Last Will and Testament of the Lord of Ezogaer
Date: 11/29/97 5:53 PM Pacific Daylight Time
From: Duke UzieI
::Adonai sat down behind his black oak desk, pulling a sheet of parchment from a drawer and setting the tip of a fine quill pen to it, he began to write, his thoughts jumbled and tired and his first breath a sigh as he set word to parchment:: My wife, friends, and patrons of the DoS, This is the last will and testament of Adonai Uziel, Lord of the Valheru. I, Adonai, being of sound body and mind do now make this last will and testament in hopes that those that can, will abide by it and see that my last wishes in RhyDin are carried out. To my wife, CygnetSera, I leave the Stronghold of Ezogaer, and the lands surrounding it, but ask that the rest of my fledgling nation be left to the land, and my race, for them to do with as they will. To the Warlord Seamus MacDonnaugh, I leave my broadsword Belief, for he, if any, has always stood by me as a friend, so thus I leave him my blade, that he will have a dependable friend also. To my children Agravain and Aislain, I leave my love, and that they were in my thoughts even unto now, and the contents of my library at the Stronghold, that they may learn from my knowledge and my writings and become strong themselves one day..as I know they will be. To the Warlord Sartan, who has shown himself to be a good friend and has learned from me, albeit in a round about way, I leave my gold infinity emblem and chain, that he might remember me as he makes his way into the ranks of the DoS. To Baron G'nort Gneesmacher Esplenade Dragoon Talanador, who has always been a staunch and willing friend and ever ready to support me in my ventures I leave but this; I ask that you one day take Lupton est Dracoern's head, and if you can, present it to my widowed wife....as vengence for that which has driven me to this extreme. And to Jeffery OakenShield, my closest and most trusted friend and to Billy Ray Karnafexx, my biggest influence and indirect teacher, I leave the most important of all these, my utmost and undaunted respect and admiration, and ask that they each take my Valheru advisors, Maleoch and Amarane into their households respectively, and allow them to help them, as they have helped me in these times. To Lupton est Dracoern and Verceterix Gavin Favre il'Thome I leave the offal of my stables. I am sure it will be there when they greedily arrive to expand their Empire. This is my will.I am,~Adonai Uziel of the Valheru~~Lord of Ezogaer~~Warlord of the Duel of Swords~::Adonai set the quill back into its pot, and then whispered a word in the tongue of the Dragon Lords, warding the parchment from damage or age, and then pushed the chair back and placed his feet up on the desk, unworried of the scuffs his heavy leather boots placed on the finely polished black oak desktop. He then looked around for a moment and removed his infinity necklace and placed it on top of the parchment, and unbuckled his sword belt and left Belief atop the parchment also. Then, whistling a light tune as he did so, curled his will in upon himself, the sound roaring in his own ears, and wished himself out of existance. A blinding flash went off for just a moment, almost to fast for the mortal eye to see...and the chair was empty...with not a hint that Adonai had even been there..but the parchment...and its gathered objects.::((Simply put?? Good bye DoS and RhyDin. I have grown WAY TOO tired of all this crap to try and come here to have fun anymore. And this last situation with Rix's player getting me in on an SL to kill Lupton and then him and Lupton and others getting together to black ball me on the inner realms folders is enough. Have fun children. I'm Outta here for good. So don't expect an Elijah from me...cause I got no time for this petty bull crapanymore.))

((Now, I'm assuming that eventually this will and testament makes it to the general public, after all, it's addressed to them. Anyways, this is the Garrison Territory's response.))
To be frank, Adonai's will disgusts me. My words may seem harsh, but I intend them in no other way. How could he be so foolish to treat his supposed kingdom as a personal possesion? To will it away to his wife as if it were his sword or his horse?
This shows NO respect or concern for the citizens of the land he claimed.
The land Adonai referred to as Ezogaer was not his to seceede, as it had been annexed by the Dracoern Empire in the Treatise between the Land of Ezogaer and the Empire of Dracoern.
It has been shown that Adonai in life and in the signing of his will had no respect for the laws of the land he lived in, nor did he show any knowledge of common decency or sense. He was in no way fit for the demands that are necessary to a head of state.
Thus, the Garrison Territory does not recognize the late Adonai's claims to any land, save one acre in the vicinity of his former residence, out of respect to his wife and children.
Thus decreed,

Cygnet stirred fitfully. She had fallen asleep in the small sitting room connected to her husbands study at the stronghold. She tensed upright suddenly upon the soft downfilled cushion of the wingback chair. There was an odd stillness that caused the seraph angel to rise and move with urgency into Adonai's study. Pausing in the arched, 8 foot doorway, tall enough to accomodate her husbands massive build, she scanned the empty room, a low whisper escaping her parted lips, "no... no...", her face paling to the color of white-grey. She focused on his empty chair, the desk, the infinity necklace placed on top of a parchment beside his grand and formidable sword, Belief, then back to the empty chair. The empty chair. The fallen Angel felt a stabbing panic course thru every inch of her body. She thought to move a step but could not. She opened her mouth to call for her husband, but she could not breath. She knew.Amarane appeared from the outer corridor beside the Dutchess of Ezogaer, supporting her as her knees buckled slightly from the shock of what she sensed. "M'lady UzieI, what shock draws such look upon your face?", guiding her into the study, himself suddenly sensing the tragedy before them. Cygnet pulled from his hold, facing him, her expression was of disbelief.Angels seldom cry. The first time the seraph had cried was but a single tear, which Adonai had captured upon his finger with a gentle touch, turning the tear into a diamond which he wore about his neck on a chain. The second time occured when she and Adonai were married and she shed tears of happiness. The third time was now, at the Ezogaer stronghold in the presence of his trusted Valheru advisor, Amarane. Wide eyed, the tears pooled in her eyescausing blue to shimmer in a watery gaze. Casting her eyes downward, the small droplets slipped from lashes, to cheeks, to fall then upon her gown. "Madame", Amarane spoke, not knowing what else to say.Cygnet moved to her husbands chair, running her trembling hand over the back, feeling the warmth that remained from where he sat not a minute before. She let her hand rest there as the last bit of his energy was drawn into her touch causing her to gasp out. Amarane moved quickly to her side whispering, "It is the way of the Valheru... you... we... we all must be strong", his words not quite registering, although the Dutchess nodded.Sitting in her husbands chair, Cyg glanced down at the things he left behind. She absently ran a finger over the wedding band she wore, remembering the band she had placed upon his finger, seeing only his infinity necklace and blade left behind. Taking the necklace, she slowly pulled the chain over her head, letting the pendant fall between the valley of her breasts. Hands shaking, the angel gestures for Amarane to take a seat. With an obedientnod, he takes the chair across from the desk. The silence in the study of Adonai UzieI, Duke of Ezogaer, Lord of the Valheru, was deafening agony as his wife quietly read his last will and testament. The parchment stained with the angel's tears was still held in quivering hands that rested on the black oak desk as she looked up at Amarane and spoke in a soft, tremulous tone, "Please arrange a meeting to be held here at the stronghold." Amarane reached for a blank parchment, lifting the quill, "As you wish M'lady".Without further instruction, her voice now soft with a clarity of courage and love, she spoke, " Seamus MacDonnaugh, Sartan, G'nort Dragoon, Jeffery OakenShield, and Billy Ray Karnafexx." Amarane nods, scribbing the names down. The reality slowly coming to claw at Cygnets heart and soul as she added, "I shall contact the children myself", turning her head from the faithful advisor, hiding her face against her folded arms as she slumps into his chair, weeping.

From: Aislain Uz
The moon beam bathes Aislain's small heart shaped face exposing the flickering of emotions. Long dark red curls escape the braid Marme had carefully made, and tangle wildly across the crisp white pillow. The small body shudders as liquid black eyes fly open.
"Adonai?"
Aislain sits up, her slender figure fragile and almost transparent in the moon light. Agravain pops up simultaneously across from her. His narrow dark looks a mirror to blood father Adonai Uziel, he appears to be an apparition of Adonai's lost youth.
"Aggy?"
" 'Slain, I dreamed of Adonai, something has happened."
"Aggy, my blood feels hot in my body. I can feel it boiling under my skin."
" 'Slain, my heart is swollen in my chest, it can barely beat."
"Aggy?"
" 'Slain?"
Aislain slides to the floor and pads barefoot to her brother's bed. Silent tears stream down her face and stain the thin white cotton of her night dress. He opens his covers and pulls his twin in next to him. They wrap their arms around each other as Agravain's tears mingle with hers and his long dark hair tangles in her curls.
" 'Slain, I do not know what has happend, but someone will pay if its as bad as it feels."
"Oui Aggy."
The moon leaves their window, moving up into the heavens as the twins finally drift off into sleep. In the darkness, with innocence their only solace, they drift back to sleep.

Amarane nodded, his eyes watching the Duchess till the last sliver of her vanished from sight as he closed the massive oak door to Adonai's study. She sat alone now at her husbands desk, eyes puffy and red, her usual bright gaze blank and dull. Her head was turned toward the fire, the soft pale hues of yellow and red casting shadow and light upon her drawn, pale face, as the flames flickered about the remaining logs.
Cygnet was thinking about all that needed to be done. How she needed to be strong and deal with the matters at hand. By now, Amarane would have sent the official Last Will and Testament to be posted on the Arena Boards for all to read. And her winged courier would have delivered her letter to the Emperor of Dracoern. She needed to be ready for what was now her destiny as Duchess of Ezogaer.
But she felt betrayed, weak. She longed to feel the tender embrace of her husband just once more...she felt cold, alone... scared.
"tap tap tap"
Cygnet blinked, focusing her stare from the fire, drifting toward the window. Wiping a lone tear as it slipped down her cheek, she saw the fallen angel, Aristiri, hovering outside and looking in.
"Tomorrow is promised to no one" she whispered to herself, rising to open the window.

Victor, the cherub courier of Cygnet Seraphin-UzieI, Duchess of Ezogaer, is instructed by Amarane, the chief advisor to the now deceased Duke, to publicly post the last Will and Testament of the Lord of Ezogaer on behalf of his widow. Below the signature of Adonai UzieI is the seal of the Seraph Angel, a pair of gold wings holding her initials, and below that, the seal of the UzieI. This being the formal postingof said document. Sidartha read the post and frowned. Rumors on Adonai's death were flying, but nothing was completely proven, until now. It angered her that the Duke of Ezogaer would abandon a wife and children that needed him for such a petty reason. Sid made a mental note to do all she could to help out Cyg, Aggy and Aislain. Sidartha shook her head, reading the part about the "offal of his stables" and Lupton and Rix's supposed "greed". "Such words from a sad man who willingly gave his land away. If he wanted to keep his lands, he should have said no. So instead of living with his mistake, he tries to murder them, and then insults them even at his death..."With a small sigh, she prayed for his soul's safe passage into the Realm of Souls and that he thinks on what he had done and learns the errors of his ways.Taking a pen to parchment, she wrote:To all:Though Adonai's actions before he left this world angered or distressed some of us, perhaps it is best just to forgive...but never forget, for what he did is a reminder to us all that violence is not the way to solve problems and neither is running away from it. Forgiveness will be hard for some of us, but we all have to remember that if we forgive, we will be forgiven if we need to be.~Sidartha est Dracoern

Perri read the officially posted notice as a copy was delivered to his offices. He reclined in his chair, debating the possible stances that could be taken on this. Cyggy was the "duchess," Agravain was the heir apparent, and neither of them mattered much politically anyways. The General read over the archived copy of the now well-read and quoted Treatise between the Duchy of Ezogaer and the Dracoern Empire, then stood and stepped to the window.
These new offices were contructed in the Capitol District of Garrison City, overlooking the Pax Republica bay. The temperate weather was pleasing, and the sound of laboring men and battlemechs, now converted for heavy contruction, waved along the distance. The Garrison Territory was putting a great expense into meticulously planned urban areas, hiring the most skilled architects and contractors available. The economy was still in the black, given
the massive savings and liquidized investments of the Garrison. The heavy spending couldn't continue infinitely, of course, but Perrinis had confidence that a healthly economy would come from the carefully designed agrilcultural and manufacturing programs.
The citizens settling their homesteads across the country had just as much confidence and pride in the new Territory as the new Executive Commander did. Most of them came from areas of RhyDin city where crime and larceny was rampant, or from the ravaged lands west of Eldicor. The uniformed soldiers of the Garrison(All having now taken extensive training in peacetime conduct and community leadership) patroled the under-construction urban landscapes
and Agricultural Improvement Sites stood as a reminder of the Law that ensured the freedoms the Territory was built on.
As he stepped away from the window, his mind returned to the task at hand. He sat down before his terminal and drafted his first official declaration as acting Executive Commander.
To the concered parties and heads of state:
The Garrison Territory, in light of the recent change in presiding Duchal power in Ezogaer, will recognize the balance of powers on Dracoern Empire lands(Which include the Duchy of Ezogaer) as they were set in the Treatise between the Duchy of Ezogaer and the Dracoern Empire. As the Garrison Territory is not part of the Empire in any way, nor is it subject to any of its laws, the Garrison Territory shall not recognize any manner of validity in
threats on this land's blessed sovereignity.
Thus decreed,
-General Perrinis Alabaster

The Regent pauses to read the last will and testament of the Duke of Ezogaer. Withdrawing her magical quill she pens a short note to the Lady Cygnet.
My dear Cygnet.
The pain of the loss of thy beloved husband is surely deeply felt. It is my sincerest hope that you and the children are shown the honors due thee and that the Duke's wishes as stated in his will with regard to the Stronghold and the lands of Ezogaer are honored. A wife and mother should be safe and secure as should their home and their homeland. My deepest condolences to thee and thine. I offer thee my sincerest hope that thee and thine shall
remember the love the Duke bore thee. Call upon me for any assistances, a whisper upon the winds shall find me, for such pain as thee suffer, I have known. Thy sweetness and light, oh winged one, and thy gentle blessings eased me oft. May that gift be returned to thee, tenfold, with the blessing of the Angels and the One. In grace may thee walk, in peace may thee shelter, in friends may thee find ease.
Signed in her own hand.

Victor, the winged courier of Cygnet Seraphin-UzieI, the former 1st Celestial being of the 9 Orders of Angels, hovered silently above the the Seraph, waiting to deliver two very important letters. The days that passed since her husbands death had proved kind, as support and condolences came to her, and her husbands children from his former marriage. Flowers appeared at the stronghold gates along with cards and letters. Word was sent that the castle estate, several miles from the stronghold, was laden with flowers and wishes to the Duchess and heir apparent, Aggy UzieI. The now rested seraph motioned to Victor, her smile calm and soft to him as he landed before her upon the black oak desk. He handed her the first letter, sealed with the mark of the Emperor of Dracoern. The second letter, as it passed into Cygnet's steady hand, gave her a soothing feeling. She sensed the Regent's empathy before she even read the missive that Victor had taken from the arena boards, leaving a vision of the original left behind init's place, for all to read. The small, rotund, winged courier furrowed his brow, realizing he had forgotten the message from Sidartha, making a mental note not to forget it on his return trip. The cherub messenger watched the widowed Duchess of Ezogaer with a pensive eye. Something was amiss, but he dared not probe the thoughts of the former 1st.Cygnet handed Victor another letter to deliver. He frowned slightly seeing the name penned in deep green ink, the fine linen parchment sealed with the mark of the Seraph and of Ezogaer. It simply read, ' Aristiri '."Godspeed dear Victor", her voice softly spoken, with clarity and strength. He nodded obediently, taking the missive. "Be swift in your return, as I am sure the Emperor awaits word from me." Victor's wings flitted quickly. In a flash of light, he was gone.A firm rap came upon the study door. "Please enter", Cygnet responded in her usual soft voice, pausing as the door opened."Madame", Amarane nodded, his tone serious, subtle with concern. "There is a gentleman...", Amarane cleared his voice with deliberate action as he continued, "...Apollo Maran... at the gate wishing to speak with you." He knew this man was trouble. "Shall I tell him you are unable to recieve visitors?"Cygnet repeated the name, "Apollo Maran", tapping a finger to her lips. "No Amarane, it's time to carry on the business of running my husband's lands. Show Mr. Maran in."Against his better judgement, he nodded to the Duchess, turning to get the infamous smuggler. No good could possibly come of this meeting he thought, his step brisk down the corridor to the keep's main hall where a guard waited to fetch Apollo Maran at the stronghold gate.

A letter arrived at the stronghold adressed to Cygnet. It bore the personal crest of the Duchess of Navarra, a rearing unicorn facing right and the rising sun in the background. The scent of honeysuckle flowed from it.~~ My dear friend Cygnet, I send you formal condolences in your time of grief. Although we have spoken privately about your loss sometimes I find a written word to be more memorable. I was pleased to have performed your marriage ceremony.. I hope you will find comfort in the fact that Adonai had loved you deeply. These profound words have helped me in many times of grief. Someone is never lost to us as long as we hold then in our hearts and there are those that remember them. When all are gone from this life that remember then all are together in heaven. I hope peace will find it's way to you, Cygnet. I wish you well. Morte sits bolt up in bed, her eyes lookin around te see what be wrong. Beside her, Badger slept peacefully. She slipped out o' bed, her long white gown flowin as she walked te the fire. Suddenly, the face o' the Valheru demon who had haunted her coaleased before her, it's misty form swayin slightly.
"Ye have nae power o'er me now, Demon."
It hissed at her, spreadin it's malignancy outwards, it's hollow deep voice resoundin in her head. " I have what I came to dessstroy, Uzzzziel is no more." It's evil laughter filled her with dread.
"oh Goddess" Morte whispered. "oh no"
