To the patrons of the Duel of Swords,
It has been brought to my attention that, while I had accepted the challenge on Sunday morning, the date of the challenge (Sunday, November 5th, two weeks from the day of acceptance) is unacceptable according to Turienal, active supervisor of the Duel of Swords. It is because including the date of the acceptance, Sunday the 5th would count as fifteen days from acceptance.
Of course, I disagree completely with this, but it's apparent the date will have to be tentatively reset. I apologize because of the confusion of needing to set a new date, but it has to be done. Below is a copy of my response to Turienal's decision:
~~~~~~~~
To the involved parties,
Saturday isn't acceptable, to be blunt. I am concerned about my officiating on Saturday. Not to mention I was told beforehand that Saturday wasn't good for Cas. However, it's disappointing that two Sundays from the time of acceptance isn't allowed.
I completely disagree with Turi's logic. I had always imagined when someone said "within one week from today" it would mean next Sunday, not Saturday.
Cas will have to toss out some dates that work for him, and I'll have to decide whether or not the date will fit into my schedule. I've suggested a date already that I think complies to the rules.
This announcement, of course, was to keep the community updated. I had just found this out today.
I would like to state my agreement with the Baron on this particular issue. However, the rules must be obeyed. Dates are currently being discussed.
Yea, so? How about keeping us updated by just telling the date of the match when the time comes you find the new date.
For the community's information:
I would like to apologize for the confusion of all this, as I personally hate constant changes of date and time. I am sure I'm not the only person who gets confused.
Turi has decided the date and time I originally suggested for the challenge is valid, and is therefore the official date.
Hopefully, this puts an end to the confusion so we can get this challenge over with.
