The following has been sent to the appropriate parties:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Warlord,
When the leaves were young on the trees, you reached the rank of Warlord and announced your intent to challenge me for the Tenth Ring. Now, as those same leaves are full and robust and look over their shoulders at a cool demise, you finally issue the challenge. Please inform me as to what quality of yours it is that I should salute, your bravery, or your ability to swiftly gather peer wins. Before I move on, however, I wish to inquire why exactly
you feel there is mutual hatred-hatred is a very strong word, Warlord-and especially, why it is you feel you can do better than me as the Baron of the Tenth. I fervently hope that you answer me in full; for Warlords only need to be skilled with a weapon, whereas Barons need to be skilled with a weapon and their tongue and pen.
Onwards. The challenge is accepted. I will get back to you as to when will be a suitable date of challenge. The match will be a Best of Three...a stipulation that the rules of the Duel of Swords states that in effect, you agreed to when you sent your missive of challenge. Besides, I am sure a soldier will have no qualms with grueling, lengthy contests of skill.
I sincerely request that a mighty, young active soldier in one of Rhydin's multiple armies such as yourself takes it easy on a rusty veteran of Rome's ancient legions.
Cassius Gaius Maximius
Is that the truth, or a mere illusion?
