A Call to Arms (of sorts).

Patrons of the Arena:
Presently, we have seen a Triumvirate of Officials formed to lead us into
a new golden age of the Duel of Swords. Namely, these officials are Stormi, Fish and Nycholas. I have nothing against the 3 as individuals or as a faction. However, I strongly disagree with the way they are handling this situation. They propose to lead through force, stealing Baronial Rings through magic's, the Kitsune Foundation, and their newly found "King's Guard" (or whatever they call it). They also seem to want to keep the power in their own
hands and make the Baron's Council a sort of figurehead with no power, for they've stated they will make decisions regarding the Titles and other facets of the Sport. This seems to make a mockery of not only the Council to me, but of the Community as well. This is a Community, we should all share and have a say in the decisions.
Other than Ms. Stone's quite interesting propositions of running our lives by
wrongfully taking things that belong to the Community and it's representatives, I've seen no leadership of this Triumvirate thus far. Firstly, the Community does need leadership. I'd like nothing better than to see us flourish, but we have to start now, and not through fear. Through the things we've always promoted, a welcoming environment. Even though this has not always been followed through.
I've proposed this idea before. But the Community needs active representation
to the Officials and Rhydin. They need someone to listen to their concerns and someone to make decisions regarding the Arena and other things. The Baron's Council has always done this, and we are used to it. None of these three officials have had any experience as a Coordinator or Supervisor. I'm not denying their ability to lead, but I believe the Baron's Council should take this initiative to put aside the differences and squabbling and rebuild the
waning embers of the Community into a roaring fire. I know I will try. I'm willing to work in cooperation with the Officials committee if need be, but know this: I do not intend to stand by and watch as a Title I've taken because I wanted to improve the Community be robbed of all power to do this. Do rules need to be revised? Things need to be elaborated upon? Let the Community do it, it's their Community. That's all we want. If anyone
agrees or has any questions, I'll be happy to hear them. I encourage all the other Barons and the Overlord to stand up do what we were meant to do, LEAD.
Optimistically,

Sorry, Daelin, but there are some barons whom I wouldn't trust to vote with integrity regarding challenges alone; giving them more power would be like pouring kerosene on yourself when they're holding the torch.
I don't have a solution, least not right now. All I can say is that neither option is appealing.

Var,
For this to effectively happen we need
to at least put aside our differences. A good idea for you and everyone is this. Look at the members of the Council you don't trust. Now, look at the members that you do trust or at least think are in good character. They should
balance out if not outweigh your bad seed(s). If you have a problem with someone, address them in private and voice your concerns, they should listen. If not, convince someone you trust or you yourself to bring concerns to that person through a form they will listen to, challenge. I'm not saying challenge everyone you have a problem with for every little problem, then nothing will be resolved. Give them a chance, if it doesn't work out try something
else. In short, BE ACTIVE.
I hope this helps to distill some concerns.

My comrades,
We the community shall recognize the standards of the Swords community that we have always lived by, and execute them as we have always lived by, and as a community we shall perserve those as best we can when a situation arises. And until then, talk is cheap, so before we potentially propogate dire circumstances ourselves, let us at least wait until their is need because we feel a foul has been commited.

::rifles through the stack, smiles and ponders the possiblities. Writes nothing and heads off to the *official* calling duty. Bemusedly wondering if the barons council will be calling in his stead ::::

Dae, Var, and Nick:
No matter what, no one can enforce the community by "law". The officials taking what the Baron's council used to do is a better option though. I have seen Barons stripped of their rings and then Barons for the same offense not. This is unfair and nothing more than who is the most popular. The Baron's council, lead by the Overlord, should be concerned about rules, making rules (replacing the Supervisor on this), setting up outside DoS
functions, and being an example to this community. Right now the Barons council is a scattered group of misfits screaming at each other, if they visit the Arena at all, because no one knows the word compromise. I know some of you are thousands of years old but grow up.
A good example of this is Dae and Var in this stack of messages alone. Dae screams fairness in one way and Var another. Due to their lack of least trying to understand one another, their hate grew to this point over time (and don't tell me it is not hate because I could go back and show the many lines of writing slanders). This is what the new duelers coming into the sport saw and this is why we are as we are now.
Stand up and stop talking. This sport took back humanity to the middle ages by using brute force over a pen. The tables have turned and everyone has the pen. Look what we have ... not much anymore is it? So Dae, Var, if you don't like this post, meet me in the ring. I'm standing up.

Umm....Var? We hate each other? When did this happen? I don't remember it...shows you shouldn't get drunk all the time, ahh well.
Can I see the lines of slander, Evan? I mean the ones I've written to Var and vice-versa. My understanding of this is that you might be a bit confused.
