On Tuesday, the 16th day of October I had the privilege of officiating the challenge match between Warlord Anubis Karos and Ministere Secondat, Baron of the Ninth Baronial ring. The gathering was small, but pleasant.
Baron Secondat dueled under the Jade and Black of Atrebla. As Heir Apparent of the land of Mist he dueled for her honor and the honor of the Ninth Baronial Ring of DoS; once held by his housemate, Topaz. Another figure rich in the history of the Ninth his friend, Captain, and standing as the Baron's Second was Ms Gloria Blaze.
Warlord Karos under his banner of skull and crossbones, with a black background. The weapons he wielded were a pair of golden battle gauntlets, with the opal Pathfinder on the left wristguard, and a set of serrated razor blades on the right wristguard. He dueled without a Second, nor Lady of Honor.
The challenge was fought in a single match format that went as follows:
Ring Challenge:
RD 01: Secondat draws first blood as he cuts high and over the rounded parry of Anubis. ((FCP/HC)) 1-0 Secondat
RD 02: Both Anubis and Secondat drop to one knee in matching stop hits for naught.
RD 03: Secondat out steps the Warlord as he rounds a parry low. ((FSS/FCP)) 2-0 Secondat
RD 04: Anubis drops to a stop hit that can't stop the low hit by Secondat. ((SH/LC)) 3-0 Secondat
RD 05: Secondat cuts in high clotheslining the fancy stepping Anubis. ((FSS/HC)) 4-0 Secondat
RD 06: Secondat steps off to the side and trips over the low sweep by Anubis. ((FSS/LC)) 4-1 Secondat
RD 07: Anubis turns a high parry that turns the thrusting blade of Secondat. ((FLP/TH)) 4-2 Secondat
RD 08: Secondat lays one in low and leans too far impaling himself on the outstretched blade of Anubis. ((LC/TH)) 4-3 Secondat
RD 09: Anubis drops to a stop hit and is nailed by the winning high cut by Secondat. ((SH/HC)) 5-3 Secondat
Baron Secondat retains the right to wear the Ninth Baronial Ring of DoS be defeating Anubis Karos 5-3 in 9 rounds. Well fought match gentlemen!
