"M'lord, if you think you can find a tape with a record of me being even sligtly less clothed than I should, I'd like to see it! Everyone knows I favor long dresses that dont' hint too much and when I duel, it's breeches, boots, and regular button up shirts. So, by all means, find that tape, I'd LOVE to see it. "

Lord Nycholas...

If you find that tape, feel free to send a copy with the next shipment of ... that particular liquid you occasionally slip me a bottle of.

After all, I could use the entertainment.

Regards,
Ian Rex.

The Elfairy grinned before heading off to work on the Statue once more still lacking some deeds which he had planned to place among the bottom text.

Mmmhmm, ::nodding as she smirks at the tapes she managed to snag from the security camras::Not me.. ::raises a brow::Ouch, that looked like it hurt..::eating popcorn as she rewatches the brawl on tape:: I don't see any naked people. ::sighs::Man, and I was hoping too.
::walks to the message boards and scribbles a few lines::
Just as I thought, no nudity from me! Put that in your pipe and smoke it.. ::grins::Besides, the poor boy had to learn from someone. Perhaps his friends should do better by the boy start educating him on the birds and bees.

I'll have my lawyer contact yours. \

Have a nice day.

::donning his visor, the sassenach sets about his business. Gathering every tape in his library, he begins the process of spicing fragments of G's escapades, a couple of Ellisa's TDL matches and a few private tapes secreted from Kaprielle.
Adding the footage to the existing videos, he manages to doctor them to his satisfaction. Wiping a bead of sweat from his brow after reivewing his excellent handywork, he wonders why he didn't join the TDL, a quiet sigh and barely audibe comment passes his lips:: Good lord, that woman has legs all the way up to her neck!
::stuffing his finished product into the case after making a couple of duplicates, he sends one by messenger to Mac Kenzie, along with a bottle of Seamus' stash. Puts one in his desk for future reference and sends the other to his attorney::

:;studies the actions and penalties assessed with a somber expression, then a sly smile stirs. A few more readings and then he sets pen to paper:::

Nycholas,
Though I don't condone violence out side the ring, nor the trading in slaves for profit. I am just as concerned as the next person here abouts when it comes to extortion.
In truth, I am truly dissapointed that you did not try to be a bit more discreet.
I do however have a proposition for ya lad. Sell me the copies of the videos and I will gladly pay the ladies fines.

Good luck in you endeavor at anna rate,

Seamus

The question is not whether the Arena is self-healing through the magical properties of the Red Dragon Inn, but rather whether it is just for Lord Nycholas to levy penalties for behavior he wishes to discourage.

Lord Nycholas is well within his jurisdiction to levy fines in order to promote the good order of the Arena. Whether or not the profit from those fines is necessary in order to make repairs is irrelevant.

As caretaker of the sport, Lord Nycholas is exercising his right and proper powers to maintain order. Any who refuse to pay those fines, or seek to make other reparation, would be rightly subject to additional penalties.

As patrons of the sport we also have the priviledge of taking said officials outback and pommeling them and their fine happy arse into next year for trying to extort money from us for no good reason.

Some are saying the Arena heals itself when damage is caused to it, least I thought I read that somewhere, but E states the ward heals only those in the ring.If I had misread a statement, then I apologize, but if it's not the ward which is healing the damages, what is?

Here's what I'd like to know: why is it that penalizing Methous when he destroyed the baronial ring acceptable, yet all of a sudden we can't fine people for damaging the arena? Is the disrespect to the sport not the same?

Would it be acceptable, for example, for someone to urinate his or her name on the wall? After all, it can be cleaned up, no harm done.

The point is, destruction of the Arena or the properties within should not be condoned. Maybe the penalty issued by Nych is being done the wrong way, but that's not what I'm discussing. The point I'm trying to make is that disrespect was shown by damaging property. I don't want people to think they can tear the place up with the idea that it's acceptable. But that's just me.
