A wierd discovery (Fala)

In the final moments before dueling started, Fala decieded to let himself go and let Pathfinder be a part of himself once more. The opal sat idly on his lead gauntlet the last couple days, just shining in the lights.
Fala knew what he was doing to a certain extent. The first time he held Pathfinder the power from the opal flowed through him. This boosted his magic abilities somewhat and also gave him a greater sense of the natural soroundings. He had longed for this feeling once more.....and the time had finally come.
Blah poped the opal out of the lead gauntlet and placed it in his lap as he sat indian style. He closed his eyes and centered his attetion on the object before him. Letting himself go he tapped into the object, reaching for its enormous power. As he searched deeper and deeper he felt a strange force, one he didn't feel the last time he had done this. Fala realized something was terribly wrong......either the opal had been altered while it had
switched holders...or it was not the true Pathfinder. The shock of this left Fala in a wierd state, as he poped the opal back into the gauntlet.
As Fala looked to the door to search the faces of the new arrvals a strange power, surged through his arms and legs. He stood up and fell back down to his knees...than to his face. Somthing was terribly wrong with Pathfinder.....and now something was wrong with Fala too.

He dueled in his weakened state, barely pulling out a win and then loosing bad the next duel. Fala knew the opal was having a negative affect on his dueling but he pushed on until he had no strength left. He called it an early night and walked out through the double doors into the night.
He came back to his wall later the next morning and ploped down on his couch. The wierd power inside him had to be purged and Fala knew how....or at least he hoped. He took the opal out of his guantlet and laid on part of the wall in front of him. His hands trembled as he reached out to the opal and placed them atop it.
It had begun......the searching of his body would take awhile but he knew he must find this power. Three days of meditation did the job, the unknown power was slowly returned to the faulty Pathfinder.
From now on, Pathfinder was just for show. Until he can find out what happened to it, he will not tap into its strange power.

Yet another try at Warlord, Fala walked into the arena stronger than he felt in awhile. Grabbing a couple wins and losses he felt confident that his body was getting back to its old self.
Waddling into the outback like always, Fala couldn't wait to bring his energy over to the fists rings. Blah jumped in the ring with Andrew and awaited the action. After the first round though, Fala could barely move. Swept to the ground, his body felt like a pile of mush. All his effort wasn't enough as Andrew edged him out at the end.
Dragging his feet back to his wall, he wondered how his body could go limp soo fast without warning. He fell against the wall and his eyes began to glow green again. Some of Pathfinder still lurked in his system, with potential to arise at any time.
Fala knew this would be another early night for him as he quickly wavewave to everyone and dragged himself out the double doors. The tired body wandered the streets of Rhydin, wondering where he could find a cure for this. After hours of walking he finally collapsed into a alley and fell into a deep sleep.

That night against Andrew made him more determined to get this junk out of his system. Many more days of meditation followed as Fala searched his body for any traces left of Pathfinder.
A letter was then delivered to his wall by a unknown man. Fala stopped his meditation a bit to read through the letter. Another challenge by Harris for Pathfinder. To Fala this guy looked like he would never give up until he reclaimed what he felt was his.
The response sent in the mail, Fala wondered what could happen next. Was this challenge by Harris a good thing? Could he let go of this painful burden which was destoying his body on the inside. Fala wondered if he should just throw the duel and give it to Harris. This would make both parties happy to a certain extent......but Fala wasn't willing to give up what he worked so hard to obtain. He would rough the storm and possibly risk his life by
trying to keeping the opal. Whatever happened in the match would determine the future of Pathfinder.
The day Fala requested for the match was some ways away giving him some time to regain a little more strength and prepare himself.
This time the tables were turned a bit, Harris stronger than ever with the number one rank where it was the other way around the last match happened. If the upcomming match was even going to be close to the grueling 3 sudden death matches that happened last time, Fala knew his body would not hold that well. He had to win and win big.
Going back to his meditation, Blah looked once again to regain mental and physical stability. Time was of the greatest importance to Fala.

((Authors note- to learn more about Lem's death check out the thread "Who Killed Lemon Jello" in the DoM board))

Blah was awoken once more by the private investigator he had just hired. He sent Tetra on his way with orders and looked around the Outback. He missed his friend Lem greatly. Lem had just began his time in the upper ranks when he had been killed. If his own life wasn't enough of a reason to get Pathfinder out of his system, determing who killed Lem was.
After Tetra walked out the double doors of the Outback he pondered something for a moment and then stood up from his couch.
Fala brought his arms out in front of him and began chanting a lengthy phrase. Slowly his eyes began to glow green and some of the remaining energy surfaced. Slowly it left his hands floating through the air in wave like shapes and back into Pathfinder. After about twenty seconds of this he dropped to his knees and was forced to stop.
Fala had to find a better way to remove the power from his system. If he kept treating himself like this he could ruin his body permantly if he survived at all.
Blah rolled off the wall and slowly stood up. He swiftly kicked the "Out at the moment sign" on his wall and the neon light around it began to flicker on. Fala reached for the doors and opened them up, waddling out.
Fala was in search for professional help........help he needed bad.

The day had arrived that has been on Fala's mind for some time now. His search for help was stopped abruptly by a harsh training program that was much needed for his defense of Pathfinder.
Because of his limited amout of time in the fists rings lately he had to train harder than ever in the down time. Traces of Pathfinder seemed to disapear but Fala wasn't about to ignore the possibility of it arising again. He had to be ready for anything tonight.
The duels were going to be tough with Harris showing no signs of slowing down in his dueling lately. His only chance of winning was to get out in the lead early and stay there.
The longer he dueled, the bigger the chance of the last remaining remants of Pathfinder to show up.
All the training could not get rid of the wait though; the wait till night. With much anticipation and excitement Fala laid down on his couch on the wall to get a good days sleep in. He was gonna need every advantage he could get.
