Galin,
I would like to take this opportunity, to thank you for the fine match last evening. I am also glad that there was a minimal bickering, and no personal attacks made by you, or myself. I will try with all my might, to wear the 8th ring as honorably and serve it as well as you did.

With how you behaved last night after the challenge, I would have to say you already failed in your attempt to serve as well as Galin did.

Percival,
This isn't what you missed at all. Upon
defeating Galin (something I still can't believe myself), the "Baron" (and I use the term loosely for the first time in quite awhile) ran upstairs to the Arena and began pretending like he was some sort of hero who had vanquished a...well, dragon. Or better yet, he was pretending he was a God. I didn't see one person in the Arena who agreed with him, but there were a hell of alot of people who disagreed with them, myself being one. That is what you
missed dear Brother.
Xeric,
You've already made an idiot out of
yourself not more than 15 minutes after gaining your title. It would be hard for you to make people believe your actually going to do a good job as a Baron, especially around here. You'll never be a quarter of the Baron that Galin was. My advice to you refrain from making an idiot out of yourself too much more and wait for challenge, because I am sure it's coming. Call it a hunch, but if I was a Warlord, I would be amassing my peer wins already and I
know some already are.

I don't take kindly to anyone who runs in the room and yells "All hail the new Baron" only to run out immediately afterwards.
Then again, maybe I'm just being picky. However, Galin would never do such, so I feel it's safe to say he already failed measuring up to Galin's standards.
However, I'm curious about what "comments" he's referring to. All he said in the Arena was "All hail the new Baron." Did he say something in the Annex as well?

::Reads the few post that some of the elder patrons left::
Time to make this short and simple
Var, Percy, and Daelin,
I really don't give a damn, what any of you think about what did happen, or about what you think happened. As far as measuring up to Galin's shoes, to bad but I've already surpassed him. By the simple fact that I have dueled in the last few months, which the ex-baron didn't think he needed to do, but thought he should always be able to sit on the ring.
I take offense to being to him saying "I took it from Angel, only to lose it to you." Maybe I'm wrong for having feelings, but if you can stomp on mine, I can sure as hell stomp on yours.
As far as waiting for a challenge. Damn that scares me! I just don't know what I'll do, if someone expects me to prove that I deserve to hold the title. I might think that everyone who can challenge me has the right to do that or something.

You're far from surpassing him. Being a Baron is more than just dueling, it's how you carry yourself with that title. Yes, Galin could have dueled more, I'll freely admit that. But he was a better Baron than you will ever be.
Your attitude and behaviour are unfitting for the title you currently hold. I look forward to seeing the match you lose it in. It shouldn't be too long.

::the woman walks to the boards, emerald and silver eyes filled with disgust as she takes a pen and a piece of parchment to pen her feelings on this matter, though she does not frequent the Arena much, her feelings still hold true::
Ta whom it mayhaps shall concern,
I was asked last eve ta attend tha challenge o' tha Eight Baronnial ring below tha Arena, in tha Annex. I descended tha stairs ta find tha former Eight Baron dueling Xavior Eric Mues, also known ta many as tha Russian. I took my seat, an watched tha duel wit' interest, as I 'ad nae visited tha Annex but once afore fer another challenge. Wha' I saw there disgusted me an made me quite ashamed ta e'en call myself an old friend o' tha current
Baron o' tha Eighth Ring. During one o' tha rounds during tha match, I remember quite vividly tha Xeric Mues backhanded tha former Baron, an stated iffin 'e was done, er did 'e want more. Ta see conduct as such is nae befittin o' a Baron, least nae in my eyes. Below in tha Annex, there were other words exchanged as well between Galin an Xeric. After tha match was ended an Xeric 'ad won tha Eighth Baronnial Ring, 'gain words were exchanged moreso
on tha Russian's part than on tha part o' tha former Baron. Twas something along tha lines said ta tha effect o' tha Galin 'ad won tha Ring from an arsehole only ta lose ta another arsehole, thus stated by tha Russian 'imself. I excused myself quickly after tha match 'ad ended an I saw tha ring exchanged an took myself back up ta tha Arena, where I sat in disbelief o' Xeric's actions, wherefor 'e came upstairs inta tha Arena, nae minutes after
winnin tha challenge, ta yell out in tha well gathered crowd tha all will 'ail tha new Baron. Most laid in disgust ta tha new Baron, an I too lay in disgust o' 'im. Ta those tha are able ta challenge fer tha Eighth, all I can say is please act in 'aste ta this. An Xeric, though ye've dueled in tha rings in tha past few moons as opposed ta Galin's nae, I could see just by tha few moment's o' being in tha Annex tha ye are nae fit ta 'old tha title
o' Baron, lest be tha title tha ye 'eld aforehand. There is nae savin' yer Baronnialship, fer I can tell tha nae mana will let ye stand 'olding tha ring fer long. So enjoy yer ring whilst ye 'as it, fer I 'ave a distinct feelin ye shall nae 'old it fer long.

Xeric,
I don't give a flippant feeling about
what you are scared of. Watch where you shoot your mouth, Baron, when no resistance is offered, you can find that you can conjure up more enemies just by talking like you own something. You hold the mentality of just what you are, a simpleton, by thinking that just by dueling you are a better Baron than Galin, or any Baron who doesn't duel. It's been said before, a Baron should be skilled with a blade, a pen and their tongue. My opinion is just that,
an opinion, but personally, I believe you are seriously lacking in all the above.

Xeric,
Just why did you choose your defensive, self righteous, and overly belligerent little note to be addressed, in part to me? As I did not know the facts, I had said nothing to criticize your behavior or your worthiness. I merely asked what happened at the challenge that seemed to so strongly offend Var.
The fact that you chose to address your rather belligerent note, in part, to me without any provocation strikes me as rather offensive. I am annoyed that you would choose to do such a thing without provocation and I think that you need to pause to consider your words and actions more carefully before speaking and acting.
I would very much appreciate an apology, young man.

The Arena has turned into a River of Tears.
And I feel nothing but pity for Galin to lose to such a cretinous pig. I don't think I could pick a Warlord anymore worse than Xeric, but hell, now I've some options. Good job, Galin, way to kick some ass.
