I have no need to hide behind people, if you would like a whack at me, I would love to meet you challenge and fight you fare and square. I may not be at the top of everyones A list, but I hate those who have a proble with me for my race, or wont back their word with a blade. I have sent word to the Over Lord and he
know how I stand, and if you have a proble with it you can stand up and fight me.

Dragonsblade,

Better holders than I eh? I note your standards run up to Ellisa Morgan and the incomparable Jeffery Oakenshield.

Both duelists I have immense respect for. And both that I have defeated in defense of said title.

You forget, whelp child, that I did not just randomly hold the Seventh. I held it and defended it against some of its strongest previous nobility.

You may hold whatever opinion you wish. But do not revise history for your own ends. You do not have to like me, this has never been required. You have held ill will towards me since I once stripped of of this title, and you continued to carry your ire even though you were able to wrest it back once.

Disrespect is a right everyone has. You are welcome to yours, but do not think to malign me with your petty little hatred of who I am and what I may have done to you.

I return, I go for the Seventh if I feel I must. I have held, and will hold, only this one title within our rings, and I represent it in most ways in honor of the greats that had held it before me, in a tradition that is much older than you.

You, Dragonsblade, have just held rings. Do not confuse the two.

I am,
Adonai Uziel

Well, Adonai will certainly bring some interest back in here. No doubt he has the skill, but Adonai, I never did like your attitude about the rings. I completely understand thinking one ring is more important than the rest; I feel that way about the tenth, as it has sentimental value. However, you speak as if the Seventh is yours, and that immediate declaration
has me lose respect for that individual who does so. The same thing happened to Huma.

I am glad to see you back, Adonai, but more because I like seeing the duelists of the past around.

However, congratulations are in order to Malhavoc for a well won match, and Vawn for a well attempted defense. I would have liked to see Vawn win, but I know his skill will carry him to holding another ring soon enough.

And to Arithon,
The title of baron and overlord is subject to scrutiny of all types, be it skill, character, or popularity. Anyone who holds the title who expects not to be questioned in any of those ways should be wary of keeping a title, because there was a time when it was partly the cause of so many challenges whirling around the Arena.

Lord Medici-Giovanni,

Certainly I would expect that those who hold such lofty titles can and should be reasonably expected to answer to questions of character. However, my question was raised by the fact that certain individuals seemed to be commenting on Baron Malhavoc's skill, or lack thereof, without having witnessed the challenge and without providing any specific reasons for so doing. Certainly every duelist has the right to like or dislike whom he or she may choose.
Nonetheless, it is skill alone which determines the winning and holding of rings. Malhavoc demonstrated that on the night of the challenge, he was the superior swordsman. This is not in question, to my mind. Should he continue to be superior to those who will presumably challenge him (and he should indeed be challenged by any who doubt his ability and qualification to hold the Seventh) he will continue to be a Baron, regardless of his character or
popularity. That and that alone was the thrust of my original note.

With respect,
Arithon Falessan

I don't think he ment that, I think he ment that he succesfully defeated Jeff in a duel.

The words "both that I have defeated in defense of said title" would tend to make me think he meant he's saying he beat Ellisa and Jeff in defense of the stated title. I remember a defense against Ellisa...against Jeff? Nahh.

Laird Malhavoc Shadowlord,

Congratulations, although I was obviously biased on who I wished to win that eve. I'm sure in time, as fate dictates, the Seventh will return to the Mahrtun name, until then, take care of it well. It is good to see it, through you, remain Renegade.

Congratulations again,

Stormi

"Better holders than I eh? I note your standards run up to Ellisa Morgan and
the incomparable Jeffery Oakenshield."

No where in the histories does it state that Adonai Uziel has defeated Jeffrey Oakenshield. They did, however, duel for the Fifth...Jeff won, oddly enough.

" You forget, whelp child, that I did not just randomly hold the Seventh. I
held it and defended it against some of its strongest previous nobility."

You beat great superstars such as Perrinis Alabaster and Percival de Clermont.

You beat Kalamere Ar'Din...oh wait, Dalamar did that for you.

You beat a young Var Medici-Giovanni before he reached his prime, and you shut out Ellisa after she returned from a lengthy absence..oddly enough, you feel that Perrinis shutting you out is a fluke..so how come your own shutout over Ellisa does not belong in the same category?
