Sixth Baronial Ring
From: hostpcgcharlie@aol.com (HOST PCG Charlie)
Date: 26 Dec 2001 23:25:55 EST
I got home from vacation to find a lovely little box at my house containing a severed finger with the Sixth Baronial ring still attached. The note included with the finger said that Strallen had been killed. The ring is now in Nych's possession.
I don't think that I have to tell you people that receiving severed body parts makes me cranky so let's put an end to that practice. Thank you.

Should there be a ceremony? I've never had anyone die around me like that, so I'm not sure. We had a ceremony for my Great Grandmother. would that be the same? Unless, I've heard, that not many like The Ex-Baron of the sixth. Would it be the same to try and offer someone to the Gods if we didn't even no for sure they were dead? I don't know anything about his death, but I hope he is found alive?? Well, He couldn't
be if He's been killed, but maybe someonee just sliced off his finger... that would be a shock. Pretty wierd as well.
Any way, I hope he is alive.

I thought highly of Strallen. He was active in the DoS and was starting to relax a bit to the point of polite conversation. Now they say he is dead, though no body has been brought forth.
If events prove out he is in fact dead, it is a shame and disgrace that he was killed. He was a Baron of the DoS and if this is allowed to go unpunished who else will become a victim?
I personally, vow revenge upon the head of his killer if he or she is ever identified.
One of the pillars of our society has been brought low. We are all lessened by this tragedy.

I feel pretty good, actually. It wasn't a tragedy, it was a needed alteration.

What?
Is Snegs talking about the same Strallen I knew?
Pillar of Society? He wasn't even a pillar of salt.
Lessened by the tragedy? Only the weak links of the gene pool are lessened, and that's not a tragedy.
It worries me when Sneggle supports someone. They're either elves or morons.

A worthless human is dead.
A ring is in the next WLT.
This is a win-win situation here.

G,
Your being unkind for no purpose. The man is supposedly dead and you dog him even in death.
As you are, or should be aware I value everyone who participates in the DoS.
I value you and even though we have exchanged ill words in the past I have pretty much put that behind me.
I repeat, when we lose someone, anyone, from the DoS we are all lessened. So, yes the death of Strallen is a lessening of us all.
I have no problem with elves or any of the other species that inhabit RhyDin. Sometimes individuals within a race do try my patience, but I am not a specieist.
The title moron is a one-size fits all, and we all wear it at one time or the other.
So, on the dawning of the new year I say peace be with you.

Not everyone is going to be like you, Lorance. Thats where you fail in life, I'm afraid. You expect too much of humanity, when humanity is barely a fragment in Rhydin.
Its nice to know you have such a blooming conscience, but that conscience serves little purpose here. You will not survive with it; it is your ball-and-chain. Righteous may seem like the way to go, but there are so many routes.
Don't consider this as an attack either, but your stupidity of how reality works is going to be your death.
- Starke
At least I spared you in the ring, monsieur.

Cas,
How inhumane of you. A callous and uncalled for remark. The man is dead, let the dead rest in peace.

Drey,
It is better to expect too much then to settle for less than is possible.
I have survived and will continue to do so in this environment. I have found it to be pleasant once I took care of my own temperment issues. There are ethical people here, a great many of them. To name just a few there is Var, G, Charlie, Unagi, and the list goes on. In your own bleak way you have your ethos and live by it. Drey, you see life much too darkly, but to each their own.
I appreciate your sparing me in the ring. In doing so, you demonstrated that my belief in humanity and humane principals is exactly correct.
I will not challenge you again for awhile, but I shall challenge someone soon after the begining of the next cycle.

All people must die in time... some die many times afor their death.
Th' Baron Corackenshae's death lessens me nae at all. Nae death lessens me, fer each life an' each death be part o' th' grand scheme o' existance.
Whether his death be a tragedy er a fool's error do remain a mystery fer now. One cannae say thet his skill wit' th' blade should have carried him through, fer skill in duelin' do nae always indicate skill in true battle.

What did I do to get my name added to the list of "ethical people" and how do I get it taken off?

"Cas,
How inhumane of you. A callous and uncalled for remark. "
Romans are not historically known for their tenderness to outsiders, you know.
"The man is dead, let the dead rest in peace."
Around here, the dead don't rest in peace.
20 denarii says I duel Strallen before 2003 is upon us.
