Dark as it was, Ash's elven eyes made out the streets of the city well enough. He jumped from rooftop to rooftop, his prey having led him here on a chase that had spanned many days. But things were closing, Ashlen knew it, and could smell it in the scent of the dark elf Z'ael. Fear....fear as deep as a river poured out of his prey, leaving its obvious scent in the spoor Z'ael left behind.
Ashlen ran and jumped, heaving his eight foot frame into the air with a massive spring of well muscled legs, rocketing from the rooftop he was on and across and alleyway, to grapple the higher rooftop across from him and swing himself up to the top. Ashlen then reeled in his rope and looked about, this high vantage point giving him a better view of the city streets and the forum below him known as the Arena
Then quickly he saw what he was looking for, a grey cloaked figure striding down the street, for all the world looking as calm as could be, Ashlen knew it was Z'ael, one thing people always forgot to change is their boots, and Z'ael's were still covered with the quagmire that Ashlen had chased him through a few days ago. Ash then drew his twelve foot longbow over his shoulder, and knocked a black arrow into the bowstring and drew back
with practiced ease, the bow creaking alarmingly as he drew a bead on his target and waited for a moment.
Just Z'ael was passing an alleyway Ash loosed the black arrow, its feathers making a loud sound as they passed through the air. The arrow took Z'ael in the shoulder and kept going, dragging his prey into the alleyway and nailing him to the wall.
Ash swung out his grapple, connecting with the roof above the alley and pulling the grapple safe, he jumped from the rooftop he was on and landed in the alleyway behind the dark elf, watching in pleasure as Z'ael writhed and hissed in pain, trying with little success to draw the arrow from the wall behind him and free himself.
"Your luck has run out, murdering scum." Ash said, advancing toward the dark elf and drawing a long dagger from behind his back.
Z'ael shrieked and let loose a blast of lightning from his fingetips, meaning to incinerate his attacker, but the lightning played across Ash's body like water as the half breed laughed darkly.
"Abominiation!! Half breed!!" Z'ael raged, desperatly yanking at the arrow that held him to the stone alley wall.
"Nothing so evil as you Z'ael, or your foul people." The eight foot half ogre half elf said as he approached, reaching out with one massive hand and placing it on Z'ael's forehead, pushing his head back into the wall and exposing the stark white neck of the dark elf.
"Say hello to Loth." Ashlen said, raring back and slamming the dagger into the dark elf's neck, powerfully jamming it up and into Z'ael's brain and yanking the blade out in one quick motion.
A gurgling sound emitted from the dark elf's body, Z'ael limbs twitching uncontrollably as his brain misfired and his life's blood drained from his wound onto his tunic and cloak, in moments the twitching stopped, and Ashlen was enveloped by the silence of the night.
Ashlen turned, leaving the body to rot, stuck to the wall of the alley. And strode out into the night streets, looking for a tavern to bed down for the night in. And a drink to be had.
