RhyDin Commission Formed
From: hostdfcreiver@aol.com (HOST DFC Reiver)
Date: 25 Nov 2000 01:29:50 EST
Be it known to all who duel within the confines of the Arena that upon this 24th night of the 11th. month, a new body was formed for the express purpose of interpreting and enforcing the rules of this sport.
The body is threefold and is made up of the longest serving, and currently active caller in the Duel of Swords, Host DFC Fish, as well as HOST DFC Stormi and myself, Host DFC Reiver.
In light of the recent exodus of callers from our community, We, along with Kings agents, have taken the reigns to lead this community into the future.
All questions regarding rules interpretation and complaints as well as questions regarding service to the community can be sent to said commission and will be addressed as swiftly as possible.
Nicholas De Grylington for the commission
AKA Host DFC Reiver
HOST DFC FISH
HOST DFC Stormi
(( anyone wishing to join as a host can contact me for an application and I will personally deliver it to the proper channels))

I'm laughing. People who can't even tie their own shoes trying to interpret rules.
Funny.

::the old man pauses in his wanderings to peruse the ancient corkboard, and notes thereon a Proclamation announcing formation of a Rhydin Commission ... he stands before the board for a while, considering the announcement, then rumages through the pockets of his cloak to find pen and paper, and the ink which over
years has taken on the emerald hue::

Having read and considered the Proclamation posted herewith, which announces the formation of the Rhydin Commission composed of three Officials of our Sport,
I wish herein to publicly express appreciation to our remaining Officials for organizing this effort to provide some order to the confusion which hath ensued since
the untimely departure of the prior leadership of our venue.
To the Three who have taken initiative to form a Commission, I shall support thine effort, though I envy thee not. There will be those who decry thine authority
to accept this responsibility. Their questions and criticisms may have validity and shall most assuredly require response in time.
However, it has been my observation that no other body, including our Council of Barons, has stepped forward publicly to offer any direction, guidance, governance,
or continuity, and for this reason, I shall rally behind thine effort to produce order from chaos, and I further encourage all who patronize this venue to do likewise. I shall reserve further opinion until I see more clearly a future path for our sport.
With humble regard and best wishes for all, I am

Lad wondered into the arena before the duels, pausing before a board with many notes upon it, some just seeming to hang there without a pin or fastener.
Reading the ones mostly on the top he was surprised the gal he'd met earlier was a Commissioner!
Scratching his auburn hair with a boney finger he let out a long, slow whistle.
"Now if that don't take the cake, me cleaning side ta side wid a fancy lady like that.", his thoughts spoken softly.
He thought about taking a bath and finding some new clothes.

The Kitsune Foundation hereby offers it's financial and physical support to the Duel of Swords and to those officials willing to step forward and keep the dreams alive.
To make up for the reduced patron-level donations, the Kitsune Foundation will supplement the pay for the cleaning and maintenance staff as well as supply all required supplies for the day to day operations of the Arena.

Well, Reiver is quite qualified himself. Fish certainly has experience and Stormi isn't a bad caller. I certainly wouldn't say that this group was absolutely hopeless. I have worked with Fish and, while I would not agree with all of his ideas of how the job should be done, there have been worse officials in the Duel of Swords before. I have an immense respect for
Reiver dating back to my time as a duelist, though I have never actually worked with him. Stormi is a good caller and has come up with some decent ideas in the past, though I don't know if I would rate her highly as an administrator. Still, who is going to do the job if they don't?
Certainly not me. I have surprisingly little interest in being involved anymore. Largely because of some of the rather inexplicable events of the recent past and the quality of the individuals for whom I have found myself, in the main, calling the duels. In a position based on service, I have no desire to serve those whom I do not respect.
I have more respect for some of the individuals here I most despise than for some of the individuals for whom I have called duels in the last few weeks of my tenure with the Duel of Swords.

The Elfairy approaches the boards, this stack of messages taking his first interest ...
To the officials:
I thank you for trying, even when this community turned its back, you still bring hope. I pray your efforts do not fall in vain.
