Pray forgive me gentlemen for the lateness of the posting of the results of your challenge match held this past Tuesday on the 3rd day of October. I had an emergency come up and was drawn away from the realm for a few days. Again, I apologize to you both and the Community as a whole.

To the Duel of Swords Community


Let it be known that on the 3rd day of October the Warlord Evan Rush Rynth did press his challenge to the Baron Jeff Oakenshield, for the right to possess the Sixth Ring. The two men met with honor at the field of battle.

The Baron was attended by no Second but dueled for the honor of his lovely wife Summer Oakenshield. The Baron defended the ring wielding the axe Chaos and dueled beneath the colors of metallic gold and crimson.

The Warlord dueled with Magnus as his Second and for the honor of the Aurora Eve Rynth. He pressed his challenge, wielding an oversized longsword and dueled in the colors of blue and white.

The format was the traditional, winner take all single match and proceeded thus.

In the First Round, the Warlord swept his weapon low and tripped up the side stepping Baron to take the leading point. (Lc/Fss) 1-0 Evan.

The Second Round, saw the Warlord extend his lead as he reversed his cut and attacked high, catching the Baron just above Jeff's attempted midline block. (Sh/Hc) 2-0 Evan.

In the Third Round the Warlord pulled out the triple cut but did not come away unscathed as the Baron attacked on high and put himself on the score board. (Hc/Lc) 3-1 Evan.

The Fourth Round was a good one for the Baron as he closed the gap a little more by bringing Chaos in low and catching the side stepping Warlord. (Lc/Fss)
3-2 Evan.

The Fifth Round was bloodless, seeing the Baron step while the Warlord dropped into a midline block. (Sh/Fss) 3-2 Evan.

In the Sixth Round, the Baron tied up the match when he parried away the Warlord's high attack. (Flp/Hc) 3 all.

In the Seventh Round the Baron took control of the match when he performed bookend parries and caught the Warlord's lunge, burying the longsword. (Fcp/Th) 4-3 Jeff.

The Eighth Round was the end when the Warlord parried a touch too high to block the Baron's low attack. (Flp/Lc)


And so, in Eight Rounds, the Baron Jeff Oakenshield did defend his right to hold the Sixth Baron's Ring.

The reason for the challenge was a challenge itself. The holder of the Sixth Ring, Jeff, did fall within my view of a challenge which I informed the Baron of. The match was taken honorably and Jeff proved to be the finer dueler of that match. Win or lose, that night I had fun.
