Seth sat down in his chair, pondering the days events. As he sat there, he noticed a package next to the lone candle in the room. He picked it up and opened it. "ah, so this is what Thomas gave me that night. I've got to remember to open these things sooner."
He held up the badge and smiled. It wasn't everyday he got an award. Maybe now everyone would treat him like an individual, and not like some little shadow of Luna. If all went well, he'd get a chance to show them.

From: RDI Kyttn
For three weeks Thomas had been very ill. The friars were worried that the illness, a deep cough in the boy's chest and a high fever would take him from them. Brother Patrick stopped visiting the Outback and didn't check the small machine for letters from the felinoid as to who was Brute of the Week. When Thomas began to improve, the first thing he asked about was whether or not the award buckles had been given. Patrick confessed they they had not and Thomas urged him to let him out of bed to take care of the situation. Patrick hushed him and promised the awards would be given soon, that he need only rest. Thomas was terribly worried over the situation. Patrick did not tell him that they had feared for his life, but rather that he and therest of the brothers were sometimes mindless old men. Thomas forgave Patrick with a smile and drifted off to sleep assured that the three buckles would be handed out in due course... late, but delivered. ((Note: The next three posts will be the awards themselves... rather than portions of the story line for Thomas. ))

Brute of the Week Awards (RDI Kyttn) 10/28 - 10/30 Bob BraxxxThe felinoid stepped into Rask's office. She smiled, holding the small package under her arm and stepped up to the desk she was familiar with in many ways. "Hey boss," she said. Kyt plopped the wrapped box on the desk top with a soft thump. "Kyt-babe," Rask smiled. "That it?""Yup, it's the final one from me. You'll pass it along? I think it's an appropriate choice." Rask nodded. "No problem." He watched her for a moment then said, "I was sorry to hear about Thomas. He was a good kid."For a moment, her royal blue eyes grew moist and she didn't, or couldn't, speak. After swiping at them with the back of her hand she swallowed hard and said roughly. "Yeah, he was. He loved this place. I ordered a plaque - if that's okay? To go on the wall not far from the bar. Just ... to note his passing. Brother Patrick will deliver it later ... he promised." "I think that'd be fine." He watched her compose herself quickly and nodded as to himself. "It was good working with ya Kyt." Her dark lips curled in a Cheshire grin. "Always good to work under a man like you, Rask." He let out a quiet laugh and Kyt slipped around the desk to give him a hug and a light kiss on the cheek. "I'll be seeing you around." "Sure thing. Take care of yourself." There may have been a slight catch in his strong voice. She turned, and headed for the door, her long tail following her out. "No worries." That was Kyttn, he thought. No worries. Rask looked down at the boxed award she'd left. The small tag on the package which held the Brute of the Week buckle read, in a feline's flowing hand, "Robert Braxxx, Cowboy Extraordinaire." ((Author's note: With special thanks to Rask, Tex, Ringo, Jake, Kelli, Tis, Matt, Strider, Shanni, Nova, Kreahl, Murphy, Rand, Nate:*, Stof, MacKenzie, Rayn - Squat and Jack that'd be respectively - 'Rell and 'Rell, Yas, Erinthe, Fin, Finn... so many.. Brute of the Week Awards 11/4 - 11/6 ( RDI Tyger ) Harris4801
It was her first week doing this, and for once the gypsy was actually... nervous. Looking down a moment, she muttered, "I must be insane." It wasn't easy, but she was determined to do her best.
Lifting her chin proudly, Jaycy picked up the box that contained the buckle for the week from her desk and made her way toward the Outback. She could only hope to find Harris there; she didn't know where he lived.
Looking inside, she found the area devoid of people... in particular, who she was looking for. With a sigh, she decided to settle down to wait to see if he would show, and so she moved inside, to the callers' couch. Dropping down, she glanced to the box, and with a slight grin, she opened it.. unable to risk a peek at the coveted buckle.
It was smooth in her hands as she turned it over, to read the engraving...
Harris D'Artainian
Duel of Fists Brute of the Week
11-4 Thru 11-6
With a smile, she put it back. She had heard good things about his week, and was impressed. Especially what he had done in the after-hours one night... being the only Emerald to defeat newcomer Jesse Troyan. *That* had impressed her even more. Closing her eyes a moment, she sat to wait, wondering how long it would be before he would come.

Oh, fun... she got to go find Mr. Arrogant. She nodded, grudgingly admitting he deserved the award this week. He was just plain kicking butt. Unfortunately. And this, admitting he was doing a good job... oy, this wasn't gonna help his ego, not one lil' bit.
She stepped from the relative warmth of her office, the box tucked under her arm, pulling the dark, heavy cloak about her. She had no clue where he was, or where he would be right about now. "I s'pose all I can do is just wander around and hope I find 'im."
Muttering, she first made her way to the Outback, peeking in once she got there. Nope, he wasn't there... next was the Arena. She spotted someone outside the Arena doorway, and upon coming closer, yup, there he was. She really didn't wanna do this, but it had to be done. Better to do it now than later.
Stepping up to him, she said she had something for him, to which he asked what. Glancing quickly to the box in her hand, she looked up and said, "Well.. much as I hate to admit it, ya earned the Brute of the Week award." And of course, the arrogance shone through as his reply was "There's a surprise." Rolling her eyes, she handed off the box, with the buckle inside engraved.
Jesse Troyan
Duel of Fists Brute of the Week

After exchanging a few other "pleasantries", Jesse stepped inside the Arena and Jaycy slowly made her way back to her warm office.

Brute of the Week Awards 11/18 - 11/20 ( RDI Tyger ) Tangrak
Who was he? Jaycy had never met Tangrak, but she would soon enough. She didn't know anything of him, really, except his physical description.
"First thing to look for, a tall man... oy, they're all tall." Groaning, she picked up the box from the office, swiftly pulling off the top. As usual, she just had to look at the buckle. Turning it over, she ran her fingers over the engraving, murmuring. "Someday..." She closed her eyes a moment, imagining getting her own buckle, but when she reopened them, she gazed upon the engraving, which hadn't changed.
Tangrak
Duel of Fists Brute of the Week
11-18 Thru 11-20
Sighing to herself, she put the buckle back in the box and grabbed her cloak. Pulling it tight about her, she stepped from her office and swiftly made her way toward the Outback. As usual, it was the first place she looked for people, and it was the only place she could even guess to find the man. Looking in, she frowned, thinking she saw Tangrak. But his back was turned, so Jaycy couldn't make a positive identification. He was
over six feet, and had blonde hair, but his eyes... darnit, she couldn't see the guys' eyes. Stepping in, she called out cautiously, not wanting to make a fool of herself. "Tangrak?"

With a bit of a relieved smile, Jaycy stepped into the Outback, holding the box containing the coveted buckle under her cloak. She was glad she had been right in her identification, and offered him a warm smile as she made her way over.
"Heyas... I was lookin' for ya cuz I have somethin' to give ya."
With a grin, she pulled forth the box and held it out, in offering. "You're this week's Brute of the Week, hon, and this buckle belongs to ya. Congrats, and keep up the good work."
She admired his persistence, having lost to Harris and then asking for a rematch, only to win that, and his win against Killer as well. She offered the tall gentleman a wink as he took the box, and took a step back.
"Anyways, I gotta get goin'.. have a good evenin'."
With a smile, she turned and stepped from the Outback, swift steps taking her back to her office, her warm cloak wrapped tight around her small frame.

From: Deuce Mack
Deuce had to wonder why the doors to the Outback were open. It was barely dusk, who would be there? He shifted all the Christmas presents he had to his left arm, still not sure why he got so much for a holiday that people probably had never heard of here. Tucking the front of his shirt up behind his gun, just in case, he tiptoed inside.
"Deuce!! I've got something for you... from Jaycy."
Jaycy? What could she want to give him... probably nothing good, considering she made the psychotic turkey that tried to kill him.
"Stop right dere! Turn around, slowlike, aight? What Jaycy wanna gimme?" He tried to sound menacing, although it was pretty obvious he was more confused than anything. He just shrugged it off to still being affected by the concussion... for which he'd have to have a little chat with Jesse.. later.
The old man turned, slowly, looking stressed out enough as it was. "Brute of the Week award.."
Deuce blinked. And blinked. And grinned.
"Yeah? Hell yeah, lemme see dat." He pulled the shirt back down over his gun, and a good portion of his legs, then took the box from Joel and opened it up. His grin got bigger when he saw the prize.
Deuce walked upstairs, not once acknowledging the man who brought him the buckle in the first place again, just wondering how his would look next to Kai's.

Brute of the Week Awards 12/16 - 12/18 ( RDI Tyger ) AndrewFrcr
It was a combination of things. She had so many things to take care of, she hadn't meant to forget. Jaycy sighed as she looked to Joel. She had been forgetting a lot of things... things she shouldn't be forgetting. Why, just yesterday, it took her a minute to remember the nanny's name... the nanny who had been with her all the girls' lives. Ah well, she thought, as she glided over toward the desk. "Let's get these caught up, eh Joel?" She
offered him a small smile before looking to the reports before her.
* * *
Joel wandered toward the Outback, bearing the coveted buckle in its protective box. he was searching for a young man by the name of Andrew. As usual, he didn't know where else to look, so he went to the Duel of Fists hangout.
Stepping in, he stamped his feet, shaking off the snow. With a mutter about the damned cold weather, he took out the box and checked the buckle, to see if it was properly engraved.
Andrew Forcer
Duel of Fists Brute of the Week
12-16 Thru 12-18
With a nod, he put the buckle back and looked around, calling out. "Hello. Is Andrew Forcer in the building?" With a chuckle, he mumbled something about most Duel of Fists people not being all there, waiting to see if the man he was looking for was around.

Andrew wasn't at the Outback. His thoughts were still on the Opal that he caught so much of his attention it had even been part of the reason why heSoon enough, a tall man pushed the left side of the double-doors open and walked in, his sack lightly bouncing off his waist with each step. As he took his first glance around the Outback hey gave out a hollor, "'ey all!" Smiling he stepped in farther to be greated by a
young man.
"'ello, boy. 'ow are ya?" Joel just smiled at him without replying.
"Are you Andrew?" Andrew nodded. "Tha' I am. An' who are you?"
"Here, I've got something for you..." The boy showed him the box which Andrew recognized immediatly. A smile was flung over his face as he took the box from the boys hands.
"Thank ya much" Andrew replied.
"It's from Jaycy." Andrew looked strangly at him. "Jaycy? 'ow long 'as she been doin' the Brute o' the Week Awards?" Joel just shrugged and ran out of the Outback doors.
Smiling, Andrew popped open the box to reveal the buckel, running his hand over it with a smile. He stepped farther into the Outback as he closed the box and slid it into his sack.
