sad situation (long, apologies)

::sits and stares at the quill a bit, not very versed in prose, but a bit chargrined with what he has been seeing as of late. He dipped the quill and began writing on the parchment::
To friends and comrades within the Arena,
Though i have only been amongst you for a scant few months, and not hold such a title as some of you on lofty perches, I must say my piece.
I find it unsettling to see what goes on amongst us. Three officials have formed a commision to attempt to keep these rings alive, with or without honor remains to be seen.
Now as participants in those rings, we are splitting into factions amongst ourselves. Those that are willing to support the officials and try to keep the rings alive.
Those that cry out against such a commision, then inquire when a tourny is to be held.
Those that flat out refuse to follow any new leadership, some with very plausible reasoning.
So where to? The arena will probably never be like it was in the past, granted, but life is full of change...either one adapts or become extinct. That is not to say it cannot gain a new glory. True, that is up to souls' even higher than the present triad of officials, but only thru participation within the rings can we send a clear signal to those souls we wish the rings to continue.
These three callers are forming a commision, a commision most of you decree, looking at the cork. Is it lost to any but I that these three callers of late are the ONLY three callers there are? The only three officials, put in place by law, or you wouldn't let them call your challenges for rings I dare say, and then you cry out at their taking a leading hand?
If we are to get new officials, from what ranks will they come? Ours. And why would any come forth if they see this type of venom lashed out at those attempting to extend the live of these rings?
I have perhaps said too much, perhaps not enough. If I am out of line so be it. I will support the new commision, just to show my loyalty to the rings. Loyalty tempered with caution and careful observation, but loyalty all the same. I would hope others of you would do the same. To keep these rings alive. I would urge some of you to do the same.
If not, then those of you worried about tournys and wins, and those who I have not met in the rings due to your conspicuous abscense from them, should perhaps think of your own options and bring them forth to the population.
The officials are the only ones I see doing something about the situation...besides belly ache.

Sneggle,
It is better to be thought a fool then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
I've no doubt about you. And I won't sully my honor by taking up arms against the likes of you.
You are pretty much a worthless and mindless little twit. Do make your boorish threats against someone more of your ilk.

I prefer to be brief and concise, so I will attempt to stem my thoughts to but a few.
First off, Barons are not, nor should they be, in "power". Can you challenge to remove an official? No. Can you challenge to remove a Baron? Yes. I will assume no more need be said along those lines, except that it address the foolishness of "denying" any officials-- the ONLY-- officials left of any title.
Jonalyn, I am unsure what missives you are reading, or reading into, upon this cork but I believe you need a short break. Your words ring of paranoia and that is troublesome as you usually show a well grounded, intelligent face.
This sport has indeed been assisted by outside organizations, how soon some have forgotten our sponsorship by the Red Dragon Inn. Did I miss the burning, maiming or otherwise mutilation/murder of those within that management?
Take a step back, take a breather, enjoy the sport or leave.

In a course whisper Lad reads aloud,
"take a step back, take a breather, enjoy the sport or leave."
Shaking a clenched hand the lanky man mumbles, "yeah, that's the spirit, hear hear!"
Slapping the Captain's note with a calloused, boney hand, another note appears tacked up ..... by a carpet tack!
Well said mate, an I be planning a visit to try me hand at the duels, yes sir.
at your service,
Lad

To the one that deigned nae to sign the missive.
Sir or Madame,
The Baron's hold within their Council the rights and privileges to adjudicate matters placed afore them by the officials.
Those officials, be they nae cognizant of the long history, rights, customs and common law of this ancient sport, and yet risen to a place of superiority, ast be this Triad, may fall prey to this so-called benign Kitsune Foundation, an organization I shall maintain dost nae hold status within the City.
Thou maketh mention of the Red Dragon Inn ast once sponsoring this ancient sport. Sir or Madame, twas the owner of said inn, nae the inn itself, what didst offer the services of various employees of said inn to officiate the combats which continue to take place within the confines of the basement.
May I point thee to the ancient histories which shall perhaps bring unto thee some enlightenment of happenings when so called organizations, benign or nae, didst make attempt to meddle with either the Rings or with the individuals who didst possess same?
Perhaps thou might discover that such attempts were invariably met with armed resistance.
Perhaps tis thou what perhaps wouldst abide meddlesome organizations what wouldst tamper with the ancient Rings. If'n thou wouldst abide such, Sir or Madame, may thee ast well meet with armed opposition.
