Results of the Overlord Challenge

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Duel of Swords
On the night of Sunday, May 6th, I was given the honor to witness the challenge for the title of Overlord. The challenge was issued from Baroness Ellisa Morgan unto Overlord Cletus Ganderfald.

The challenger dueled under the banner of a Silver dragon over a black field. By dueling with a short sword in one hand and a main gauche in the other, she dueled for the honor of her cabin boy, G'nort Dragoon-Talanador. She was seconded by the infamous Fandral Kurgan, otherwise known as the Bishop.

The defender dueled under the flag of Polaris: a red star in the middle of a black field. Using Hralfgar, he dueled for the honor of the late showing Arane Ganderfald. He had nobody stand as his second.

As agreed upon the two parties, the battle was fought to the best of three.

The first duel:
Ellisa simply dominated the match. By employing defensive tactics throughout all six rounds, Ellisa was able to avoid or counter all maneuvers performed by Cletus. The result of the first duel was Ellisa defeating Cletus 5-0 in six rounds.

The second duel:
Both duelers were ready to begin the next duel immediately, so I happily obliged. Cletus' scoring drought was kept for another five rounds, with Ellisa taking a 1-0 lead during that time. However, once he got on the scoreboard, he couldn't be stopped. He scored three unanswered points. Ellisa eventually tied the match, but Cletus reclaimed the lead and took the win. The long duel resulted in Cletus taking a 5-4 win in 13 rounds.

The third duel:
Once again, both duelists were ready to return to the ring to get the match underway. Uncharacteristic of the previous two matches, however, Cletus scored first. Ellisa tied the match the following round, but Cletus quickly responded to reclaim the lead and never looked back. After 7 rounds in the third duel, Cletus secures the title of Overlord 5-2!

I would like to congratulate both duelists for their skill and dignity displayed in the challenge, and thank them for the opportunity to oversee it.

Ellisa,

Congratulations on the superb opening duel. It is unfortunate that you used up all your fortune at once however. I sincerely hope that you will challenge for the Crown again in the future, you deserve to wear it.
