to say for that in this day and age, when
it so often seems to be a matter of clique vs. clique here.

>Must you insult other people to make yourself look good? What a moron.

Dustin, I do not see what your argument is here, because if you are calling Derek a moron, that as well goes for you. You insult others, especially someone who is not longer here just to get attention. Why don't you grow up!

People were vicious to Taylara when she was alive, they are vicious to her now in death.

Who can blame her? And why do her detractors even care? She is gone, she can no longer behave in the manner that so bothered each of you to speak with such venom.

May she finally rest in peace. It is perhaps too much to ask that the rest of you let this matter rest. Dead people cannot defend themselves and only the weak slander those that cannot defend themselves.

You have a new Overlord. Regard him or challenge him. It is time to move on.

DoS:

What Tay did in her final act was the highest coward act I have ever seen. EVEN IF she did it for some honorable reason, she left her friends in the dust along with the people that knew her. I may have not agreed with how she was running the OL spot but hell, she was a friend. And to where ever she rests, thanks. Thanks for not being here.

Drake,

What do pride and arrogance have to do with it? Dalamar was fighting for his title, he took the pauses between rounds as due any other competitor. Why should he have taken special right in the match?

Dalamar was arrogant, yes, but find me a person who claims not to be arrogant, and I'll have found you a liar. No one is above arrogance at certain times.

What any of that has to do with this situation, though, I don't know. Explain to me how Dalamar fighting a match to the finish, without taking a break which normally wouldn't be given, is self-serving. The self-serving comment was made by Seamust and my reply was in regards to that. How your comments relate seems to be escaping me, so please clarify.

Sartan.

How in the name of the Gods can you claim what Dalamar did to be an act of self-sacrifice? Dalamar's pride is what caused him not to accept a pause in the duel. His arrogance is what kept him dueling when another would have realized that doing so would lead to their death.
Seamus wrote of Prudence, who knew for a fact that she would die in that duel. But knew that if she died, many others would be saved.
Dalamar was a fine duelist, well loved by many of the community... but to compare the duel that led to his death in terms of self-sacrifice to the duel that led to Prudence's death is clearly impossible.

When. Did. I. Ever. Compare. Dalamar. To. Prudence.

My comment towards Seamus was just a touch sarcastic, if anyone missed that, but I would like some form of reply from him in regards to how Dal being overcome by injuries is self-serving.

And I still fail to comprehend how any of what you're saying relates to my initial comment, Drake. If you felt the need to call Dalamar arrogant, you can go right ahead, people have said much worse about him. If you felt the need to call him prideful, again, you can go right ahead. My question towards you remains as well. How's any of that relate to my initial comment to Seamus?

Seamus~

It would be highly difficult to write angry words over the selfishness of someone's suicide if the person was standing before me, seeing as that would require the person to be ALIVE. Well, usually...this is RhyDin of course. If she does happen, by some "miracle", to return from the dead so I *can* meet her face-to-face, rest assured she will hear the same words as I have written.

As for my comments on the memories of those who have legitimately died in the ring, I spoke of everyone. I will regret it until my dying day, but I wasn't there the night Dalamar died so I cannot comment on when he died, whether in the ring or out of it. Prudence is the most shining example of *legitimate* saccrifice of one's life in a ring, but I was speaking of everyone that's ever died in the ring as a result of real injuries and not just
self-destruction.

I speak of the selfishness and cowardice of suicide from experience, Seamus. I know how little purpose it serves.

Sartan,

Your post, in it's entirety:

">I would not put the self serving actions of your former lover in the same
>league as Pru

Yes because, as everyone knows, suffering through a vicious match and being unhealed by the Ward of Gondor is completely and utterly self-serving.

Sartan"

You were the one who compared Dalamar's death, which by the testemony of Morgan Le Fay did not occur in the ring itself, to Prudence's death.
By your sarcastic phrasing, you imply that what Dalamar did was in no way self-serving.
I believe that it was. Perhaps not conciously, but it served his pride.
I fully believe that Dalamar knew, late in the duel, that if he did not stop the stress and wounds would cause his death.
Can you possibly think it was self-sacrifice that led him to keep fighting?
